I was so happy with how the SuperGirl cover came out that I felt in the mood to do a Wonder Woman one too.
Enjoy. |

| ROCINATE Presents: SuperGirl Issue #1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/3/27 20:00 6838 17
As promised here is my photo manipulation of SuperGirl. The model is Jackie Bean. I thought she had the perfect look for SG, plus when I found this pose I was sold.
Enjoy! |

| ROCINATE Presents: Mary Marvel - Issue 1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/2 9:53 7055 22
Shazam! Here is another in this series. For Mary Marvel I made some changes to the costume, most notably the boot length and skirt length. I changed the colour of her cape from white to a darker red and made the whole suit out of a more PVC type material. All of these changes were done in an attempt to make her a bit more sexy looking. That seems to be the theme that I am carrying over in this set of covers both visually and in attitude.
Enjoy!

| ROCINATE Presents: Black Canary Issue - 1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/5 14:46 6357 12
There were requests that I do a ???????not so super powered??????? manipulation next. So I decided to stay classic and go with Black Canary. To compensate for the powers I added her bike. Believe it or not the model and the bike are from totally different sources. If I were smarter I should have just took an image from a ???????Easy Rider??????? magazine and manipulated that but for some reason I do things the hard way.
I know I????????m making a controversial choice here with the model. I decided that I wanted to uses models of varying ages. For example: I made Super girl really young on here cover. Because I used Black Canary????????s older costume I decided to go with a little older looking model.
Black Canary also didn????????t have a logo per se, so I had to come up with one to use (notice that it is also silver-leafed on the gas tank).
Enjoy!

| ROCINATE Presents ???????? PowerGirl ???????? Issue 1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/14 11:35 6119 19
Hey guys here it is! I????????ve done so many PowerGirl manipulations that for this one I wanted it to be different. I????????ve made some minor changes to her costume like the belt and suit (this one is a bit more??????? supportive). I went through about have a dozen different models for the faces. PowerGirl is a tricky one. She has to be beautiful, yet strong and have a lots of attitude. I thing my choice here captures all that. ???????You want her, but you are afraid what she????????d going to do.???????
For the symbol I used a design that was part of her white/yellow suit. It is also incorporated in her belt.
I think that this is the last of this series. I may revisit it later but I think I got the major players out of the way (plus a couple characters I thought could use updating).
Enjoy, it????????s been a pleasure!

| ROCINATE Presents ???????? Fire & Ice ???????? Issue 1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/11 16:07 6193 19
I didn????????t want to get too repetitive with these covers so here is one that????????s a little different. I was thinking of doing separate Fire and Ice issues but they are such a great duo that I had to merge them. The thing about Fire and Ice as character is that just like powers they are totally opposite people. Fire is the confident extrovert while Ice is the shy quite one. This too has been demonstrated in the costumes. The 90????????s era Fire looked like a supermodel bike chick with lots of exposed skin. Ice????????s costume was a one piece suit with a shirt. Fire was voluptuously gorgeous, while Ice was small and cute.
I didn????????t want to go with any of their previous costumes with this one. The 80????????s ones were a bit cheesy and the 90????????s ones were too predictable. So I went back to their 80????????s costumes and re-imagined them. I combined the look of he 80????????s Fire costume with the biker attitude of the 90????????s and came up with a retro flame-job suit. For ice I took her 80????????s costume and made it look more like a wet suit.
Once again these were characters that didn????????t have symbols to represent them so I made up two that fit their new themes.
Enjoy!

| ROCINATE Presents ???????? Big Barda ???????? Issue 1 R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/7 11:08 6295 16
Initially I was going to do her up in the traditional armor. I started working on it but it really isn????????t all that sexy. She does refer to it as ???????War Armor??????? so it would be interesting if she only pulled it out when necessary (sort of like what Wonder Woman did in Kingdom Come).
So I went back to an unarmored costume that was more along the lines of what I was looking for, although I changed it quite a bit. That being said this one ended up being a lot more work then I planned. There were a lot of little pieces I had to create from scratch.
Over the years it seems like Barda has just become Mr. Miracle????????s sidekick. Mr. Miracle goes on solo adventures so why can????????t she?
Enjoy!

| ROCINATE Presents - Girls of DC R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2005/4/19 10:48 5471 22
I've had lots of requests for this so here it is. I don't really like reposts so I added an extra character (so there would be at least something new).
Enjoy! |

| Robin the Girl Wonder EvilDeadAlive 2006/5/25 20:28 5453 3
I felt like posting something old that I made. This was one of the 1st pics I made. I found this cool picture of Susan Ward and didn't know what to make with it. So I made her into Robin. The top black part of the cape and the belt are from the Robin toy. It just worked better than what I could make at the time. The rest is all photoshop. The arms are not the greatest and you can see where I cut the hair. But for a somewhat first time. I dig it. The background is from a Jessica Alba picture. |

| Robin IV by Heroglyph Heroglyph 2003/8/29 9:27 7988 9
This is my version of Carrie Kelly from the Dark Knight Returns all grown up. Yes, I know she became Cat-Girl in the sequel but I choose to ignore that since it was such a letdown. |

| Robin -- Woman of Wonder Shump1 2006/8/6 23:09 7046 34
My take on Robin. In my sort of Elseworlds version, Batgirl becomes deeply distraught after her lover, Robin the Boy Wonder, is killed by Catwoman. After a period of mourning, she modifies her costume, and her mission, and becomes Robin, Woman of Wonder! |

A Friend came to me the other day "3 Words. David. Tennant.Riddler." I pondered the Idea. "I can see it." I said. It bugged me for a few days until I could get it out of my Head.

| REDO: CHEETAH Hisstoryman 2008/8/5 17:37 3852 7
Update Note: Completely redid the uniform, this time utilizing desaturated layers along with various color blends. I added fangs and a brighter set of eyes.
The original version can be found here.
Old description:
This one was back in October of '07.
A lot of "stamp" tool on this one. I saw spots for a few days after this one, got darn blinding after a while. This is a blend of the Golden and Silver Age Cheetahs with some creative license on my part.
Mostly happy with this one, but it is on my list for an '08 touch up |

| Red Son Wonder Woman masterofdisaster127 2008/3/19 14:16 5349 11
I decided to do a little bit of a different Wonder Woman than the typical. I chose the Red Son Wonder Woman. for those not familiar, it was a story arc speculating what it would be like if some of our favorite DC heroes would have existed in the Communist Soviet Union rather than the USA. The model is Alina Vacariu. |
|
| Red Son Supergirl masterofdisaster127 2008/4/16 13:34 7330 9
After working on my Red Son Wonder Woman I thought, "Hmmm, they never introduced Supergirl into the Red Son story arc." So, here's my stab at it. I think the Wonder Woman came out better, but I still like this one. Taking some of the critique I received on the Wonder Woman project I paid a little more attention to the edging of the base picture and I morphed the model's (Laura Vandervoort) face to give her a little bit of a scowl and make her a little more "mean" looking.
Hope you all like. |
