I saw this base image of an underwear model and I thought he might make a good john stewart GL. And then I had the idea that for some reason he has ended up with two power rings (perhaps Kyle Rayner) was incapacitated) Anyways that's what I thought. This is another of me trying to keep my hand in until I get really inspired.
I should have waited before uploading this.. or I would have noticed I hadn't added my siggie thing... my bad!
Heh but i do get to add some taglines like they have on movie posters.. taken from comments on the previous submission ;) please feel free to vote again ;)
"this is quite good, the effect on the rings is excellent." The Batmic Bugle "I like it, the rings rock, well done. I really like the composition of this picture. Thumbs up. " Winterhawk's Weekly Gazette |

This is a repost. This image has a funny story. My buddies and I were (are) diehard fans of The Batman Animated series. A while back??????? 1999 or so??????? my buddy admitted that he had a sexual crush on Harley so I decided that he needed a more three dimensional Harley to worship. So, I looked thru the archive of girls and found this pose fired up Photoshop[ and BAM??????? a Harley Quinn that could torture me any day. |

1. Source: a very, very dubious one if you know what I mean and I have no idea who the model is.
2. Describing the image: Supergirl at the JL headquarters (like in "Kingdom Come"). The table and structure were made with Green Lantern power. So why the chair is gray? Errr... Forgot to paint it with the correct color. Supergirl DOES NOT appear in "Kingdom Come" except in a small square, Android! Answer: I know, I know.

I just did Katma Tui, and 'tho' this guy is no Halle Berry, I thought I'd do the Green Lantern Corps arch-nemisis. I've been getting some very good tips lately on how to sharpen up my work. I hope it's working. What do you guys think? I really appreciate all the suggestions and comments you guys give me! (Even if they're not always complimentary- Be tough- the Mage can take it !) |

| 1 hour Supergirl By Winterhawk Winterhawk 2004/7/31 23:24 7024 9
Over at C2F, they had a challenge to do a manip in one hour. You had to include time for base model searching and any other prep work in your one hour time limit. For the full rules of this challenge you can find it here ( http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum7/HTML/003168.html ). I thought that it was an interesting Idea so I took part. Normally, I work pretty fast but this one really had me rushed. I did this on thurdays evening just after diner. Here is a breakdown of how I spent my time. 6:20 started 6:21 had base picture & opened it in photoshop 6:35 Finished making skirt from scratch using dodge and burn on a solid colour. 6:38 Finished cleaning mess on hands and arms from skirt I made. 6:45 finished making blue shirt 6:50 finished internet search for "s" symbol 6:55 cut and pasted "s" symbol onto shirt 7:00 added in some details, drop shadows and a couple of wrinkle. 7:15 finished cape 7:17 clean up from cape. 7:18 added my "W" logo 7:19 croped picture and re-sized 7:20 saved optimized for web I was really surprised on what I could do in a single hour. It was fun. Some of you guys might want to try it, it was a good training exercise if nothing else. |

If any superhero needed their own series to straighten out their story it would be Powergirl. Is she Krytonian or Atlantian? Has she regained her powers or not? No one can seem to agree. Someone at DC should do a definitive Powergirl story to clear things up. |

| C2F/Heromorph X-over: Poison Ivy & Harley Quin escape from Arkham By Juvenilemike and Winterhawk Winterhawk 2004/8/8 21:58 4748 9
C2F/Heromorph Crossover event Entry: Working with Mike was really quite fun. I quite enjoyed the process. First we threw ideas back and forth until we came up with a similiar plan as this one. Originally we were planning on having Nightwing and Robin in the picture pearched on the edge of a building about to pounce on Ivy and Harley. then we searched for base pictures. After deciding on the Base pictures to be used we started to manip the characters. I did Ivy & Nightwing and Mike did Harley & Robin. When We finished the figures we talked back and forth about the final picture and decided to have Ivy and Harley escaping from Arkham. When Mike was putting the elements of the picture together he realized that Nightwing and Robin did not really fit into the picture anymore, so they were scrapped. Mike made all of the background elements then sent me the PSD I did some minor repositioning on the elements and a bit of trimming here and there and Voila. I sent it back to Mike, and We agreed that We were done. As for Ivy, I made her with standard Maniping techniques, nothing to special. |

| HM/C2F crossover "Mirror Image" by Dark Knight & B Dark_Knight_DK 2004/8/8 22:00 6291 12
B's comments:
I started out suggesting doing Batman and Robin for this collaboration (following the vague "teamup" theme suggested by Max and Mike), but I think neither of us wanted to manip a guy... so we ended up doing the same character twice. Sort of. Here's Daniela Petrova as Stephanie Brown (aka Spoiler) and as Stephanie Brown (aka Robin).
I did Spoiler. The costuming was done the usual way, the metal I did using Dan Perceful's new tutorial at C2F, the cape and hood were done from scratch. This is just my second attempt at a cape... I think it's a bit better than the first was. The hood I based on that in a Rembrandt painting of a monk.
This was fun! DK's great to work with, and a damn good artist to boot. I think our ideas for the pic meshed together quite well. Here's to the next crossover!
Dark Knight's comments:
The most difficult part was to smudge the skin of the girl without loosing the details, because we choose a pic with a low quality, other than that It was fun creating the costume, I'm very pleased with the mask, and the background (that lighting effect looks pretty cool!!). And it was great working with B. |

| HM - C2F Crossover: Quicksilver By Shaylinn & Flash By Aharmona Aharmona 2004/8/10 20:28 6250 4
Well Shaylinn worked diligently on her Quicksilver and patiently waited for my Flash to finally arrive. This was an idea I was very nervous about; with Flash being my favorite character, I wanted my first manip to be perfect. I think the crossover went very well and I had a fantastic partner in Shaylinn. I think our desire to use the same model allowed us to see our manipping styles and really push each other to better ourselves.
Shaylinn's original comments:
We decided if we were going to do a cross we would cross everything ;) So since aharmona is more of DC fan and I'm a Marvelite we decided to do a Flash/Quicksilver crossover and while we were at it did a crossgender as well. So for the manip itself.... aharmona provided the base image so I am unsure of the model. Started with a nude image and reworked and recolored both the costume pieces and the hair to match QS. The costume was done with three separate layers of recoloring and then cutting out the correct shapes. Then a couple of layer effects over and I was lucky enough to get the shine you see. Then since aharmona was going to have Flash on the Cosmic treadmill I thought I would have QS working on an "alien machine" to account for the pose. So I found a cool image on the net that I frankensteined into the device you see. The globe on the top was originally silver but a layer effect gave me the glowing orb look I wanted. Once that was set I had to slightly alter the position of QS's back arm and the back leg so they would rest on the machine. I also altered the angle and reworked both feet since in the original pic she was on her tip toes. And I shortened her hair a bit to something I felt was more appropriate for a speedster. The background is two images I found on the net worked together with lightning added to the Flash side and that side recolored to match Flash's dominant color. I was trying for a spacial rift sort of feel trying to make it seem as if they were working from their own universes to save both. |

| The Huntress Comic by Dark Knight Dark_Knight_DK 2004/8/10 21:49 6447 8
For awhile I wanted to work with a base pic of a mexican woman, so I found Barbara Mori, she's a mexican actress ( soap operas), her acting is good (too bad mexican soap opreas's sucks) she's beatiful and have a great body.
Comments on the pic:
She wasn't nude (too bad) so I have to erase her ripped top and the lower area of the bikini. Then i have to reconstruct her chest (it took a lot of time, and I guess I did her boobs a little bigger, they look nice!), the mask was a little difficult beacause her face has a lot of shadow areas (guessing where the face beggin and ends), this time I try somenthing new, I added a little texture on the costume to help the leather effect (thanks batmic).
BTW: Espero que te guste esto Barbara (like she's going to see this) |

I've spent so much time doing obscure Silver Age characters that I thought it was about time I did a genuine S.A. bigshot. So, here's a pic of Barry Allen and his nephew-in-law Wally West taking a leisurely jog through Central City. I used a couple of college athletes for the Fastest Men Alive. |

| Powergirl issue #1 - "PG vs. Despero" R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2004/8/13 12:24 4854 5
Another fictional cover. I'd thought I put the underused Powergirl against an underused villain, in this case "Despero". They have fought a few times in the past (with JLA) and usually other member interfered when PG and Despero were getting down to business. Here they are one on one. |

| Adventure in Outerspace Jover 2004/8/15 11:45 4383 10
For the cover challenge I wanted to combine vintage DC logos and modern characters. Arisia and Katma were two of the many alien Green Lanterns that visited Earth. I got lucky finding good flying poses so the only frakensteining I did was changing their arms and hair. The background, shuttle and astronauts were all found using Alta Vista image search.

| Wonder Woman - new costume Android 2004/8/15 12:58 5810 10
1. Source: Adriana Sklenarikova from http://www.babefocus.com/viewgallery.php?celebid=8 Are you old enough to drive? No? Then you do not have permission to visit this site.
2. Commenting image: Our favorite princess starting a rescue mission to save some poor soul from the domain of Hades. Well... I don't think she should do that.
3. Making of: Step 01: the original Adriana's image had no legs and hands. It was a hard mission. Step 02: resizing head. The head was too big (visit the above site). I HAD to "fix" it. Step 03: the costume. This was the major problem. I made my best on making a "movie" costume but I am not an ancient costume researcher (I don't know if I wrote it right). I believe that an isolated civilization is condemned to evolve very slowly (as its fashion) but there is an enormous difference between what I think and what I can do. Step 04: background. A lot of cave images mixed together.
P.S.: Did you notice that Diana's comic book costume has nothing in common to an ancient greek culture? I believe this would have to be revisited. One more thing: I do not endorse the idea of having this woman in the Wonder Woman's role. I simply liked her pose in the original photo. |

I've went back to Charile O'Neale for the face on this one. The arrogance in her expressions is perfect for Powergirl. For Knockout I used Tiffany Taylor.

| Supergirl in flight PowermasterJazz 2004/8/20 3:50 4949 7
Some frankensteining was used with the cape. I used bedsheets from several pics and smudged em together. Her hand is from a pic of Jenny McCarthy. Some of her hair is from Torrie Wilson, which I touched up with the paintbrush. The model is Jamie Bergman from Son of the Beach. She was leaning against a lifeguard station railing so that's why I had to replace her hand. Done on Photoshop. |

| SuperGirl - Peaceful Summer LocalHero 2004/8/21 9:58 5403 14
Well this is a manip I have been working on of Kristiana Locken as Supergirl (the actual photomanip isn't finished but I wanted to try something different with what I have done so far.) The original pic of Kristiana was of a magazine cover and she is wearing a purple swimsuit. I manipped on the costume (will provide details when I post the actual finished manip) and then have been trying to tweak it for the past week or so. Anyways I wanted to submit something new and I thought I might try giving it a sketchy look. I have tried this before with various levels of success and failure but I think this one turned out ok. I merged all the layers in my WIP together to get Kristiana in costume cut out on a layer of her own then I found a nice background at eldargraphics.com which matched the lighting and coloring of kristiana quite well. flipped the background to match pose and merged both layers together. duplicated the layer. On one layer I added some random white noise and then used my trusty old penpartner tablet and began to 'scratch' away at the picture to give the impression of pencil strokes. The other layer I used the edge preserving smooth at max and then enhanced edges and finally traced contours to give 'layout' lines and add some definition back to some of the shapes. all in all I think it came out quite well.. and now back to the manip itself. |
