I feel I should specify that this character isn't affiliated with any religious leaders. Well, except God and Jesus of course. Obviously its affiliated with Christianity but no, it isn't the Pope or any other leader in the costume. The character isn't even Catholic. Its just an anonymous Christian person with superpowers who sees the powers as being from God and meant to help people. The hammer is a mystic weapon that is unable to make contact with any living things. It just passes through them so that he can't injure any people with it. It can, however, impact spiritual beings. Demons, angels, etc. And inanimate objects. I only added all of this info because people on other sites had made comments that it was funny to see the Pope as a superhero which this most definitely is NOT!

This is one of the most original ideas I've seen in a long time. Way to go. Now all he needs is an arch enemy...besides the obvious of course.

Heroes in the usual sense, even IF they have a religious faith, it's not their identity so people can identify with them. Hellboy, as far as I know, is a Catholic. If he was called the Horned Catholic, it'd be kind of odd.

I could get behind a hero who was a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or whatever because faith is a characteristic of any human being, but when you define someone solely based on that set of religious beliefs, anyone who isn't a follower of that religion may find it hard to identify with him/her.

I would read a comic about a hero who happens to be a Christian, but I wouldn't read one about a guy NAMED The Christian, because, to me, the name is already preachy. lol To me, the point of comics is fantasy and when you have a clear ideological message you're trying to convey that doesn't have anything to do with telling a story, I think most readers would check out. Just my observation, though

All good points. However, there will always be segments of the fanbase that don't feel represented. This is just a character for a portion of those. And a big part of it is just therapy for me. Isn't like there will actually be a comic of this or anything.

I think I'll come out with my own religious hero: The Jehovah's Witness. "When people see him coming, they run!"

Lol, although to be fair, just as many people would probably run from any Judeo-Christian based hero after seeing the bad example set by so many televangelists. They'd be worried about being asked for donations.

though many people would speculate if his faith is so strong why hide his face behind the mask? because wouldn't that be lying to the world as to who he is and what he serves for? many others in Christian faith would see super powers as a tool of Satan because God would never give such powers to humans........sorry Got this kind of thing on a daily basis when I had my hobby shop going. I thought about the mask thing. I wanted him in a mask so that noone could claim he represents any certian segment of the population. He can be an 'everyman' that anyone could identify with. And yes, just like any other belief system, even the people who claim to share the beliefs will disagree on certain aspects. Otherwise, where would I get the emotional and intellectual conflict for the stories?

Because.... Sing along kidos!

If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

Tra...la...la...la...la.

Great image! I like it.
