This is the finished piece -- my pencils cleaned up in Photoshop, of course, with colors by Katrina MaeHao, lettering by Zachary R. Matheny, and script by David Campiti.

| Roused from his drug induced revelry, by a needy 1920’s metropolitan constabulary, Eddie Skelson’s wonderful Aleister Crowley proceeds to skilfully diagnose, and then wilfully circumvent, a Lovecraftian nightmare gestating in the Kensington home of society ‘faux’ occultist, Roman Ravensblack. The story that unfolds, as Eddie Skelson reminds us in the author’s note, is made up and presents a version of Aleister Crowley somewhat artistically removed from the occultist, drug addict, social provocateur, and mountaineer, who gained his notoriety at the turn of the 20th century. What propels Skelson’s thoroughly entertaining narrative so effectively, apart from rune- inscribed potatoes having more punch than firearms, is his version of Crowley, especially how he chooses to heighten the characters sense of purpose. Given the impediments before Crowley, from functioning in his dressing gown and leather slippers late at night alongside cynical uniformed policemen, to outwitting an increasingly desperate Mokoi, brought forth by Ravensblack’s amateur occult dablings, and now prone to literally fashion sharp dining cutlery and dead society guests into its preferred automatic weapons of choice, we still find it perfectly credible that Crowley’s sole motivation to succeed is money and the promise by Inspector Bryson of a coveted object from Ravenblack’s own collection of occult ephemera. Self-interest and self-preservation are Cowley’s strongest and best characteristics and we like him the more for them, especially when they are embellished with hilarious profanities that somehow, given the period, work brilliantly to extend the character to the point of authenticity – perhaps anticipating further appearances? | Always wanted to get round to Modesty Blaise as I was often disappointed with the covers that graced the novels. So here's a 'Faux' cover pretending I had been given the commission. Created by author Peter O'Donnell in the 1960s, as a comic strip heroine then in a more fully developed series of novels. Though less well known than her contemporary, James Bond, she is arguably a far more complex and fascinating character. |

| The Gronok are a race of advanced dinosaurs, nicknamed Saurs (I nickname the despise incidentally) they are massive in stature towering at 10 feet in height or more. Their weight is equally impressive often tipping the scales at well over 1,000 lbs. Their technology is equal to the galactic standard and their 27 colonies are a testament to their highly advanced terraforming techniques. They are a peaceful species save for the more aggressive raptors who are short tempered and quick to take offense to even imagined slights . They are not fond of dragons or dragonfolk though there thus far is no apparent reason. Gronok females are nearly indistinguishable from the males save for their muted coloration and slightly smaller size. Gronk's are as one might suspect super strong capable of carrying loads weighing up to 3 hundred of pounds as easily as most humanoids would 30. The Gronok are one of the more newer species recently discovered in the five galaxies but they remain within the Andromeda borders. |
