Dr. Insecto completes my team known as the Evil Society of Villains (ESV), as he is the big boss behind them all. Design wise, while he is a man mutated into an insect-like monster, since I made his former self an Japanese man, I decided to make him look somewhat like a demon of Japanese folklore even though the evil entity that changed him wasn't from his home country or even Earth. I was also inspired a bit by Galactus, in that Insecto is also a destroyer of worlds who feeds off of the destruction he causes, but Insecto is not a giant and is not a force of nature like Galactus is in that he's a bit more grounded in spite of still being an intergalactic foe that is feared by many.
I've never really considered what religion he is if any, but I was actually going by how it's really not that uncommon for Asian people to have Judea-Christian/Western first names, especially in the U.S. The Japanese in particular adore western/American culture. I did however pick that particular first name for him for a bit of the opposite of that in that it's a rather uncommon name, and I did want to have it be related somehow to the made up name of the entity that changed him since I like to put a bit of meaning into the names of all my characters if I can even if the end results are something ridiculously coincidental. In this case it's almost as if the entity was particularly attracted to him b/c of the similarities of their names and the fact that the doctor studied insects, he was the perfect choice.
A Japanese Christian, interestingly (at least going by his first name). Unless he was named after the anicent demonic entity that would end up merging with him... which would be a pretty impressive coincidence.
Cool design and backstory. I can kinda see the Japanese influence, especially in the face.
