| Buddy by Dan Parent MF 2012/10/17 18:13 1665 1
On the first day of Mid-Ohio-Con, the first thing I did was commission Archie comics artist Dan Parent to draw my OC, Buddy the Pal Gal, in the Archie style. This was the end result. Needless tosay, I am most pleased with it. Don't you wish you had a buddy this cute? |

Frostbite is the surly clone of Frosty the Snowman in my own comics universe. |

Just as her husband, Frostbite, is an evil clone of Frosty, Krackle is an evil clone of Frosty's wife, Crystal. |

| O.C. - Jack Frost darth_paul 2012/10/25 6:22 1560 3
Well, I guess that "Jack Frost" can't really be considered an "original character", but this is my version of the classic winter mythological figure, plus I've given him a twin sister, so that in itself is kind of original right? Although, then again, I'm probably not the first one to think of that either. |
|
| O.C. - Jill Frost darth_paul 2012/10/25 6:24 1542 3
As I mentioned in the description for my version of Jack, this is his twin sister Jill, which is indeed an original creation of mine even if it's very possible that others have done this that I am not aware of. |

| O.C. - Lasergator darth_paul 2012/10/31 9:11 1547 3
This guy is not part of my recent stream of "Halloween themed" villains, but he does wear orange and black, and in recent years I've been submitting other members of my Evil Society of Villains (ESV) team in October around Halloween, so I thought why not post this guy now. So, here is my original character Nimrod Lasergator, gang lord of the Black Beamers, renegades from the Blue Beamers, my own take on a "Green Lantern" type of organization, and one of the nine gang lords of the ESV, five of which I've submitted so far including him. |
|
| O.C. - The Whale darth_paul 2012/11/5 18:47 1543 5
The Whale is one of my favorite original characters. I've always been a fan of aquatic type heroes and villains, but with this guy I decided to think about how big money gamblers are also known as "whales" and also about all the documentaries that I've watched in my lifetime about whale and dolphin behavior. Then everything I wanted to say about the character and his followers just easily fell into place. |
|
| O.C. - Lava Lord darth_paul 2012/11/5 18:49 1516 4
Lava Lord fills the big brute role in my original team of criminals, the Evil Society of Villains (ESV). However, he's more than just the dumb muscle, as he's also the cunning and dangerous leader of his own race of subjects. |
|
| O.C. - Robo Samurai darth_paul 2012/11/5 18:50 1670 6
Robo Samurai is one of many of my characters who I've had the opportunity to create a really cool back story for which basically involves a trio of robotics designers, who just happen to be all part cybernetic themselves, playing God and each creating their own races of robots on their own planets they decided to colonize with their creations. Of course since doing such things has its consequences, some of these robots stayed good, while others turned bad ... R.S. here is one of the bad ones. |

| O.C. - Dr. Insecto darth_paul 2012/11/13 11:44 1757 4
Dr. Insecto completes my team known as the Evil Society of Villains (ESV), as he is the big boss behind them all. Design wise, while he is a man mutated into an insect-like monster, since I made his former self an Japanese man, I decided to make him look somewhat like a demon of Japanese folklore even though the evil entity that changed him wasn't from his home country or even Earth. I was also inspired a bit by Galactus, in that Insecto is also a destroyer of worlds who feeds off of the destruction he causes, but Insecto is not a giant and is not a force of nature like Galactus is in that he's a bit more grounded in spite of still being an intergalactic foe that is feared by many. |

Just wanted to make an image of the entire team of gang lords of the ESV together. From left to right they are: Lasergator, The Whale, Robo Samurai, Capt. Arrowskull, Dr. Insecto, Microchip, Lava Lord, Timestream, and Elf Queen. |

| O.C. - St. Michael the Archangel darth_paul 2012/11/30 9:47 1700 4
This is my own version of the biblical hero, St. Michael the Archangel. I use each of the trio of archangels - Micheal, Gabriel, and Raphael in my comics from time to time as characters. |
|
| O.C. - St. Gabriel the Archangel darth_paul 2012/11/30 9:49 1621 0
My version of St. Gabriel the Archangel. I use the biblical trio of Michael, Gabriel and Raphael as characters sometimes in my comics universe. Gabriel is more appropriate for this time of year than the other two due to his role in the story of the birth of Jesus, but I can't really have one without the others, so I've decided to post all three of their bios together. |
|
| O.C. - St. Raphael the Archangel darth_paul 2012/11/30 9:50 1673 0
Last, but not least is my version of St. Raphael the Archangel as I utilize him in my own comics universe. All three of the Archangels - Michael, Gabriel and Raphael here sometimes play important roles in the CSCU in giving guidance to the various heroes that inhabit it, and sometimes even helping them combat evil as good angelic warriors should. |

| O.C. - Bar Mitzvah darth_paul 2012/12/6 8:31 1712 4
Since this is the season of not just the Christian holiday of Christmas, but also the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, I've created a trio of distinctly Jewish heroes to inhabit my Coolstar Comics Universe. I am not Jewish, but as a Christian, obviously have roots in that faith, yet I had to do a lot of research to make these guys work. Also, while none of them really have anything to do with Hanukkah exactly, I did decide to give them the menorah as their symbol, however they do retain the traditional Star of David on their matching signet rings. Overall, they are obviously based upon a mix between DC's Marvel Family and The Wonder Twins, also from DC Comics, and their names are from the rites of passage into adulthood from their faith. |
|
| Bat Mitzvah darth_paul 2012/12/6 8:38 1684 4
As explained in the comments for her brother, this gal is his twin sister, who like her brother can join rings with him and say aloud the word SHALOM, which transforms the two of them from average teenagers into powerful adult super-heroes. As they are inspired by the Marvel Family mostly, (with a little bit of the Wonder Twins thrown in since I needed a fail safe for the all too common "code word" of Shalom), each letter of their code word stands for a different Jewish/Old Testament hero or figure of importance. |
|
| Bark Mitzvah darth_paul 2012/12/6 8:48 1833 4
And, the third member of my Jewish super-hero trio is, Bark Mitzvah, a.k.a. "Muzzle Tov," the pet dog of the boy and girl who join rings, shout SHALOM, and become powerful adult super-heroes. Muzzle Tov/Bark Mitzvah was inspired of course by Krypto the Super-dog, and his name actually comes from a real ceremony that some Jewish people put on for their dogs when the animals reach a canine equivalent for adulthood. Even though he becomes super-intelligent, and gains a portion of his masters' powers in canine form, he cannot make the change himself and must wait for them to transform, by which he will change also. In this way he was also a bit inspired by various cartoons from my youth where some heroes had animal companions that they could bestow with power as well after they finished transforming themselves. |

| Frosty the Snowman darth_paul 2012/12/11 6:40 1756 2
Yes, he is "Frosty the Snowman," but he really is my own unique character which really has nothing to do with the classic holiday character other than being a living magical snowman and sharing the exact same name. His origin is completely different, and is my own story which I made up and tied to the foe(s) of my Christmas characters. My Frosty here is also one of the Christmas heroes, but his personality is also nothing like what the classic Frosty is like. He is a tough, no-nonsense guy who is also the leader of an entire race of beings just like him, and while he's not as surly as his evil counterpart, "Frostbite," he can still swing a mean broomstick when fighting the bad guys. |
|
| Crystal the Snow-Woman darth_paul 2012/12/11 6:47 1675 2
Crystal is my version of Frosty's wife. The inspiration for her comes from a couple of sources. One is that I remember there being one of those Christmas specials that showed Frosty having a wife and kids, and I think that the wife's name was Crystal. The second is that growing up, one of our decorations for the house for Christmas was this set of paper characters that you could stick on windows and reuse every year. It included a Santa & Mrs. Claus, and a male & female snowman which I assumed was supposed to represent Frosty and his wife. The decorations however, never gave any names to the characters being represented. Like Frosty though, I've of course created my own unique representation of how I want the character of his wife to be. She is a young, sweet, sexy and spunky heroine who leads her people along with her husband, and is always ready to help him and the other Christmas heroes clean up the bad guys with her magical mop! |
|
| Elfman Mac darth_paul 2012/12/12 6:08 1590 4
Elfman Mac is my original character idea for the top male elf in Santa Claus's crew at his workshop. When he's not doing his duties at the North Pole, he enjoys going on adventures with the other Christmas heroes of the CSCU. He too has an evil counterpart in, "Evilman Mac," with whom he is constantly at odds with. |
|
| Elfgirl Jane darth_paul 2012/12/12 6:10 1749 4
Elfgirl Jane is the top female elf at Santa's Workshop, making her the distaff counterpart to Mac. She has more than a working professional relationship to him though, as she's also his girlfriend. And, like him, she too enjoys going on adventures with the other Christmas heroes and helping out in any way that she can. Her evil clone is appropriately known as, "Evilgirl Jane," and just like all the others who have such dark twins, Evilgirl is a constant thorn in Elfgirl's side, but the good Jane is a happy-go-lucky girl who doesn't let her evil doppelganger get her and her friends down. |

| Mrs. Claus darth_paul 2012/12/18 9:27 1652 4
Here is my version of Mrs. Claus. I have no idea if the character has ever had a full name or not, but I've decided to call her Noel as it's very fitting. I also came up with my own unique origin tale for her and Santa. |
|
| Santa Claus darth_paul 2012/12/18 9:32 1670 4
HO! HO! HO! Last, but not least in completing my list of Christmas characters is the man himself, Santa Claus! My version of him has an origin that I made up on my own, but based in part on research into the actual historical figure of St. Nicholas and various other folklore that I combined. |

| Katie MF 2012/12/20 19:29 1690 2
An early Christmas present for my Down Under gf, Flamin' Vixen, here's another one of her original characters, Katie, a deadly and beautiful yet shy warrioress she created for the video game Assassin's Creed. |
