| My latest addition to both the Unicorn Universe and the growing list of Babes. Barbara Quincy was born a mutant with the ability to generate heated plasma usually in the form of flames. There's nothing really special about her powers..we've seen them in dozens of heroes. But I really liked her design typically because of the lack of the standard hero costume and the fact that she's so doggone cute. lol. Barbi Q has yet to make an appearance in any Unicorn story but I doubt it'll be too long before she does. |

| One for the Bad Girls! Don't be fooled by Luela's pets, she's twice as ferocious as both of them put together. I guess wearing an enchanted amulet that allows you to assume the form of any animal will do that. Luela's a member of a group of time-displaced space pirates called The Outcasts and although she plays a supporting role in the group she is by far the most cunning. Not only does Luela entice men with her feminine whiles before literally ripping thier hearts out, but she also played a major role in history by assuming the form of the Egyptian Asp that gave Cleopatra her fatal bite. | I know Ive already posted an image of my first beauty but you also know I was never truly pleased with my effort and felt I really didnt do her the justice she deserves. Well problem solved. Since youve already seen her work clothes I decided to dress her for the occassion [invading an enemy island with her STARS teammates that is]. Now this is what I truly call a day at the beach. | Sheba Summers will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only was she originally patterned after the actress, Pam Grier [whom i had many a sexual fantasy about] but she was the very first female hero I created. Sheba lives a dual life as both a hard nosed private investigator [coincidentally she uses the last name Shane] but her most important role being that of America's premiere secret agent as well as the love interest of Sam Savage. Sheba's a flamboyant person who has an eye for both fashion and covert operations. Sometimes she makes me wanna be the bad guy just so she can chase me around. | Another one of the original ladies of Unicorn Comics. Gwen Chin Lao has been kicking major butt in the UC universe for a long time and looks just as lovely now as she did wayyyy back then. Tiger Lily not only is a master of several forms of martial arts but she also happens to come from a secret village called Kem Ta tha dwells in another dimension [sounds kinda familiar dont it?]. While other female martial artists are depicted as soft natured individuals who abhore violence..TL's the exact opposite. She loves a good scrap now and then. | My favorite Unicorn character creation. Tantrum is actually a tribute to my eldest daughter Tiffani Bell [even carrying her actual name]. Possessing super strength, invulnerability and a never surrender attitude, Tantrum is perhaps the strongest female in UC Comics. Much like the Hulk her strengths grow as her anger does..and she gets angry quite often. My partner Henry Samson is responsible for the battlesuit costume design and I am glad to have recreated it in this media. Tantrum is the first in a series of images I'm posting as a tribute to some of my first and favorite female characters of the Unicorn Universe. | Justice League Unlimited was perhaps the best American made action animation series to come along since the old Hanna Barbera shorts. A shame that it ended. One of the better stories was the first appearance of Powergirl [known as Galatea] and her battle against Supergirl. Here's my vision of that classic struggle. ENJOY! | I recently found out that one of my new neighbors is a "closet" sci-fi freak who likes to write his own stories. He's pretty protective about his stuff but for some reason decided to let me browse through some of his works. One particular storyline caught my attention titled "Desolation Quest" about a young StellarKnight named Vara Kandor who is on a mission to stop a mysterious force that is destroying planets. My wife and I got into a discussion about my 3D art last night. She said that all i seem to be able to do is make superheroes and fantasy stuff. Why don't I do something normal? Needless to say when she saw this she wasn't too happy but it sure shut her up! 
Other than the fact that this was a step away from my normal work it was a first for me in a couple of aspects. The first time I used 5 different male figures in the same picture [M4, M3, D3, Hiro and Don] Can you tell which is which?

| It's been too long for me to have been into 3D and done loads of comic characters and had failed to do my favorite female of them all. The ever alluring Black Canary. Ya just gotta love her guys...she's a total badass and the hottest looking hero since Red Sonja. I thought about having her beating up some thugs but..well..I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this version instead. |

| I know I promised to use P4 figures for my next few posts but I was commisioned to do an image of Elektra and Daredevil fighting after someone at Renderosity saw my last image of ol' HornHead. Anyway the job didn't pay much but I really liked how it came out. Not too bad for one day's work. He wanted a more comicbook look to than 3D so I did quite a bit of postwork on this one. |

With the creation of M3, V3, V4 Aiko and other top notch uni-mesh 3D figures most everyone I know has forgotten about the early stages of Poser when the Dork and Posette figures ruled. Sure by today's standards they can look pretty lame but there were some guys [Sharby, Marvel 1, Hasdrubal etc.] who did wonders with these figures just for us comicbook freaks. I figured that for my next few posts I'd use those standalone Poser 3/4 figures and see what I can do with them and set an interesting scene at the same time.
Here Squadron Supreme members Hyperion and Dr. Spectrum investigate a power outage from one of their monitoring beacons on a distant asteroid. When they arrive the find an irrate Drax the Destroyer who has set up shop there. They only want to repair the beacon ..but you know how Drax hates uninvited company.
Drax, Hyperion & Dr. Spectrum all by Hasdrubal.

| I haven't been inspired to do any posts lately so i figured i'd do something for the holiday. besides it was a good opportunity to use the very seldom used P4 Posette figure and some new props i picked up. This was more or less an experiment using the Fog Deluxe III item to simulate flame. I suppose i could have devoted more time to pose the flames better but like i said..the inspiration level is wayyy down. btw, no postwork done. |

| Its kinda bad that it took me to pay homage to the one comic character that started it all for me. Daredevil was the first superhero comic I ever read and eventhough I never liked the character much...it was by reading his mag that I was intriduced to the wide world of comicbook heroes. Before that I had only thought heroes were found on Saturday morning shows [even Supes and Bats]. Thanks to DD I not only joined the fraternity of comicbook geeks but I became obsessed with creating them too. Thanks for listening. |
