Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon I'd take credit for having a great memory, which admittedly IS pretty decent, but in this case thank Wikipedia and Google.

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon Wow...that's a great memory there, Krasch! You are so right. I stand corrected. Pogo Pony here isn't as much a horsey version of one of the Mayhem, as he is a Muppet version of a horse with an Emo hair-do... The whole pick is Vaudeville meets Hee Haw meets the Muppet Show. Only with Cornier Jokes. And I'm having trouble concentrating with that...um, fringe. It is very well done, no matter how bad my memory is. Oh, yeah, and thanks for flashing me back there, now I can't get that song outta my head... It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights...

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon Definitely perfect. Reminds me of the old pulp/pin-up/calendar girl cartoons done by really fine artists like Elvgren. I even like the hip/waist/torso ratio and the always sensitive head-to-breast ratio.

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon RE: The Muppet Show band member. I believe you're referring to the lead singer/keyboardist in the top hat named Dr. Teeth (The band being Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem) as opposed to a guitarist.
The moustached beatnik Floyd Pepper played bass guitar, and the girl Janice played the lead guitar.

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon All I can say is that it looks as if you took a photograph and somehow made it look like a rendered drawing. It's perfection, absolutely awesome. Love all the details and the corny jokes.

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon Another fine piece, Mister co. Or, at this point, I think we should all be addressing you as "Master" co. I liked this as a sketch, and eagerly awaited your colorized version. My hopes were so high for a masterpiece that I dared only dream of it becoming reality. And yet, here it is. In living color. From the very well executed Looney Tunes color offset (as you put it), to the simplicity of that sundown and stars background. The whole backdrop only serves to emphasize the depth of your skill, not to mention the extreme detail on the main characters. Mr. Pogo Pony has puppet-like texture, and hair falling into his invisible eyes that reminds me of the classic Muppet Show band's Guitarist - you know, what's his name, that kinda looks like a muppet version of Slash...sans tophat. While at the same time retaining a comical childlike feel to him. And the color choice of green, pulls my eyes back and forth from him to the Lime-like color of the "post no Bulls" sign. Nicely done, as in so doing I am forced time and again to draw my gaze past the lovely April's "benefits." Shapely, perky, not overstated, but definite eye catchers! Speaking of which...Damn! the glitter, the sparkles, that outfit Rocks! As a sketch, I could only imagine how this would appear in color, with your previous rendition of this duo as a reference. Well done. Now on to her less overt assets...Laughing eyes match her playful mood and help pull off this vaudevillian (is that a word?) slap stick scene with actual emotion. Once again you show us another side of Miss Fewels in the happy-go-lucky attitude. One can only wonder for what suprise ending she is actually setting up her audience this time. Whew, that was a lot...so in case you skipped ahead to this point...I'll sum up: BRILLIANT! Bio was right, you are getting even better!

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon OH, YES!
OK...Chuck Jones, in his autobiography, talks about such things as 'off-color registar', 'double shadows', etc. We have a copy in our local library. The joke on the wall is cute. The different skintones on Her face, right inner-thigh and abdomin are well-done...as is the work on the background shy effect...fades beautifully. The lines delineating the fringe is an interesting touch...good job!
Interesting that Her 'nips' aren't poking out...too many artists would have done that...which would downgrade the work, IMOHO. Also...did you know that the original formula for "Scotchgard Fabric Spray" was highly flamable? My parents found the hard way with their couch...and a neighbors cigarette. Also, you did quite correct on the horse' eyes: from this angle, they usually can not be seen.
Another "10" for you!

Re: Salon des Refuses: April @ Charlie Horse Saloon Jokes? There were jokes? Seriously, man, you do seem to be getting better. Your line is so... streamlined? Is that the word? The women's body - as in this one - are just pure perfection, and together with the humor (yeah, I did notice) the effect is a double-whammy. Keep it up!!
