| Old Green Lantern drawing. VagabondX DC Comics 2009/2/7 18:51 3110 5
This drawing is probably around 8 years old. This was done back when Wizard magazine had art contests. The contest was to draw the Kyle Rayner Green Lantern defeating Dr Light in an original way. I just sent in the black and white ink drawing since I didn't have photoshop back then but I did get one of the 20 1st runner up prizes which was really cool. I got some autographed comics. I found this recently and thought I would add some color. Just remember, the drawing is 8 years old.
I don't know how long Dr Light had this outfit but its the one he had during the contest and I can't find an image of it anywhere on the freakin' net to use for a color reference.
Oh and in case anyone has the issue of Wizard where they printed the winners, you won't see mine. They didn't print it! Maybe because it wasn't colored. |

I don't know. Somewhere outside of Heaven.
Someone on DeviantArt mentioned how funny a team-up between Batman and The Tick would be. This is how I saw it. |

| Pee break. VagabondX DC Comics 2009/1/7 22:32 3115 10
Even Batman has to pee sometime and I doubt the Batmobile comes equipped with a Bat-urinal. And those all night patrols can be killers on the bladder. Especially after some of Alfred's coffee.
Ok, ok. The Batmobile probably does have some kind of contraption for Bats to relieve himself or Batman can control his body to the degree that he could go days or weeks without urinating but a cartoon about that wouldn't be very funny now would it? Not that I'm assuming this one is funny either but you get my point.
Did this one really quick. Please forgive the shoddy draftsmanship. |

| Gargoyle VagabondX Marvel Comics 2008/12/5 23:20 2930 7
I always liked the look of this guy but I wanted to sort of redesign his shape. If that makes any sense. I like how it turned out. Even if it is too similar to DC's Demon. |

| Dungeons and Dragons VagabondX Fantasy 2008/11/29 18:12 3411 9
Back in the 80's there was a line of Dungeons and Dragons action figures. The characters were apparently created specifically for the toys and had no connection to the cartoon. I wanted those figures so bad but D&D was forbidden in my house. I looked them up recently and found the two I remembered best from the line. This is Warduke and Strongheart battling it out. |

| Another try. VagabondX TV and Movies 2008/11/25 23:22 3078 3
I became more displeased with the last attempt so I thought I would try another. I like this one better in that I think the layout is better and the drawing itself is better. The only thing I like less about this one is that its more cartoony and stylized than the previous one.
I changed the Phantoms trunks to the original striped ones. Although he didn't wear the stripes in the show, I like those better. Although, to be completely accurate, he didn't even have his pistols in the show either.
Don't ask me what Lothar is doing. I guess he's just trying to psych out the enemy. |

| The coolest of the team. VagabondX TV and Movies 2008/11/21 13:12 2249 4
Been watching a dvd of that old Defenders of the Earth cartoon and wanted to do a pic of my two favorites. Lothar and the Phantom.
This one was SO close. The only things that bother me are Lothar's left arm and Phantom's leg. Those screw up the whole shot. |

I love Jesus and superheroes. And with Jesus being the only real superhero who ever lived, this seemed like a natural combination. I think I want to do another version of this because I'm not real happy with it but I wanted to post this first one anyway.
I know many people here will not like that I post this and I'm honestly not doing it to make anyone mad. I just wanted to draw it and this is where I post some of my artwork. And who knows? Someone might even like it. |

| Captain Britain VagabondX Marvel Comics 2008/11/8 20:09 2767 7
One of my favorite Marvel characters from the 70's. In his original (and cooler) costume than the ones he had later. Bad thing about him is that he first only appeared in the Marvel UK line that wasn't available here in the states. The only glimpse we had of him was a couple Marvel Team-ups alongside Spidey. Meanwhile, he had his own series in the UK. I was super excited the other day when I happened to find several issues of said series in a local comic shop. Bought one of each. The art is classic Herb Trimpe which made it even more exciting! |

| The 1st Warrior VagabondX TV and Movies 2008/10/26 12:11 2307 7
This is Buliwyf from the movie 'The 13th Warrior'. He was the first one to volunteer so he was the 1st warrior. This is the scene just after the last battle when he sits down and dies from the poison inflicted upon him by the 'mother' of the Wendol.
That is an awesome movie. Especially that last battle scene. Buliwyf is on his death bed. Everyone is just waiting for word of his passing while they prepare for the enemy. Suddenly he comes staggering out with only his sword. No armor except for those bracers on his forearms. He plants himself at the forefront and lets the blanket drop from his back. When he starts to recite that prayer or whatever it is as the enemy rides over the hill and approaches the fort..."Lo there do I see my father. Lo there do I see my Mother and my sisters and my brothers..."
Talk about goose bumps.
Awesome movie. Best version of the Beowulf legend ever.
P.S. That guy who played Buliwyf would make an awesome Marvel version of Thor. |

| Moth meeting. VagabondX DC Comics 2008/10/22 23:51 2865 6
For those who don't know. The multi-hued fellow on the left is a Batman villain called Killer Moth. The portly fellow is Arthur. Sidekick to the Tick. Let me know if this dialogue is too vague. |

Been playing the Lego Batman game and Killer Moth is in it wearing this old costume. I don't know why but I really like it. Thought I would draw it. It also inspired a hopefully amusing comic to follow. |

| Why I don't do commissions. VagabondX TV and Movies 2008/10/10 21:58 2952 8
A fellow I work with is an independent filmmaker and wanted a birthday present for his cinematographer cohort. They are both big fans of the late Stan Winston and he wanted a drawing of several of Stan's most famous creations, not to mention a couple director peers, standing around his grave.
This is the result.
If he even wants it, I will probably just give it to him. I wouldn't feel right charging for this. |

| Halloween silliness. VagabondX Original Characters 2008/10/10 21:42 2621 7
I did this pic last Halloween - http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum2/photo.php?lid=5068 - and was thinking about how I never see jill-o-lanterns. So this was born.
Besides which, that last guy looked kind of sad so I thought he might hit it off with Jill here.
I know, this is silly. And there is probably too much cleavage...oh wait, I forgot which site I'm on. Never mind. |

Christian loves Halloween. See the glee on his face? He loves it because it brings out all the zombies and vampires and things that go bump in the night. And thats when he really gets to cut loose. Or as I like to call it, he gets to open up a big old can of WUB*.

| Failed experiment. VagabondX Marvel Comics 2008/9/15 21:57 2723 6
Did this at work today while sitting in my car. I borrowed some sharpies from work to do it. Then when I got home I used a white gel pen on it. Its done on a piece of brown cardboard. I know its hard to see any details and it is confusing. Plus the pose is awkward. I was really just doing it to see what it would look like to use markers and the white pen on a brown surface.
The character is an old Marvel hero who was once called Miss Fury. Although I redesigned her outfit from back then. |

I did this page a bit differently. I realized that I probably don't need to make the pencils on each page so dark. I tried to leave this one less so but I think it just ended up looking shoddy and rushed. I'm confident the inker can redeem it though. |

| Weirdiosity in action. VagabondX Original Characters 2008/8/20 22:39 2351 5
Someone on DevArt commented on how the guy in my last pic would run so I thought it would be fun to draw. And I intended him to have a jetpack in that last pic also so here that is as well.
I'm REALLY diggin' these grey prismacolor markers.
As weird as this guy is, he sure is fun to draw. |

I....don't know what the heck this is. I was looking through an old sketchbook and found a bunch of drawings of a guy with his arms and legs reversed so I wanted to do a drawing like that. I started on it and it just kind of spiraled into....whatever the heck this is.
I like it though. |

| Father and Son VagabondX Marvel Comics 2008/8/18 23:43 2461 3
I was reading Marvel Team-up #64 today in which Spiderman teams up with The Daughters of the Dragon to defend Iron Fist from Davos aka The Steel Serpent. Davos is another guy from K'un Lun or however its spelled and is an old enemy of Iron Fist's. Davos' father is Lei Kung The Thunderer who trained Iron Fist.
I can't say for sure why but I've always liked The Thunderer's look. Not to mention Steel Serpent and Iron Fist. Part of it may be that these particular issues were done by John Byrne early in his career and I've always been a big fan of his work.
Anyway, I was reading the comic and got the urge to do a quick drawing of Lei Kung and son. The drawings themselves were done too quickly(not counting the colors) which is why Lei Kung looks strange. |
