| Starfire...what crazy hair! joshuaoman DC Comics 2008/3/5 12:45 5333 12
I always thought this was the stupidest idea for a super power! Fire hair? No wonder it's so long. Can't cut it! It was actually kind of fun to do though.
The image is a poser character combined with a lot of photoshop work and some frankensteining from a Starfire picture by an artist named Turner. |

| She Hulk Saving the Bus joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2009/8/5 14:42 3268 2
I think I spent more time thinking what to name this stupid picture than actually doing it.
Yet another action piece from me; She Hulk again this time.
I went with a different internet rumor, Eva Mendes as She Hulk. I think she'd make a good one; better than stick-thin Megan Fox.
I've combined @ 10 images and renders to make this picture...hope you all enjoy! |

| She Hulk Defense joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2009/7/31 10:18 3785 4
This picture reminds me of one of the isues with photomanipping: We've got great models in static poses. A lot of these are comic characters and we're used to seeing them in action, so we try to build action around this simple poses.
Having said that, I went ahead and gave it a try. This is probably why I like to use Poser to set up the pose for a lot of my art.
Anyway, comments are sure appreciated. I think I'm getting better.

| Second Psylocke joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2009/4/17 13:20 3623 3
Well, this is my second try at Psylocke. I like the results a lot more. I think I finally realized just how much work you have to put in an image to make it look good. This is the first 100% Manip I've done in a while...no 3D here. |
|
| Psylocke Try joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2007/1/20 17:00 4006 6
Well, here is another mixed media. Psylocke this time. The clothes look okay, but I would like to start getting wrinkels and things put in. Also, prett generic background, but its cool. |

| Plex, the killer-droid joshuaoman Sci-fi 2008/3/3 20:51 2360 2
Continuing on with my own SW characters, we have Plex, the killer droid. Pretty much the only thing he can do is kill, but he's pretty good at it.
This character is a POSER model that I completely designed. The base model was a stick figure, but I added a lot of props (like a clock for his chest) and did some Photoshopping to improve his face. |
|
| My First Wonder Woman joshuaoman DC Comics 2007/1/20 16:57 4782 10
This is kind of mixed media. I combined a POSER character with the face of Raquel gibson and then did a ton of fixing on it (hair and stuff). |

| Jedi Chick Action Piece joshuaoman Sci-fi 2009/8/3 2:39 3071 1
Again, in my hunt for more action oriented pieces, I came up with this one! Hope you like.
My own original creation...started as a super hero pic, but as soon as I tried it with a lightsaber...game over :)

| Invisible Girl Above New York joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2010/10/26 14:28 2642 3
The trickiest part of this image was trying to make invisible "show up". Just reducing opacity didn't really work, and it's not like an illustration: Dotted Lines won't make the cut. |
|
| Heaven's Warrior joshuaoman Original Characters 2009/1/26 10:51 2681 2
I thought about doing this character with wings, but decided against it in the end. Pretty much pure 3D here...with some PS postwork. I know there is a debate on this site, if 3D is better with postwork or without. I don't fell like an artist at all though, if I let the CPU do all the work :) |
|
| Erin on the Rooftop joshuaoman Original Characters 2009/2/26 15:33 2800 4
Little character I made up in poser. Did some texture work and PS postwork. I have one without the gore too, but I'm committing to this one. |
|
| Don't Bring a Gun to a Mind-Fight joshuaoman Original Characters 2009/8/20 0:49 2148 1
I've always wondered what we'd be capable of if we could learn to use even 10% of our brain power. This chick uses 20% - to awesome effect. |

| Denzel, the Space Pirate joshuaoman Sci-fi 2008/3/2 14:27 2309 3
This is a 3D character I designed of my brother's Star Wars Role-Playing Game Character, Denzel. He lost is arms in an ill-advised attempt at boarding a Wookie vessel, and as a result, has cybernetics.
I wrote a short story introducing the characters and posted it in the Fan Fiction section of this site:

See the other characters in my subsequent postings.

| Darktan joshuaoman Sci-fi 2008/3/2 14:32 2427 3
Darktan, another SWRPG character, was an Imperial Stormtrooper, until he was left for dead on Tatooine after a battle with Tusken Raiders. The sandpeople adopted him, trained him (and gave him that brutal scar). He was later reunited with his Stormtrooper brothers, but is looking for a chance to escape. |

| 70 Years of Marvel - Phoenix Cover joshuaoman Marvel Comics 2009/8/25 22:54 5285 6
A tribute to Marvel, 70 Years old this year. On their site, they have the 70 best covers and this is one of them. I've included a thumbnail of the cover I was hoping to emulate.
Let me know how you think I did. THANK YOU. |
