The five beings behind us are menacing to be sure, and instantly they are upon us. Dargo (their leader squares off against Black Scarab. I know Dargo from his run-ins with Spydra, and try to match magic with Scarab is a huge mistake. However, he appears to hold his own. The big Demon grabs hold of Panterra who underestimates the massive beasts speed and is slammed into the ground with great enough force that I feel the ground shudder several yards away. The black, winged figure goes straight for Batmaster and the two of them begin an aerial dance of death. However, Abominous has apparently hired som knock-off ninja to come after me and his busted skills are no match for three hundred years of true ninjitsu and experience so he's dead before he can swing his blade once. I normally don't go lethal when I'm with the Scions but I've lost two wives to Abominous and that makes this personal so all bets are off. Before the assassin's body hits the ground I toss my sword to Scarab who despite being blind and in the middle of a mage duel catches it effortlessly.
"Use that to cast your spells it will do the rest...like a wand."
"Where are you going?"
"After Abominous. It's time for some payback."
As I turn away I see the mighty spell slinger point my sword at Dargo...who simply ceases to be, no explosion, no screams...just...gone. I know we've won the day.
Hurriedly I make my way through the massive facility and repeatedly I yell.
"Abominous!!! Come die you bastard!!"
Not poetic I know but the sentiment is there. I just want my peace of him. Two guards rush me and with my two pistols in hand I send them to their maker. Lather rinse, repeat. Again and again his men fall and my ammo never runs out...Folks are never prepared for this kind of magic and technology and the fight is completely one-sided.
Until...
"Are you so eager to die Obsidian Mask?"
His voice comes from everywhere, even my computer can't locate him.
"Dude, I can't wait to die. What about you? Do you plan on running some more or do you have the courage to face me here and now?"
"Bah such feeble attempts to goad me into battle will not work. Attacking my courage, with base insults will not cause me to tip my hand so easily. I am not some comic book villain you can lure out. We will battle Obsidian, but when we do it will be on my terms."
"You sniveling coward I'll meet you anytime anywhere."
"But of course you will. You need your petty revenge like the misguided mortal you are."
What I say next, stops him cold. It also begs the question: How could he have not known.
"There is where you are wrong, I am no mortal. I'm an elf you piece of feted waste, I am Luminesti and I have all of eternity to find you and rip out your blackened heart from your chest and show it to you while it yet beats in my hand!"
There's the poetry.
"So you believe, but we shall see. I bid you farewell assassin."
"That's ninja you schmuck!"
I ran out of poetry
The room goes silent and I hear massive footsteps coming my way fast, I turn to see the demon heading straight for me at a full charge. At that very same moment I hear scarab over my commlink.
"We have the Guardian but two of the royal guard escaped."
With but a thought my sword is in my hand and lok of rage in the demons eyes is replaced with horror as it realizes I've just severed it's demonic head from it's neck with a single stroke. There's a gurgling sound as it tries to utter some hate-filled word and it's lifeless body slumps to the floor with a sickening thud. I remove one of the horns as a trophy (I have several demon parts) look up in time to see the Black Winged warrior bear witness and then immediately fly away like the coward it is. The day is won, Infinity-Man is safe but severely injured, and poor Guardian is really messed up after realizing what she's just done. The remaining Scions join us and we debate what to do next. As Cerebron delves the mind of Guardian he discovers Abominous next move. He's going after the IGFW council. A move that will certainly leave the IGFW in dissaray. That can only mean he's preparing for war, a war we cannot allow to happen. We're going to need more help.

| Another Team up with Batman. This time to contrast my Bat from DC's Bat. As one can plainly tell there are some distinct differences...My bat can fly, and my bat is a Vampire! No utility belt or and real gadgets to speak of, and my bat is NOT the world's greatest detective...he's a good detective...with Vampire perception powers. |

While I'm not ready to share the secret at this time I have found a way to set up my characters so that i only have to dress and shape them one time only.Once I let this secret out all Daz users will be doing this. |

Their first clue leads them to and abandoned warehouse. Looks like the skylights are going to be the way in for these two stealthy characters. |

| Every good ship needs a captain and the Sphinx is no different. Bastet however is no mere captain or commander. Bastet is a goddess, and the Egyptian god unlike other gods, have no avatars and appear in their immortal flesh. Bastet is a goddess of War, and a protector of the Egyptian territories which are not members of the IGFW. As divine beings mortal weapons and magic and even many superpowers, have no effect on them whatsoever. However, if someone should find a way to kill these powerful beings then these particular gods would be destroyed permanently since killing any god in it's native realm results in permanent death. This tends to make the Egyptian gods less tolerant of rebellions and uprisings and mortals in general. Though a few are incredibly arrogant, and what one might call "ignorant" of what mortals in the 44th century are capable of. Anubis was one such example and he paid with his life...his divine role is now filled by Chaz, Guardian of the realm of the dead and Guide of souls. A position Chaz is none too happy with but performs dutifully. |

| After a night of carousing, This Dakkalfar who still hasn't told me her name, decides to take me to her place for a night cap. I'm a bit paranoid and immediately my mind starts going through every worst case scenario my imagination can dream up. I don't like secretive women, without exception and this dark elf is about as secretive as can be. Still, she has a nice layout, and her house is pretty cool too. I'm supposed to be relaxing here but I can't just can't seem to overcome 200 years of combat training and adventuring which keeps screaming "She's gonna eat your eyeballs...your cybernetic eyebals!!!!!". I know it may sound silly to someone on the outside but I have seen things that would fool any man and I have run across Succubus, Arachnie, Shapeshifters, and all kind of creatures that all like to disguise themselves as beautiful women and then eat or soul suck the guy dumb enough to fall for that kind of thing. Subtly I scan her with my eyes, to an onlooker it would look like I'm checking her out...I am but not just because she's smoking hot. Yeah come to think of it she is really smoking hot...one could even describe her beauty as unearthly. It's at this point that I (despite the fact my scans say she just an elf) know something's up no woman just looks that hot without magical help. But she has to know she wouldn't be able to charm me with magic. Enthrallment spells don't work on elves...any elf for that matter it one of our greatest benefits well that and being able to see in pitch darkness. Still my instincts aren't usually wrong and I have learned to listen when they're telling me to be cautious...looks like drinks are out...damn I bet she has some choice vodka in there too. |

| Mercenaries of Obsidian's calibur don't usually pull bodyguard jobs...security yes but not simple bodyguard duty...but cash is low and the crew needs to be paid properly for the hell they've been going through so just one Babysitting job won't hurt will it? The spoiled snotty little rock star couldn't possibly be too much for one man to handle. However, someone is trying to kill her and no one knows why...is it an obsessed fan...or something more? |

| Many of the Gods and Goddesses in the Galaxies have worshipers on multiple planets and interact freely with mortals using Avatars like one seen here. Aphrodite is the Goddess of Wisdom and Battle , is a master tactician, and a lover of peace. Among the gods of Olympus she is unmatched in combat and none have bested her. She is the patron of Amazons everywhere and female warriors in general often venerate her. Her avatar is incredibly powerful and can go toe to toe with powerhouses like Infinity-Man and Guardian. As a seeker of peace she usually attempts to resolve conflicts through diplomacy but combat is NEVER off the table. Technology is not new to the Olympians and theirs is some of the most advanced thanks to Hephaestus who is on top of all the latest advancements and makes many of his own. |

I walk into my new quarters aboard the refitted Lillun, and I head for the shower but as I remove my helmet I catch a glance at myself in the mirror...and then on reflex I put three rounds into it. I didn't recognize my own reflection, and why? Because my skin is as black as ink. What in the for real fuck? I call the only person who can offer any insight into this sudden transformation...The Black Mantis. In a flash of lightning he's standing before me and the son of a bitch immediately begins to snicker.
"This is funny to you? Are you serious?"
"Yeah" he laughs..."just a little."
"Well would you mind telling me what the hell is going on? I'm not a Drow, Daakalfar, or any other kind of dark elf."
"Is there um, something wrong with being a Drow?"
The tone in his voice suggest he thinks I might be racist..he's got to be kidding.
"Don't be an ass. Your insinuative tone is seriously uncalled for."
"Heh, you're really starting to loosen up, that stick of yours might actually have made it all the way out of your ass. Seriously, that quiet terror of me was getting old, still don't get too carried away. Okay I'll tell you what's going on. It's simple actually, didn't you ever notice how dark Moonshadow's skin was, I mean her skin was like, seriously black...even for our kind."
"Well, okay maybe a little."
"She was goddess of shadows and intrigue, and now you are. Being a Drow, and change in her skin tone would have been nearly unnoticeable by outsiders. However, on you...it would literally be a change of night and day but look at your eyes, they're still the same so I'm guessing the change is just cosmetic...Heh heh"
"So I'm stuck like this?"
"I'm afraid so...well at least for as long as your remain Lord of Shadows and Intrigue. Just be glad those spider legs come out of your back and not your waist. I don't think you'd do so well as a half spider. Ha Ha!"
He leaves as quickly as he came and I go back to the bathroom. With a wave of my hand the mirror is reassembled so I can get a perfect view of my now jet black skin. I need a nap.

| Anubis (aka Chaz) Guardian of the gates of the e\afterlife and guide to the dead. The original Anubis was killed by an immortal named Charles "Chaz" Wilkinson when he used an ancient relic of power known as the "Beast slayer blade" Chaz had gained his immortality by birthright and is currently no longer considered among the born immortals in their struggle for the "One". Upon killing Anubis Chaz was immediately bestowed with a Divine form (pictured here) and powers and knowledge of his newly gained Portfolio. As Anubis he stands, vigilantly guarding the underworld from would be trespassers and those seeking to contact the deceased. Chaz has a mortal life and adventures much as he did in life but when duty calls he is instantly transported across time and space to the gates of the underworld where he confronts anyone seeking entrance to the afterlife. He is also present when the dead are being judged, holding the scales that weigh their hearts. He has convinced the other gods to only judge the dead once per year freeing everyone up for other matters. Anubis (Chaz) is hated by Seth who despises Chaz for killing his son and is secretly plotting to remove Chaz from power so that he can kill him in the only way Birthright immortals can be killed...by removing his head. |

Harley receives a transmission from my old friend Panterra, who claims he's killed me, so immediately I head to his location to sort the whole thing out. Obviously he's come across one my clones, and has mistaken it for being the real me. Not that hard to do when you consider they have all of my memories, but this one must have lost it's ever loving mind. Panterra is a powerhouse and his power armor gives him the strength to lift 80 tons, he's easily as skilled as I am and his Adamantine/Mythril armor is nearly as indestructible as my own. he carries a vast array of weapons as well. I wouldn't want to take him on unless I had no other choice.
Apparently Panterra was tracking down some downloaded data and ran across this loser and in the heat of battle inadvertently snapped the poor guy's neck.
When I transport in I can tell my old friend doesn't quite recognize me. In fact he looks kinda stunned.
He immediately goes into a fighting stance and squares off against me.
"Whoa whoa whoa, relax dude, I'm not here for a fight."
"He said the same thing. Then I guess he changed his mind."
I look down at the clone's corpse and I shudder. Panterra is no joke when it comes to hand to hand at that clone should have known better...Why would he do something that foolish?
"Look old cat, I can explain the whole thing if you just hear me out."
After a few minutes he's up to speed and a few scans from is equipment confirm what I'm saying.
"Obsidian, that is really messed up so this Nechronos guy is trying to what exactly?"
"We're not sure, apparently he wants something from the Black Mantis but nobody knows what that is exactly."
"Well I've never run into the Black Mantis so I'm really no help. In fact I came here looking for some missing Namaean scientists who were involved with some new kind of transport technology."
"I hate to say it bro, but I think those people are as good as dead, Nechronos doesn't really take prisoners"
I gesture to the dead clone.
"So I gather. By the way, If that was a clone of you, I'd work on my fighting style if I were you. He was very sloppy."
"Yeah well I'm a god now so... Besides those clones are a bit cocky and I'm usually full of trepidation and anxiety."
"Perhaps that's a flaw in their creation process?"
"Maybe but I am tired of running into them."
"Well if I hear anything or run across anymore of them I'll keep you posted."
"Sure thing pal."
"Good Hunting Obsidian."
With that he returns to his investigation and I return to my ship with the clone. No answers today just more questions...this is getting old fast. |

"17 what's the situation?"
"Same as the last twelve times, it's a damned slaughter. I got dead ninjas everywhere they took out the entire clan by the looks of it. How do they keep beating us to the punch?"
"Did the target have absorbium?"
"Roger, but no Infinitium."
"Resurrection defeated as always?"
"Yep. At least they're consistent. What about the other teams?"
"They found the same thing, every time."
"Alright we'll head back and , we'll discuss our options. We have to find the prime before they do or everyone, everywhere is screwed."
"You don't have to remind me Bloodmask we are all well aware of the consequences for failure. Cybermask out."
We're tired of coming up short, our victories are too few and their numbers are too great. They turn our armor to powder and preventing any hope of revivification. We only know for certain that they're after the prime and none of us are it. We have to get to him or her before they do, hopefully we'll find the prime first and bolster our ranks at the same time. The Black Mantis has refused to interfere as has his successor so we're on our own against this unknown threat. God help us all.

I give you Prince Analaeus Sathari guilty of high treason against the dreaded Sathari Empire. His ability to discern good and evil drove him to attack his cruel sister and even more cruel father. The second battle leaving him grievously injured and horribly disfigured.Now many years later he leads a rebellion as heir apparent his army is loyal to the death but he does not have the power to defeat his father...until the his friend Obsidian Mask arrives needing his help.
"A favor for a favor but not until my father is overthrown and his tyranny has ended."
An agreement that would cost Michael dearly.
