| This is a newborn hero named Electron? Its my first commission ever and I made it for Moshuko a guy in deviantart. Since this is my official first, I did it for free? the second reason is that he lives in Canada and i was born there... :) The reference picture is the only one I had in bottom left of the picture, so I had to create him from zero? My only problem was that i still work from my laptop, so i didn't have my wacom tablet or a mouse... (my God, how did i left home without a mouse) :O: Moshuko wanted and iconic picture of the hero so I tried to give him one? |

| With a name like Ebony Veil one would expect a female...not so in this case. Ebony Veil is the name taken by the clone of Obsidian Mask. Fennec Ne'rdo was created by the Vizier of Obominous tyrant ruler and possibly an elder god in mortal form. Fennec truly believed he was the real Obsidian mask and his construction was even precise enough to fool Obsidian's enchanted blade "Godslayer" but not enough to fool his consort Aini. Fennec had been used to assassinate many high profile targets within the IGFW and caused a great deal of trouble for the Real Obsidian and himself. After his discovery as a clone Fennec issued a single order "Find Obsidian Mask and rescue him.". Fennec is as much like the real Obsidian Mask and possesses ALL f his knowledge up the point of his creation. One notable difference is that unlike Obsidian, Fennec does not possess Cybernetic eyes retaining his elven night vision. After the rescue of the ral Obsidian and the sunsequent defeat of Abominous, Fennec was, by his own request, turned over to IGFW authorities to answer for his crimes. Thanks to the efforts of the Scions of Justice and the true Obsidian Mask, Fennec was given the choice to serve the IGFW for 175 years, a far cry from the death sentence he most likely most likely would have received. His skills and knowledge of IGFW Black Ops are identical to those of Obsidian Mask who served with distinction so the Federation was confident that he would continue to uphold those standards. It is well known that Fennec is a clone though that is not what ANYONE calls him. Records to this date identify him as Obsidian Mask's twin brother and no one disputes it. His current assignment is the leader of a small Special Ops group called "Black I.C.E." who handle high priority missions deemed too sensitive to outsource. The squad member's names are unknown to each other save for Fennec who is well known to each of them and who knows each of their identities. Fennecs awards have cut his 175 years sentence down to a mere 75 years for outstanding performance and ability to accomplish the impossible. It would be safe to say his skills may outshine those of Obsidian Mask given that he is constantly in action with little down time. Fennec uses advanced IGFW technology and is what is known as a "Free Reign" agent allowed to work independently of handlers. His code name Ebony veil is a play on Obsidian Mask... He chose it himself to honor his brother to whom is very grateful for helping him remain among the living, as IGFW laws do not permit cloning or clones and the latter are to be destroyed upon confirmation of their genome. This law is the primary reason that Fennec's records were altered, and as far as his crimes are concerned, he committed them "Under Duress" i.e. Brainwashing. |

The alarms go off and Bill, Tony and I rush to the bridge, as the lift doors open I see a vortex across the bridge and a single figure stands before us we split and make activate our silent mode on our helmets.
"Tony, aim low, Bill aim high...I got the middle."
Right!" They shout in unison as we rush this unknown threat. We have our armor and our our blades, this guy has no idea what he's gotten himself into. or maybe we don't don't know what we've gotten ourselves into. In a flash Tony's head flies from his shoulders and his lifeless body flops to the ground. Bill is run completely through and and I hear the gurgling sound of blood in my headset. From out of nowhere I'm hurled across the room and I don't know how but I feel all of it. My scanners pick up a faint trace of some unidentified vapor in the room. I start to give this guy a final piece of my mind but I realize to my horror that I can't move. MY spine snapped from the impact and I am at his complete mercy...I wish now I had chosen to flash my weapons because I could sure use the power of my blade right now. As the faceless figure stands over me poised for the kill my only thought is for my beloved Sarah and how much I'm going to miss her and the kids.
I wake in a cold sweat from what has to be the most surreal, vivid, nightmare I ever remember having. A wave of panic washes over me and I am left in a cold sweat panting heavily in the darkness of my room. Ai Lies silently beside me and I can hear the familiar sound of Aini cooking in the kitchen. I don't take nightmares lightly unless they're about the war, and this one was strange to say the least. I was wearing our Gen 1 armor aboard the Runt, which was destroyed almost a decade ago, and everyone aboard was slaughtered. Ray has been dead for some time now and I was calling him Tony, and Harley was Bill for some reason. After my experiences with Dominion and more recently with the Black mantis I have no intention of ignoring this "Dream". Let's just say if you have a terrifying nightmare and you can clearly remember all of it...there's probably more to it. I summon my sword to my hand and scan for magic but there's nothing out of place.Hopping out of bed I flash the rest of my gear on and scan a bit deeper but still nothing out of the ordinary. Then I get a call from the bridge.
"Shadawar to Obsidian, sir you're needed on the bridge."
"It's not a good time. Is it important?"
"You need to see for yourself captain."
"On my way."
I forgo breakfast and head straight to the bridge As the doors open I try to read the room, but everyone looks at me like they have bad news. The kind of news where someone is dead. My heart jumps as I remember the nighmare still fresh in my mind and for a second I think someone is going to tell me Harley's been killed. Instead I get much worse news.
"Obsidian, we picked up a derelict ship on our scanners."
"Okay so why tell me?"
"It's the ship's transponder signature."
"Somehting wrong with it, is it Sathari or Heigaran? What?"
"No, it registers as the SS Runt."
"Saywhatnow? Put it on screen."
Sure enough I'm staring at my old ship now floating seemingly lifeless through space. MY nightmare is looking worse by the second.
"Is there life support? Did you try signalling the ship?"
"Minimal life support, the ship is in standby mode and there's no life signs. It's not answering our signal."
"That's NOT the Runt...I saw it destroyed with my own two eyes. Lock a tractor beam and bring it close I'll check it out for myself."
"Aye sir."
I transport over and as I walk systems begin activating. I am standing on the bridge and the sight before me is horrific to say the least. My nightmare was no dream. Whatever happened here I saw it, but not as it happened. The corpse's are old and withered, only skeletal remains inside the husks of armor. I collapse into the captain's chair at the sight of my own lifeless body slumped against the veiwscreen wall and instantly the ship springs back to life.
"Error, dual presence detected...scanning...secondary presence identified...Secondary presence from Temporal Coordinates 75634 Identity...Obsidian Mask...Establishing command protocols...Welcome aboard Captain."
This ship like my old one is capable of determining temporal variances and signatures...Helpful, and by the sounds of it, I believe it just turned command over to me.
"Computer, what in the blue hell happened here?"
As the logs play on the main monitor I'm absolutely mortified. The whole scene is identical to my dream. The part that worries me is that my systems have identified the armor these men are wearing as Absorbium 30. Not 80 like I wore at the time I used the suits like these. More disturbing is how the attacker simply bypassed the armor's defenses and completely snapped this guy's spine. His sword lays strewn across the floor. Why didn't they take it? For that matter why didn't they take anything? I pick up the blade and sure enough it 's mine, and it responds like it belongs to me. Had the faceless alien picked it up, he would've been killed instantly but this blade is missing some seriously important modifications. It's not flashed, and it has no symbiosis, I doubt it can dance either. I order a skeleton crew aboard and have them do a body count. Back aboard the Nomad, I attempt to use my blade to resurrect my fallen doppelgangers. Only it doesn't work. There's only a couple of reasons it wouldn't and after I cast a "speak with the dead" spell I' absolutely certain of which reason it is. Their very life essence has been stripped away and destroyed. This doesn't bode well. My next move is to secure the other ship and bring us in to port. I'm going to call in some pals, namely Panterra and Harley. Whoever these aliens are they may return again and since they have a means of getting past Absorbium, or at least nullifying it, I want to be well prepared. I'll be damned if they'll catch me with my pants down.

| I originally wanted Gloin, who will most likely be renamed, to be an Herbalist providing the company of seven with healing remedies and the like. The dwarves themselves will have nods to both The Hobbit and Snow White, in as much as the dwarves will possess the personality traits reminiscent of Disney's dwarves, but far less cartoonish. Yet Physically they'll be more like Tolkein's dwarves including a couple that are visually very similar. Like Tolkein, I will be drawing inspiration from the Norse "Poetic Edda". Unlike both, however, I have included a single female dwarf who, keeping with my universe is sporting some subtle facial hair because duh dwarf. |

In the folkloric traditions of the Orkney and Shetland islands, a trow (alternatively trowe or drow) is a small, troll-like fairy creature. Trows, in general, are inclined to be short of stature, ugly and both shy and mischievous in nature. Like the troll of Scandinavian legend, with which the trow shares many similarities, trows are nocturnal creatures; venturing out of their 'trowie knowes' (earthen mound dwellings) solely in the evening, they often proceeded to enter households as the inhabitants slept. Trows traditionally have a fondness for music, and folktales tell of their habit of kidnapping musicians or luring them to their dens.
According to Sir Walter Scott: 'Possession of supernatural wisdom is still imputed by the natives of Orkney and Zetland Islands, to the people called Drows, who may, in most other respects, be identified with the Caledonian fairies.'
Dey (1991) speculates that the tradition, and perhaps that of the selkie, may be based in part on the Norse invasions of the Northern Isles. She states that the conquest by the Vikings sent the indigenous, dark-haired Picts into hiding and that "many stories exist in Shetland of these strange people, smaller and darker than the tall, blond Vikings who, having been driven off their land into sea caves, emerged at night to steal from the new land owners." However most Roman sources describe the Picts as tall, long limbed and red or fair
haired.

| The mystic realm of the dragons was no more. Nathaniel found himself back home, uncelebrated and unoticed. He was transported through the dimensions as a hope for their world. He was given and taught the basic arts by the oldest and wisest of the dragons: Alwazlite. His newly discovered lost twin brother, Daniel; had succumbed to lust and greed for the powers of the ancient dragons, and risen to power of that world. Daniel had been kidnapped as an infant and hidden into the dragon dimension many years ago, by a lowly marketeer; cashing in on the fabled prophecy: A human mystic would be granted the power of the dragons. Their parents died within a year soon after. Some had spoken by reasons of heartbreak and despair. Nathaniel grew up not knowing his twin or family. In the end; his brother was defeated and was lost by his own hands in a great epic fight between magics. He was given the final powers of the dragons before they too were lost. Never to return. The mystic magics of the dragons were now his to command. He prefers solitude and roams the city without purpose attempting to find his place. He is alone. He is balance. He is the DragonMage. |

| The Mining colony of Tenaera 7 was the first to record the presence of a type of dragon that dwells within molten lava. It was thought that only great red dragons could withstand such temperatures of a volcano, but even they do not dwell within the lava itself. Lava Dragons however, can and do make their nests within the molten stone and are unharmed by the intense heat which is enough to destroy anything that isn't an earth elemental. For this reason it is believed that the Lava Dragon mat be an elemental of some sort. They are massive creatures and even a hatchling is no mere thing at roughly 14 ft in length, but the adults have been recorded at up to 185 feet in length. Sadly the mining colony did not survive their encounter as the dragons are highly aggressive towards lesser creatures. The planet has thus been quarantined, and other molten worlds are being scrutinized for the presence of Lava Dragons. Should they prove to be as prolific as their other cousins mining companies may have to find new worlds to excavate. |

| This beast is as it's name would imply, a combination of Dragon and Turtle. Though not as massive as a Zaratan, Reef Dragon it still impressive at nearly 50 feet in length. Dragon Turtles have no natural enemies except other dragons, and feed primarily on other sea creatures having no preference of one species over another. Like many dragons they have fiery breath which is hot enough to melt granite and while they cannot fly they can indeed swim at speeds of up to 200 mph. It has been observed they they can lay dormant at the ocean floor at any depth meaning they are they are not only quite strong but also quite durable, capable of withstanding pressures that would crush lesser creatures. Even small Dragon Turtles are practically invulnerable to most conventional weapons while larger Dragon Turtles can only be harmed by enchanted or Heavy weapons capable of damaging starships. The beak and teeth of a Dragon Turtle as one might suspect, is capable of tearing through conventional materials easily, though thankfully they rarely attack seagoing vessels. It is not possible to tame or ride these creatures and unlike their flying cousins they are not highly intelligent though they do possess a high degree of animal intelligence. If provoked the Dragon Turtle will hunt it's enemy down relentlessly and they have long memories. Dragon Turtles reproduce by laying from 1-3 eggs and viciously guard them against predators attacking anyone or anything that comes within roughly 100 yards. Upon hatching the first hatchling will immediately attack the remaining eggs feasting upon it's siblings, this behavior is baffling to scientists but it does keep their numbers down. The life span of a Dragon Turtle is unknown but if the land based dragons are anything to go by it could possibly be thousands of years. |

Need to exorcise a demon or monster from another dimension? Well, there's God only knows how many experts you could go to - Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, Dr. Occult, etc. But if you need to eliminate a large army of demons in a short amount of time, you might need a specialist. And that's where Dr. Reinigend comes in. A former Nazi scientist who spent the bulk of WWII figuring out genocidal applications for magic, the doctor is the ultimate authority on exterminating hordes of demons, and now works for a black ops unit code-named Merkwurdigscheiss, which deals with . He approaches exorcism the way that the Nazis approached the extermination of their victims: efficiency over ethics. He sees nothing wrong with using spells that wipe out whole neighborhoods if it eliminates a few elusive demons. Thank god he's on our side... right?
(Just a weird idea that came into my head. A completely evil bastard who might be needed in an emergency...) |
