Thank you for my Heromorph's Artist Spotlight. I really appreciate all the love I find at Heromorph.

Here is my latest piece, a watercolor on paper of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.

As usual, in the comments section, you will find a video with the Making Of.

This is a sketch that I intend on coloring, but I thought I'd give you guys a sneak preview. The pic pretty much speaks for itself: Clark Kent is coming out of superspeed in sight of either a friend or a foe. I tried to put a little bit of resemblance of Tom Welling in the face but more along the lines of a comic book rendition of the actor. Originally it was going to be on Loeb Bridge but the sketch didn't work out. Etched on 9 x 12 with 6H to HB leads. Late.

From the Calendar Girlz Album cover WIP http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum0/photo.php?lid=1629 which features Supergirl and Krypto for the month of December. I figured this would be a good month to post it.

I had done this one sometime last year, and I think my style has changed since then.

After an 8-year old Bruce Wayne witnesses the rape and murder of his mother by his father, the line between good and evil becomes a blur to him. This image haunts his whole childhood. At age 21, after taking his father's life, he makes a pact with Satan to be free of the constraints of human law. He is consumed by Hell body and soul, reborn as a bat/man hybrid, and is sent to earth to harvest souls for the devil. Knowing that he has damned himself, he sets out to make things right by preying on evil-doers. But it is a fight he'll never win....

To paraphrase Twain, "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

After sneaking into the Batcave (in the trunk of the Batmobile), Catwoman figures the place is hers once the lights go out.  Just as she's about to steal the Batputer, though, she hears a rustling behind her...  Then-

The background for this image is the cover of Detective comics #828.  The elements in this image come from six Dean Yeagle drawings, Bambi Butt'r'fly, Camouflaged, Girl, Squirrel, Lighter Than Air, and Fanny Sellers Amber and Nazi Bodyguard.  Other parts of Catwoman are from the covers of Catwoman #30, #31, and Nine Lives of a Feline Fatale.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted, life intrudes on art, always.

FLASHBACK!
Comics 2 Film: The Digital Comics Gallery, or DCG, was my initiation into posting art online...
I gained plenty of good advice as well as deservedly harsh critiques due to submitting art to the site, all of which served me well in progressing my skill-levels (somewhat) and (eventually) getting out of my comfort-zone (slightly) - in addition to being a site where I met many extremely talented, and incredibly nice people (Pijon!)...
I made this in appreciation of the site and its members in early 2006, as it features my Superman charicature Squinty McChin whom I originally debuted on the C2F DCG...

Graphic Mouse Amalgam D/O circa 2008! I was prescient enough to save my brief outlines at the time, so here's the setup for...

HELLBAT BEYOND
Batman Beyond (Terry McGuiness), merged with the Hellboy.
In the Gotham city of the near future, an aging Bruce Wayne is forced to outsource a successor to protect the innocent from evil. He turns his sights on the BPRD's rumoured crimefighting monster, and with the proper flexing of his financial muscle Bruce adopts The Hellboy as his new ward and gradually trains him to become The Hellbat: Beyond.
The bigger, madder, redder, Dark Knight.

Discovered that some of my colour pens could "erase" certain other colour pens...
Experimenting with this technique again, I roughly laid down some brown as background and drew the Batman in black marker. I then set about adding the highlight areas (including eyes and bat-signal) with a light yellow which enabled the "erasure" technique.
I am the night!

I've been using some awesome Letraset water-colour pens for some colouring and they're a joy to play with. The middle image is the original colours, the other two are alternates on either side of the colour spectrum.
