| Nelvana of the Northern Lights CDA 2007/6/17 7:55 6770 9
The superheroine Nelvana of the Northern Lights became Canada?s first national superhero, predating Wonder Woman by several months.
She drew her powers from the Northern Lights. She could fly, travel at the speed of light along a giant ray of the aurora borealis, and call upon other powers of the Northern Lights making her capable of melting metal and disrupting radio communications. Nelvana also had the ability to turn invisible as well as alter her physical form.
In 1995 Canada Post issued a popular set of commemorative superhero stamps featuring the reproduction of the first issue of Nelvana.
This is my interpretation of the character.

| O Gralha Android 2004/7/15 21:16 3569 6
1. Source: Unknown model from Google (type 1065550699 and search for images). The background were taken from here: http://celepar7.pr.gov.br/portalcomunidade/paginas_comunidade/pg_gralhaazul.asp
2. Commenting image: this is going to be enormous. Gralha is the name of a bird that inhabits Brazil. Unfortunately I do not have the minimum idea if it is known by some other name in English. The shape of the animal can be seen here: http://www.pr.gov.br/seec/gralha/gralha2.html
O Gralha (The Gralha) is indeed a brazilian comic super hero. Some of his authors adore super-heroes; others hate them openly. Still thus, the Gralha is one only. For more details about this character, visit (written in portuguese): http://www.omelete.com.br/quadrinhos/artigos/base_para_artigos.asp?artigo=315
3. Making of: The same old speech. The Gralha's drawing was made by me. The "real" Gralha demonstrates as how it can be ridicule (for the brazilian reality) the concept of a super-hero. With the background and the two Gralhas, I noticed that the composition was very confused... so I decided to add these black bars to simulate a page of comic book and the problem was fixed. |

| O-Girl Masterchief 2011/8/7 10:04 6508 6
I know there has to be someone other than JR who will know who this is. For those of you who don't know who she is, O-Girl is a live action comic heroine played by Fetish model Christina Carter. You got to love the trouble she gets herself into each episode. This morph was created for me by a friend over at DAZ and I wanted to show her off. I have taken some liberties with both her costume and her powers, but being a fanboy lets me have that right. |

| October Challenge: Happy Halloween, Spider-Man... Kallisti 2004/10/31 22:38 3564 13
Spider-Man was hot on the trail of Jack-O-Lanter, knowing he was up to no good. The web-slinger trailed him to an unfamiliar city, and was about to make his move, when out of nowhere Jack's old rival the Hobgoblin joined the party. The air ripples underneath Jack's flying disc as he lobs bomb after bomb at the Hobgoblin. Things look pretty scary for our hero, but the tables are about to turn, as Spidey recieves help from a couple of unlikely sources... |

Lady from a lingerie site; head from a blond; bad guy from a wine steward pic; wine from Bordeau (with ruffies added...). Hope you like it???? |

| Project Superpowers: The Crusaders daswook 2011/6/13 9:51 2285 0
His secret identity is Professor Archibald (Archie) Masters, an astronomy professor at an unnamed university in the Eastern United States. The character debuted in 1941, his mousy alter-ego being similar to that of Superman's Clark Kent identity. He accidentally got caught in a room with a device called an atom smasher, and, inevitably, the experiment went awry. Instead of killing him, the accident blasted him with radiation, which endowed him with various superhuman abilities. He used these powers to fight crime as the American Crusader. Prof. Masters had a secretary named Jane Peters. The Crusader had a teen sidekick named Mickey Martin. In the mini-series Project Superpowers he's kept imprisoned and unconscious by a totalitarian government, and clones called Crusaders are created from his DNA to function as super-powered soldiers. The Black Terror finds Archie and helps him to lure the Crusaders and destroy them, using the last of Archie's energy in the process; the Crusaders all die, and an African-American soldier named Marcus Chamberlain, who was with Archie and the Terror at the last moment, gains the power and becomes the new American Crusader. The American Crusader first appeared in Thrilling comics #19 (1941) |

| Project Superpowers; The Flame and Flame Girl daswook 2011/6/10 14:27 2200 0
The Flame's secret identity is Gary Preston. When Gary was a baby, his father Charteris Preston worked as a missionary in China. The elder Preston was washed away in a flood, but managed to save baby Gary by placing him in a basket. The basket was washed downstream to Tibet, where Gary was rescued by a group of lamas. They raised Gary in the lamasary, where they trained him in their mystical ways. Through this training, Gary gained the ability to control fire and temperature, including his own body temperature. He also gained the ability to travel from place to place by materializing inside of flame (even a match flame). When he reached adulthood, Gary returned to America to fight crime as the Flame. The Flame was later joined by a female sidekick, Flame Girl. Flame Girl was secretly Linda Dale, who was given similar powers as the Flame when Gary Preston was injured. The Flame first appeared in Wonderworld comics #3 (July 1939). Flame Girl first appeared in Wonderworld comics #30 (October 1941). |
