The next two characters are a pair of sisters who are essentially crime bosses who also own a few high scale nightclubs in the area. They have an Alice in Wonderland theme in that one calls herself the Red Queen and the other Queen of Hearts. (Their real names are Hartley and Astrid Queen.)
Hartley is the older of the two and the more sinister.
As far as Astrid goes, she is just as wicked but has kind of a Paris Hilton party girl feel to her. She is a redhead.

Hi! I put this up a few hours ago but it seems to have disappeared, so I'm re-posting it. Here we go! :)
Over the course of my writing and drawing BANZAI GIRL at Sirius and BANZAI GIRLS at Arcana, I was able to fill the series with all manner of monsters, creatures, and other foes for my namesake Jinky to fight -- everything from Asian monsters of myth and legend to giant Japanese robots. Essentially, I managed to include all the trappings of the genre.
The one thing missing from BANZAI GIRLS has been a bigger, badder female foe to cause Jinky grief. So when I decided to work on a new BANZAI GIRLS storyline, which should come out sometime in 2011, I promised myself to remedy that.
I decided to create a character that was a visual dichotomy: She would be someone severely dressed, goth-like, in spikes, a collar, spiked hair, tattoos, severe heels, and a punishingly-tight corset...and offset them by coloring them all in non-threatening, sweet shades of pink. Here's my first drawing of her: PINQUE!

Not the Turtle-fighting Shredder. Couldn't think of a better name for a heavily burned assassin character who can control and manipulate paper, so I pulled Shredder out of my....head.
Most recently finished webcomic page, it was supposed to be a bit more--hell, a lot more--ominous feeling then this, but something got lost in the translation from "This is gonna be so awesome" in my brain, to what came out on the paper. |

It is the classic battle, unstoppable force meets immovable object. On the streets of Manhattan's Alphabet City the animalistic killer Jailbreak is faced with with the brains and brawn of Brickhouse. She is the only one to ever beat him hand to hand. Who will win and can the neighborhood survive this confrontation.
Notes: Those that watched this one in the Hellfire may have noticed I completely redid the lighting and many of the textures. I think the change in poses addresses the issue of them not exactly looking at each other. I hope  ! Just about all the texturizing (sic) and adjustments to shadows and highlights were done in PS CS4 and the render in Poser 8.
As for colors I like to use more traditional "comic" colors in my work, I always have, I call it my "Jack Kirby palette"  That's my color theory and I am sticking to it! Dammit!

This is my idea for a cover for my BANZAI GIRL SPECIAL, which will probably come out late next year. Line art by me (it's all pencil only, no inks). Color is by my good friend Katrina Mae Hao.

| BANZAI GIRL: KAT TO THE RESCUE!

"Kat" -- otherwise known as Katie J -- has been a main character from the beginning of the comic book series. When we first saw her years ago in BANZAI GIRL #1, she was a feisty little kid of about 12 years old.
Now, in the issue that will be released next year, Kat is all grown up and working for the government organization where her stepfather (who is Banzai Girl's Dad) also works -- and where she proved herself to be such a natural adventurer.
In this sequence, aided by Wilfred, Kat is on a hunt to find her kidnapped former school chum. She's discovering that all of Jinky's friends and family are being victimized.
The hunt is on!

After Kat smashes in the door and finds her kidnapped old flame Rommel strapped to a chair, she quickly unties him as he assures her his kidnapper hadn't set up any kind of trap or explosive. Clearly, he was wrong!
Meanwhile, I'm back! This is the first fresh glimpse of my character Banzai Girl, all grown up and owning her own fashions-and-perfume store! (Oh, and for those of you paying attention, my dress in this scene is actually a lovely blouse I bought in real life from Cache`!)
Coloring is, as usual, by my colorist Katrina Mae Hao.

| This is Nyx and Dr. Victoria Eisenshock. Nyx is on the left. She is kind of a demonic Batman/Huntress type character who fights against her evil nature and tries to do good. She is a gadgeteer so she might ahve soem items on a belt and so on. The other character is Dr. Eisenshock. Dr. Eisenshock is a crackpot scientist with minimal morals and an unhealthy interest in fringe science, sex and creating her own monsters. So Dr. Eisenshock designs the gadegts that Nyx uses. |

| Her original outfit had a huge cutout that made her seem more risque. Gave her more coverage with a new suit and a different face morph and skin texture. I suck at Poser magnets so just broke down and smudged her front to fake fabric stretch. Think she's close now to finalized. Except her logo... I suck at that too. |

Once upon a time Speedway was a macho, tough talkin bot who enjoyed a good fight and downing energon with his buddies at Maccadams old oil house. (well STILL is) But then came the day he and his team was assigned to fend off a decepticon raid on a facility that produced protoforms. An assignment that ended disastrously with the destruction of the facility and Speedway receiving massive damage. Knowing he wouldn?t survive the trip back to a repair bay Medic Ratchet did the only thing to save his life. By transferring Speedways spark into the only undamaged protoform left in the facility. A body that, much to Speedways horror, was female!
Now stuck with this new form for the duration of the war Speedway is forced to live with it and endure the jokes of some fellow autobots and a few decepticons. Speedway most among the autobus ranks longs to see the Great war come to an end. Not just to see the tyranny of Megatron gone but so he can finally have his spark transferred to a proper chassis and forever say goodbye to this small, pink, slender, pink, underpowered, pink, curvy, pink, SLAGGIN PINK, female body! |

I continue to be surprised at all the amazing work on Heromorph that only goes half the distance when it comes to conceptualizing the scenes. How many images continue to be the character just standing around, doing nothing, usually in some generic background....when it takes roughly the same amount of effort to create a compelling scene of some sort where the character is DOING something, engaging the viewer and character/action/emotion/abilities or just plain fun? I think this is my official Heromorph crusade! :)
It's been awhile since my last posting, because I've been working on a project for Sony. So I decided to try something a little different and a little more based on real life. Or as real as my life gets, anyway.
My daughter Jasmine -- whom a lot of people that know us refer to as "Banzai Girl 2.0" -- is really into SAILOR MOON these days. So much so, that I bought a really nice custom Sailor Moon costume for her, along with real boots and handmade jewelry to match. Yup, she's been running around the house pretending to be the character. A lot.
So I decided, "Why not do a piece with Sailor Moon, and Jasmine, and me?" The room I'm depicting really IS Jazzy's bedroom. I added Jasmine in costume having a grand time; Sailor Moon hanging out with her; and me -- looking a touch bedraggled as only a mom can look -- kinda of miffed that Jasmine prefers dressing up more as Sailor Moon than as Banzai Girl! To add more authenticity, I added other stuffed animals (including Hello Kitty) and our own Wilfred character equally miffed by the appearance of his cat counterpart from the Sailor Moon series.
I hope you enjoy it! I'll post a full-color version as soon as Mae Hao finishes it.
