- In Adventure Comics #260 (May 1959) and subsequent Silver Age comics, it was revealed that Aquaman was Arthur Curry, the son of Tom Curry, a lighthouse keeper, and Atlanna, a water-breathing outcast from the lost, underwater city of Atlantis. Due to his heritage, Aquaman discovered as a youth that he possessed various superhuman abilities, including the powers of surviving underwater, communication with sea life, and tremendous swimming prowess. Eventually, Arthur decided to use his talents to become the defender of the Earth`s oceans.

this is about the 4th time i've done an aquaman image and my 2nd with my own design. i did this one to refine my comic style. i'm really proud of the way he's shaping up so far.

The Atom introduced during the Silver Age of comic books in Showcase #34 (1961) is physicist and university professor Ray Palmer (named for real-life science fiction writer Raymond A. Palmer, who was himself quite short). Using a mass of white dwarf star matter, he fashioned a lens which allowed him to shrink down to subatomic size. Originally, his size and molecular density abilities derived from the white dwarf star material of his costume, controlled by mechanisms in his belt, and later by controls in the palms of his gloves. Much later, he gained the innate equivalent powers within his own body.

It's been so long, I can't even remember the last time I tried to draw a full color scene but it's certainly the first time I attempted to do it completely digitally (no pencil and paper). I know... | Superman's new costume when the DC universe reboots. It has a high V collar with red trim and a modernized shield. It has a belt and there is some design on cuffs but they are not fully visible in the only image I have seen so I didn't depict them. |
