Actor/bodybuilder Steve Reeves was the model for Joe Meach, the janitor who received the powers of The Legion of Super-Heroes after being struck by lightning. |

| Golden Age Green Lantern SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2004/6/23 10:55 3521 1
Actor Buster Crabbe takes a break in costume from filming his unreleased 1943 movie serial "Green Lantern". And, no, I'm not changing my name to "Golden Age Mage"! Just thought I'd try something different. |
|
| Adam Strange SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2004/6/26 13:01 3268 13
After playing both Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, who better than Buster Crabbe (again) as Adam, Zeta-beaming onto Rann from Earth? Jennifer Connelly as Alanna. Watch for a helmeted version later. |

| Sinestro SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2004/7/23 18:37 3216 3
I just did Katma Tui, and 'tho' this guy is no Halle Berry, I thought I'd do the Green Lantern Corps arch-nemisis. I've been getting some very good tips lately on how to sharpen up my work. I hope it's working. What do you guys think? I really appreciate all the suggestions and comments you guys give me! (Even if they're not always complimentary- Be tough- the Mage can take it !) |

| The Flash and Kid Flash SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2004/8/12 16:27 3365 3
I've spent so much time doing obscure Silver Age characters that I thought it was about time I did a genuine S.A. bigshot. So, here's a pic of Barry Allen and his nephew-in-law Wally West taking a leisurely jog through Central City. I used a couple of college athletes for the Fastest Men Alive. |
|
| Birdman SilverAgeMage TV and Movies 2004/8/27 21:54 3426 4
Before he became Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law, Birdman was my favorite of Hanna-Barberas' animated super-heroes. He could fire solar blasts and create energy shields, which made him cooler than other winged characters. His eagle is Avenger, and, yes, folks, he's purple. They're both seen leaving the "Bird-lair". |

| Thunder Woman (original amalgam) SilverAgeMage Other Comics 2004/10/18 8:28 4262 3
Remember when Marvel and DC co-created Amalgam Comics? I liked the idea, so, frustrated writer/artist that I am, I came up with some of my own. It should be pretty obvious which two heroes I used. I've been getting some pretty good tips on doing metal lately from tutorials and my fellow 'Morphers, so I'm trying them out. How'd I do? |

| Captain Arthur Curry, The Aqua-Man SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2005/1/21 16:40 3403 6
My entry for the January Challenge. I got this idea after seeing the movie "The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen" a while back: What if some of the JLA were around in Victorian England? So, here's Aquaman as a Captain Nemo- type, complete with Nautilus-like sub. Note the hand- I used a cutlass instead of a hook. Let me know what you think! |
|
| Mirror Master SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2005/1/30 12:46 3440 6
Hi, guys, I'm back! On reflection, Sam Scudder was my favorite member of the Flashes' Rogues Gallery. (ouch!) Vin Diesel as Mirror Master, giving Barry and Wally seven years of bad luck. Let me know what you think, okay? |
|
| Raven SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2005/2/4 10:45 3616 9
Didn't want to post this so soon after Wasmiths' excellent pic of her, but I was half finished with this when he posted his, so here goes. Tried a little Roger Dean style on the background- he's the artist that painted Yes album covers in the '70s. So, what do you folks think? |
|
| Wonder Girl SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2005/2/21 21:33 4490 8
Welcome to Mages' Presidents Day sale- Two Wonder Girls for the price of one! I thought the model would make a good WG, but I couldn't decide whether to do the original costume (on the right), or the later one, so I did 'em both. What do you think? |

| Composite Supergirl SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/5/26 17:40 6110 7
Hi, guys, I'm back! Thought I'd do a gender-swap version of The Composite Superman. I went with the 70's Supergirl costume since I couldn't do half a blue skirt, but with the large centered "S" (the '70's version had a small symbol on the left breast) What do you think? |
|
| Element Girl and Metamorpho SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/6/19 16:54 3781 5
Metamorpho's one of my favorite Silver Age heroes, and I've been dying to do his female counterpart, the late, great Urania Blackwell for quite some time, so here they are! Wrestler(and fellow 'Burgh boy) Kurt Angle as Rex and Lindsay Mulinazzi's head on a thumnail as E-Girl. The're standing in front of the rose-colored pyramid where the got their powers. |
|
| Catwoman '69 SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/6/24 19:22 3456 5
1969, that is! (Made ya look!)The Selina Kyle I remember best is the one with the purple slit skirt, but I wanted to do something a bit different,so I went with the costume from the late '60s and early '70s (what else would you expect from your Friendly Neighborhood S.A.M.?) |
|
| Mary Marvel #1,000,000 SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/7/6 16:54 3731 6
Sorry I'm a bit late for Mary Marvel week. I liked the "DC One Million" mini-series a few years ago,so I thought I'd do The World's Mightiest Girl 853rd century style, down to the weird metallic costumes the future heroes wore. Kirsten Dunst as Mary. And, check out the "comics code" symbol! |

| Lady Heromorph meets...Beavis and Butt-Head?! SilverAgeMage TV and Movies 2006/7/16 18:54 2726 7
I've been wanting to do B&B for a while, so I thought their reaction to the lovely Ladys'"big thingies" would be a natural. I Pen-tooled around a model to get LHs' amazing curves, but it's no manip. Everything else is freehand, mostly with Pen, in Photoshop 7.0. |

| Shadow Lass and Night Girl SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/8/1 17:57 3947 6
Finally got around to doing some Legionaires! I got the idea to team Shady and Substitute Legion memeber Night Girl from a 1975 ish drawn by Mike Grell(don'cha love his costume designs, fellas?!) Models are Figure competitors Moorea Wolfe(Shady)and Karen Zaremba. |

| Fire: One Hot Little Lass SilverAgeMage DC Comics 2006/8/26 17:56 3740 4
Gosh,I hate to work poor Karen Zaremba so hard, but she makes a great heroine, doesn't she? And, no, Fire's not pulling that famous college-dorm stunt, either, She doesn't need matches and the flame's not blue. |

Remember Travis Morgans' sorceress daughter from the '70s and'80s "Warlord" series? I used a photo of a girl in a Scarlet Witch costume as a base, but got rid of the pic-this is all Photoshop. Whaddaya think? |
