| Velta OCP 2008/9/7 3:04 3793 9
Today is the Brazil Independence Day and as a Thank You to my brazilian friends here, without them I couldn't achieve half of what I do today with all their help and advices, I decided to make an image related to the theme using a brazilian superhero.
A little bit about Velta: She's a 6.6 feet tall blonde private detective with the ability to generate electric or explosive beams through any part of her body. Created in 1973 by Emir Ribeiro. I changed her...Ahem...uniform to better fit the theme of the image. Base image from the jar.
Desejos de um bom Feriado, amigos. |

| Welcome to Drakulon. daswook 2010/1/11 20:25 3323 0
One of the original anti-heroines of comics. Vampirella is not a true vampire, she is actually an alien from the planet Drakulon where it's inhabitants possess vampire-like abilities.

| Winged Victory - Or why I will never validate your current inability to photoshop stuff. QuantumFX 2006/3/21 19:46 4186 7
OK, just another reminder at how much I used to suck at doing this. A scant 5 years ago I created this piece. I like posting these things for you new guys to encourage you to push yourselves further. Honestly, I don't think I know much more about Photoshop now as I did then. The difference is that I stopped thinking of photoshop as a tool for putting together images and treated it like a canvas and applying all the drawing and painting experience I had to it. |

| Witchblade R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e 2006/6/23 10:48 5419 11
Didn't see much Witchblade floating around here so I decided to put this together. The armor wasn't as hard to make as I expected so this one went pretty smoothly.
I know the background looks a bit blad since she's a cop I just put her out on the beat.
Enjoy!

| World Tour in Comics: Croatia OCP 2007/9/13 15:42 3340 9
Mister Mačak is a black-and-white Croatian comic drawn by Robert Solanović and written by Darko Macan and Tihomir Tikulin - Tico. Mister Mačak means Mister Cat in Croatian, but it's translated as Mister Meow. Two albums are published.
Mister Mačak: Parody of Batman. His real name is Miroslav. Everything he possesses has mister or mačak in its name (Telemačak, mačkofon, Mistermobil...). He has a small black aircraft (Mistermobil) and lots of friends who usually need his help.
I really don't like this background for this "hero", but I'm trying to use one image from each country. |

| World Tour in Comics: Cuba OCP 2007/10/14 3:46 3191 6
Yakro, the lizard man . Coming from a civilization of great technological and social advance, in a distant nebula, whose damaged ship falls in the planet Earth, in pre-historical times and must deal with the earthlings who just start their presence in this planet. Yakro was a creation of Orestes Su?rez Lemus and began his life by 1990, in the comic magazine Pablo, and was one of the few Cuban comic charaters for adults that I could find. Heck, even find this one was a surprise to me? And if you?re wondering, the background is from a farm in Cuba. |

| World Tour in Comics: Denmark OCP 2008/6/22 0:24 3077 6
Student Arno Olsen, fed up with the world's corrupt and political ways, decides to become a superhero to save mankind. He has an "accident" involving a potion in his school laboratory, granting him super powers. He is then given a superhero license by the superhero license office in Copenhagen, and begins to fight crime as Dukse Drengen His main enemy is the money worshipping Count Scroogeness. I tried to find out who created this charater but the only thing I could find was that his debut was on a parody TV show before gaining his own comic from the danish Cool Comics. She protects the City of All Faiths from the warring Zios Army and the United Liberation Force (Thanx Wikipedia) , created by Dr. Ayman Kandeel and art by R.V. Valdez. Publish by AK comics, these characters are created by Egyptian writers but most of the art is from the Brazilian 'PopArt Comics Studio'. This image was my real first try at Photoshop, starded in PSP9 and finish with Photoshop. Any tips how to improve are welcome . |

First I want to thank Cyanure for is sugestion. And now here it is: Mikros, created by Malcolm Naughton (pseudonym of Marcel Navarro) and John Milton (pseudonym of Jean-Yves Mitton). From what I could find about it, he was a normal guy given insectoid powers by an alien race. |

| World Tour in Comics: Germany OCP 2007/8/9 15:59 3376 6
From Germany introducing Wanda Caramba. Created by Eckart Breitschuh, the only thing I can say about this charather is that she seems to be a bad girl with a lust for danger and sex. Couldn't find out any bio in english and german is not one of the languages I speak well, so if anyone know anything about her, I appreciate the info. |

| World Tour in Comics: Greece OCP 2010/3/9 18:09 2562 3
From Greece, I bring you Mythos the Arcadian (Μύθος ο Αρκάδιος), a hero probably inspired by Conan the Barbarian and sharing some traits with him, namely the fighting, climbing and leadership abilities. But Mythos permanently wears some mysterious metal bracers of which the left one can radiate a transparent magical shield on the wearer's command and unlike Conan, it's implied in his adventures that he has either divine origins or is a servant to greater, divine or mythological powers.
Created and drawn by Kostas Frangiadakis. |
