On board his ship, before leaving for Apokolips, Darkseid and his ever faithful weasel Desaard admire their latest captives.....
Desaard...."My Lord Darkseid......The Princess wrestles in her sleep....I think she awakens".
Darkseid.."Desaard...you worry too much. The stasis chambers will keep them all sedated.....the Amazon included. None of them them shall awake before we reach Apokolips"......

well, well, well. i actually completed a piece. glory be and all that. anyway, i'm not that happy with the effects or the background, but i figure something is better than nothing, and i'll prolly return to it anyway, if i get the time.
and oops, yeah its a supergirl piece. and while i still prefer my loli-supergirl as my main supergirl, just cause she contrasts so well with my powergirl, i like to do a womanly supergirl every now and then.
though oddly enough, even when i make her a bit older, i still prefer her to be willowly, and not too stacked or muscular. prolly just me, i guess.
anyway, Supergirl is (C) to DC.
lets hope i can get other stuff done, but i doubts it. |

| Silver Sorceress: Re-Imagined! blubeetle3 2005/9/3 15:38 4302 6
"Who in the flipping HECK is the Silver Soceress?"
The Silver Sorceress was a character created in the pages of the old JLI comic books. She was one of a trio of superheroes who came from an alternate (Marvel-based) Earth that was destroyed during a nuclear war. Silver Sorceress (Scarlet Witch), Blue Jay (Ant-Man), and Wandjina the Thunderer (Thor) were determined not to let that happen on DC's Earth and set about ridding the world of ALL nuclear weapons.
The one thing that always bugged me about the Silver Sorceress was that her costume WASN'T silver! It was a bronze color. (Someone should have notified the colorist.) So, here is the RE-IMAGINED Silver Sorceress. And when I think "skin-tight, silver bodysuit" (and, really, who doesn't think about it), I think of ol' "7 o' 9". |

This was a request for "Marvel1" (over at animotios.com) using "Hooterella" as the base for She-Hulk. (Also the Saphire Fox Hair w/ the In Love Again styles/colors) She's a pretty simple character (visually) so I spiced it up a bit w/ some props (made in Photoshop) and a background pic from the web. (gotta love google!) Here ya go bro! Hope you like it! -Leif. P.S. Sorry it's big, I couldn't bring myself to reduce it any smaller! |

| SHAZAM!!! whiz 2012/5/6 9:30 2317 0
~Captain Marvel is a fictional comic book superhero, originally published by Fawcett Comics and later by DC Comics. Created in 1939 by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker, the character first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 (February 1940). With a premise that taps adolescent fantasy, Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Billy Batson, a youth who works as a radio news reporter and was chosen to be a champion of good by the wizard Shazam. Whenever Billy speaks the wizard's name, he is struck by a magic lightning bolt that transforms him into an adult superhero.~ enjoy :) |

| Shadow of the Bat bonds0097 2007/8/1 1:10 2423 5
Bruce is standing in his study in front of a portrait of his parents, contemplating or whatnot, while the shadow of his true self looms behind him. My original idea was to have Bruce in some sort of everyday situation, say a WayneCorp board meeting, with the shadow behind him but I like this more because it incorporates his dearly departed mom and dad.
I tried to go for a sad, but not too sad, expression on Bruce's face. He is the Batman after all, not some whiny emo kid. :) Hopefully I pulled that one off.
For the painting, I rendered an old couple and then postworked the render to look like a painting (in CS3) and put it in the frame.
I used a bunch of stuff for this render, mostly DAZ products and of course P3DA's awesome superhero cowl (converted to work with David). The figure is the same as the one in my previous Batman Pic (he's actually wearing his costume in this picture but it's invisible :)).
The render was done in Poser 7 with very little postwork. I rendered the background, shadow map, and foreground figure separately and then composited them in CS3. The shadow is actually off because originally one of the ears was in a dark area of the painting and couldn't be scene. I was going to re-render it all but I made this pic for an Animotions challenge and didn't have to time so I just moved things over and tried to fix it with photoshop.
Again, comments, criticisms and suggestion are always greatly appreciated.
Oh, and another thing... the ledge on which the painting is sitting is all messed up. I'm not sure what happened but I think it could have been because I had smooth polygons on when I rendered, any other ideas? I'd like to prevent something like that from happening in the future. |

| Shadow of the Bat whiz 2011/2/24 14:40 2634 5
~ In early 1939, the success of Superman in Action Comics prompted editors at the comic book division of National Publications (the future DC Comics) to request more superheroes for its titles. In response, Bob Kane created "the Bat-Man." Collaborator Bill Finger recalled "Kane had an idea for a character called 'Batman', and he'd like me to see the drawings. I went over to Kane's, and he had drawn a character who looked very much like Superman with kind of ... reddish tights, I believe, with boots ... no gloves, no gauntlets ... with a small domino mask, swinging on a rope. He had two stiff wings that were sticking out, looking like bat wings. And under it was a big sign ... BATMAN." Finger offered such suggestions as giving the character a cowl instead of a simple domino mask, a cape instead of wings, and gloves, and removing the red sections from the original costume. Finger said he devised the name Bruce Wayne for the character's secret identity: "Bruce Wayne's first name came from Robert Bruce, the Scottish patriot. Bruce, being a playboy, was a man of gentry. I searched for a name that would suggest colonialism. I tried Adams, Hancock ... then I thought of Mad Anthony Wayne."He later said his suggestions were influenced by Lee Falk's popular The Phantom, a syndicated newspaper comic strip character with which Kane was familiar as well. Various aspects of Batman's personality, character history, visual design, and equipment were inspired by contemporary popular culture of the 1930s, including movies, pulp magazines, comic strips, newspaper headlines, and even aspects of Kane himself.Kane noted especially the influence of the films The Mark of Zorro (1920) and The Bat Whispers (1930) in the creation of the iconography associated with the character, while Finger drew inspiration from literary characters Doc Savage, The Shadow, and Sherlock Holmes in his depiction of Batman as a master sleuth and scientist.~(excerpt from wikipedia) enjoy, lee |
