Harley receives a transmission from my old friend Panterra, who claims he's killed me, so immediately I head to his location to sort the whole thing out. Obviously he's come across one my clones, and has mistaken it for being the real me. Not that hard to do when you consider they have all of my memories, but this one must have lost it's ever loving mind. Panterra is a powerhouse and his power armor gives him the strength to lift 80 tons, he's easily as skilled as I am and his Adamantine/Mythril armor is nearly as indestructible as my own. he carries a vast array of weapons as well. I wouldn't want to take him on unless I had no other choice.
Apparently Panterra was tracking down some downloaded data and ran across this loser and in the heat of battle inadvertently snapped the poor guy's neck.
When I transport in I can tell my old friend doesn't quite recognize me. In fact he looks kinda stunned.
He immediately goes into a fighting stance and squares off against me.
"Whoa whoa whoa, relax dude, I'm not here for a fight."
"He said the same thing. Then I guess he changed his mind."
I look down at the clone's corpse and I shudder. Panterra is no joke when it comes to hand to hand at that clone should have known better...Why would he do something that foolish?
"Look old cat, I can explain the whole thing if you just hear me out."
After a few minutes he's up to speed and a few scans from is equipment confirm what I'm saying.
"Obsidian, that is really messed up so this Nechronos guy is trying to what exactly?"
"We're not sure, apparently he wants something from the Black Mantis but nobody knows what that is exactly."
"Well I've never run into the Black Mantis so I'm really no help. In fact I came here looking for some missing Namaean scientists who were involved with some new kind of transport technology."
"I hate to say it bro, but I think those people are as good as dead, Nechronos doesn't really take prisoners"
I gesture to the dead clone.
"So I gather. By the way, If that was a clone of you, I'd work on my fighting style if I were you. He was very sloppy."
"Yeah well I'm a god now so... Besides those clones are a bit cocky and I'm usually full of trepidation and anxiety."
"Perhaps that's a flaw in their creation process?"
"Maybe but I am tired of running into them."
"Well if I hear anything or run across anymore of them I'll keep you posted."
"Sure thing pal."
"Good Hunting Obsidian."
With that he returns to his investigation and I return to my ship with the clone. No answers today just more questions...this is getting old fast. |

The desert planet T'Yar 6 home of the T'Yar species is incredibly arid, nearly all of the water flows deep beneath the planet's surface, advanced techniques in drilling and mining have allowed the people of T'Yar not only tap those resources but to establish thriving cities on what would otherwise be barren wastelands. T'Yar was a trading post in the outer rims territories however, after the War it began serving as a haven to smugglers, pirates, bounty hunters and mercenaries. T'Yar authorities are hard pressed to remove these elements and their contributions to the local economies are vital so much of the illegal contraband and activities are overlooked...for a price.

| The Ghost Planet

Our arrival at the system that is home to the Ghost Planet is quick but none of the stories I have read or been told have prepared me in any way for what I see on my main view screen. Derelict ships of every size and shape imaginable drift lifelessly throughout the sector, their crews long gone or dead. Many of the ships predate known space travel and still other are designs unknown in this galaxy. A feeling of foreboding permeates the Sable as we navigate the floating wreckage of this starship graveyard. As we clear a massive destroyer the likes of which would make the Sathari envious I see the the vortex. A beam of energy connects it to the planet below and something immediately grabs my attention: Fully half of the planet has been torn away from the core creating and asteroid field as treacherous as any I have ever navigated. Every story and very once of research I have been privy to describes the planet as whole but with a thin atmosphere yet the planet before me has clearly been torn asunder and what atmosphere remains reads as thick and breathable. I call the senior officers to my briefing room along with Dr. Omega and his assistant to discuss this turn of events before we proceed.
Assembled around the conference table is The Doctor, Fred, The sage Caewon, Shadawar my first officer, and Sabrina my newly acquired chief engineer. The vertical windows in the back of the room clearly show the destruction and devastation we are about to address,
"Ladies and Gentlemen as you can see we have something of a problem, we are at the correct coordinates but a planet that should be in one piece clearly is not and we need to know why before we get and closer to that vortex which is dangerous enough on it's own. Doctor have you seen anything like in your travels?"
The doctor looks ponderous as if scanning through his vast memories to find some comparison with his brow furrowed he looks at me and says
"I have seen destruction of this magnitude before but there are typically traces of high levels of radiation and ionization from the discharge of a massive weapon of some sort which would be readily apparent to your scanners.'
"True," Shadawar adds "However, none of our scanners cked up radiation levels high enough to indicate the use of such a weapon."
Caewon stares out the window, his voice barely above a whisper, he says: "If one was simply going to demolish a planet then why bother replenishing the atmosphere? It doesn't make sense."
"I agree with Caewon's assessment, it wouldn't make sense unless..." Dr Omega's words trail off.
"Unless what?" I almost say "Idiot" since he stopped so abruptly but I resist the urge, if he knows something I want to hear it and the sooner the better.
"Unless that's not the ghost planet."
Everyone in the room looks stunned at that revelation, but if that's the case I'll know in a hot second.
"Chief Walters, I want you to luanch some probes to the other side of that planet and then scan the debris field and taking into account the various ships that are here. combine the data from the probes and our scans and see if there's enough debris in this asteroid field to account for one and a half planets."
"I'm on it captain."
"As for the rest of you, see what other theories you can come up with. I don't care how far out they might seem. If they're even slightly plausible I want to hear em."
Everyone agrees in turn and I head back to the bridge with Shadawar to help prep the launch bays for the probes. As soon as they're ready we launch. as the probes pass the vortex two of the seven fired are snagged by energy tendrils from the vortex as they and are instantly vaporized. The remaining five make it into position and we begin receiving data.
As the data is finished being analyzed I get an urgent call from engineering.
"Engineering to the bridge, captain Dr Omega and I know what's going on...beyond any shadow of a doubt. Gather everyone in the briefing room."
Within moment we are all reassembled and anxious to know what exactly is happening.
"Okay Chief tell us what you got."
"We scanned the debris field as you ordered and sent out the probes. What we found was that your suspicions are spot on. This planet isn't the ghost planet, and it doesn't match anything on file."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning it came here from somewhere else."
"How could that be?" Caewon asks.
"I'm glad you asked, The planet we're looking at can only have come from one place and the probe data confirmed it."
"And where is that chief, please keep in mind my patience is thin"
"Quite simply..." Dr. Omega says, it came from the vortex.
This revelation is a surprise indeed...and for me only brings up more questions.
Shadawar asks "How can an entire planet come out of that vortex, the apagey ism't nearly large enough to accommodate a battleship let alone an entire planet?"
"No true." the Doctor continues, "What you see with your eyes and what initially appear on scanners is something of an illusion, when subjected to tachyon burst the true scale of the vortex is nearly 12,000 miles wide more than enough to accommodate that planet. What remains of the ghost planet is largely debris and the side of the planet that we can see is relatively whole but where the two planets impacted is pure devastation. Still enough gravity remains to hold on to what precious little atmosphere remains."
"Okay then, doctor..." I ask breaking the silence of the stunned room. Where the hell is that beam of energy supplying the vortex coming from if not from the ghost world?"
Caewon interjects at this point and clears the whole mess up. "It's easy to figure out captain, the source of power is magical in nature." Gesturing to Shadawar he asks "Can't you feel it? That feeling of nausea and uneasiness like you're in the presence of something truly powerful?"
It sounds far fetched, a vortex sustained by magic, I have seen permanent spells that create light or other spells in place such as with swords and items of power even relics but nothing of this...sheer magnitude. Someone would have to tap into the very fabric of the energy that makes magic possible in order to do something like this. What were those fools thinking.
"So the vortex is self sustaining then? Regardless of any intervening forces even cataclysms like two planets smashing into one another?"
"It's hard to say for certain but I'd wager it's more likely than not given the evidence at hand."
Dear gods, what have I gotten us into.
"Okay everyone make whatever preparations you need to because we're gonna head straight for the center of that vortex and gods willing we'll make it there and back in one piece."
I only hope I'm making the right call here because the alternative is grim..very grim. |

On his many travels across the Multiverse obsidian has come across some of the most notable people in all of sci-fi so it is no surprise to find that he counts Major Matoko Kusanagi among his many allies. Although since she is a police officer Obsidian defers to her authority while visiting her world. In truth Obsidian is not overly fond of cyborgs feeling too much is lost for what little is gained. Especially when power armor can give you the same advantages without having to sacrifice body parts...Besides which the full prosthetic cyborgs on this world could never harness magic. And technology is incredibly susceptible to Technomancy spells having no defense against such magics at all..

Hadeans are warriors and conquerors to the bone they live and breathe war and are born into a life of combat, they can be found among the ranks of most successful military forces and are very good at what they do, only what they do isn't very nice.
The Hadean race took the brunt of the fallout from the Millennium wars. As a major ally of the Sathari Empire they were stunned to find their ally hang them out to dry. The Sathari claimed that the entire war was instigated by the Hadeans and that they were forced to participate. As a result the Hadeans were forced to pay restitution and reparations to the injured parties, they have no military of their own and won't until the last recorded survivor of the war dies and many of them are immortal. Until that day the Hadean military is under the joint control of The IFGW, The Andromedian concordat, and the Triangulum Union. The Hadeans pictured here are mercenaries (as many Hadeans are) the one on the left is half cyborg spider which is a common design in the Hadean military, the one on the right is sporting Hadean power armor. |

| At first glance this would appear to be a poor man's Black Panther, but no. The Blue Tiger is a Hiegaran With very special abilities. Like All Heigaran's he retains all of the natural predatory abilities (Night Vision, Enhanced Senses etc) of a large predatory cat. However he is no tribal leader although he is a respected inventor and philanthropist.He also has the ability to speak with and control cats of all kinds. Under his mask is the face muzzle and teeth of a blue tiger (A very rare breed)he is a true hero and despite his ability to do so, he never kills. |

Of course it isn't Bats, Let me see if I can figure out exactly how you do things in Gotham.
First you stop a guy who kills people, then you put him in a nuthouse where he's sure to be released in months rather then fried in the chair, but instead they escape time and again, and each time you go get em. It's like shampoo, lather rinse repeat. Tell me though, each time someone like the Joker gets out, how many folks does he kill? I bet you know exactly how many people he's killed. And every time he gets out he does it again. As many times as you had the chance to stop him once and for all, the blood of those innocent and not so innocent people are on your hands as much as his. Bane is no less dangerous, some of these guys are irredeemable like rabid dogs, and there's only one thing you do with a rabid dog, but I bet you're standing there thinking that you're better then me because you don't kill. Afraid that it gets easier every time...well it doesn't Bats, in fact it gets harder every time. You pray that the next guy you have to put a bulletin does something...anything...to give you a reason not to, but they never do. You though, you keep this never ending cycle going all so you can be the Bat. The end result is that the bystanders pay for your ego and arrogance, and on behalf of all those who could have lived if you were willing to cross the line when absolutely necessary...Fuck you Bats.
With that I leave and I will never come to this universe again. |

Obsidian travels to the marvel universe to warn the heroes there of impending danger. In that universe his childhood heroes are very real as is the threat he has come to warn them about. Encountering Spider-Man first he explains that Dominion has arrived to secure the assistance of the mightiest Villains in Marvel history starting with Dr. Doom. Spider-man is quick to set up a meeting with the avengers and despite being positively star struck Obsidian knows they must stop this threat to their universe and his own.
Seriously folks what would you do if you were face to face with your childhood heroes? |

The SS Lilun follows the SSV Normandy to a nearby MASS Relay, with their final destination being the citadel. The goal is to meet with the council races and possibly convince them that Obsidian Mask and his crew can possibly turn the tide of battle in the galaxy's favor against the Reapers.
Obsidian's fighter follows closely behind in stealth mode.
An interesting side note: I scaled the NOrmandy and the LIllun for this scene using their Docking port doors and it turns out that the ships are the same length. The Lillun obviously is much wider and has more upper and lower decks but basically they're both frigates of the similar keel length and roughly the same width.
For those interested the Lilun's docking port doors are located the the port and starboard of the ships hull and roughly dead center of the ship's mass in line with the main bridge and behind the main sensor arrays. |

I finally get some semblance of control over my "Divine Form" and begin looking more like myself, yeah like myself if I had a baby with a spider. Sheesh. The hardest part about all this divinity stuff is all the extra BS you have to get used to, you know like 5 pairs of eyes...that actually work...3 days of vertigo was the price for that one but in combat it's kind of a plus since no one can sneak up behind me, or to the left, right, above etc etc. In any case I get things as close to normal as I can and I've been assured that my emotional rages will subside after a while (probably after I eat someone or something close). The black Mantis has had his crew hard at work redesigning the Lillun to the point that we re-designated her the Lillun-A. Her weapons are upgraded with Phase modified, variable frequency cannons with instalock, meaning "Shields? Fuck your shields." they go right through shields that aren't in phase, and most aren't. We can now move through hyperspace as well as Space-fold and FTL. Honestly I thought Space-fold and hyperspace were the same thing but apparently they're not, one opens a portal across space and time allowing instantaneous travel, and the other is a short cut through space and time...same principal way different execution, and until recently we had no need for hyper-drives. The ship is immensely larger, by at least 30 percent and is now a light cruiser class with the firepower of a full blown battle cruiser. The bridge and all major systems got a complete overhaul, and I got new quarters, a new office, and an XO's office...never needed one of those before but Harley is welcome to it.
I would say we are more than prepared for whatever Nechronos throws at us.
A bout mid afternoon I get a call from my clan, but it's not Master Takashi, it's some Oni Jonin named Maeko, who informs me that Master Takashi was found dead in his home, apparently murdered.
"As of now Obsidian Mask I am leading our clan and I we have yet to hear from you regarding your Chunin's marriage."
Up till this point I have been reluctant to accept my divine appointment but this bitch is, being kinda pushy and I don't like her tone...So.
My image on her monitor vanishes suddenly, and she becomes Irate.
"Obsidian! Do not walk away while I am speaking! You are bound to this clan and to it's leaders, I will not..."
"Will not what...Mortal?"
My countenance is frightening when I wish it, and right this moment I do. She may be an assassin but she is still mortal and I can generate fear, the shadows in the room seem to darken, an ominous red glow takes the place of whatever light remains...and those spider legs and ten eyes will really put you off your game...they're just unsettling.
"I-I-I What is this? What trickery?"
"No trickery mortal, a god was slain and that god's power is now mine. This I would say seriously alters the dynamic of our...relationship, don't you think? Therefore the next time you speak to me in such a disrespectful manner, will be the last time you speak....at all. Am I making myself perfectly clear?"
"My lord I had no idea, please forgive my ignorance I meant no disrespect."
"Of course not, in any case the two chunin are to be wed. However, the time is at my discretion, until then I will keep you apprised of any changes. As for the clan, does anyone know what happened to Takashi?"
"It was an assassin, and a good one. at first we suspected you since he left all the same tell tale signs you are known for, but our contacts assured us you were in the company of...him."
They don't speak the Black Mantis's name, superstitions that he may come for them, and apparently on at least one occasion he did. I digress, the murder sounds like the work of my clone, I'll send you the details. Good day Jonin."
Now things are really getting interesting. Why would my clone kill Takashi? That doesn't make any sense. I shadow slide back to the Lillun and prepare to get underway, we have at least three leads and I intend to follow up on them all including Takashi's assassination. |

| The Heigaran, are a a species of evolved feline who are one the most technologically advanced species within the five galaxies. They are most known for their highly advanced cybernetics and power armor which are incredibly powerful by any standards. Heigarans are quite fond of Solarans and Katarans as well as Ailoo and have an uneasy alliance with Lunari and Lycanthos. The average Heigaran stands an impressive 7 feet tall and weighs in around 500-600 lbs. Heigaran society is well a organized Patriarchy with a single Emperor ruling their world Hegarans are quite beastial having Beast like legs Claws and large sharp fangs the later two of which they use with deadly efficiency. Heigarans consider Biting and Clawing to be more than acceptable forms of combat and have been known to hunt with these natural weapons when better weapons are unavailable. Heigaran have an immense sense of personal honor and most can be taken at their word. As one would expect they are easily offended and seek satisfaction for even an imagined slight. Heigaran are also fierce warriors and revel in combat...they are not to be taken lightly when in combat and have perfected it to an art form. |

Professional thieves are the bane of the art world and are masters of stealing that which cannot be stolen. Their skills are unmatched except by the most highly trained spies. For these adventurers high stakes are the name of the game, the more intricate the security the more they love the challenge. Of course it's not always about the score, sometimes its about the prestige, a famous heist that never turns a profit is every bit as good as the high paying theft that puts one in the lap of luxury.

| Many worlds have certain bans on select types of technology firearms, vehicles, and mecha, as well as aircraft, are often the most common contraband. On those rare occasions Obsidian has been known to comply with local authorities (Who are most often IGFW or worse yet Deities) and uses less conventional means of travel such as this Cyber-Horse. The steed itself, weighing in at 1200 lbs boasts some of the greatest firepower in his arsenal capable of obliterating entire cities (Which can be removed and stored) The horse also boasts a holographic matrix which can disguise it as any native 4 legged steed. The horse can run at speeds in excess of 265 mph and leap nearly 150 yards in a single bound. It cannot fly though it can use a limited boost leap vertically nearly 200 yards. As non-conventional construct the steed cannot be damaged by conventional weapons. It possesses a scanning package that allows it to be used to extend a small scanner's range by a factor of 10. The steed is capable of fighting independent of it's rider and can do considerable damage (like be attacked by a pair of wrecking balls. Obsidian's steed can pulverize non-conventional armored vehicles like paper. As implied it has organic components in the inner frame, a horse's brain or at least parts of one, Obsidian say this feature is critical to give his steed a measure of unpredictability, instinctiveness, and loyalty you just can't get in an AI the horse's brain is augmented by an advanced AI which allows the steed to communicate effectively with Obsidian...His steed's name incidentally is Onyx. |

The Anaran home world is incredibly mountainous having almost no flat plains anywhere on the planets surface. What level areas that do exist reside solely upon steep plateaus. The only sentient species upon this planet are as one might expect, evolved Avian Raptors who are known as the Derani. Deriani or Anarans are technologically equals to almost anyone within the five galaxies. There are few pilots who can best these natural aviators. The Anaran are predators by nature a fact that is reflected in their combative nature.
This was one of the first original species I ever tried to create for my RPG and at last I have one that I am not only proud of but fell confident in posting for the first time ever....Enjoy. |

I was sitting down watching "How to train your dragon 2" when it hit me that I could have a world like that within my 5 galaxies...so Lo...And BEHOLD!
The Dragon world, where every conceivable dragon within the 5 galaxies can all be found on one world. The Dragon Masters have tamed nearly all of them (or at least enough to ride) Dragon hunting is illegal except with a license (for population control) the People of this world fight fiercely for their Dragons and have a bond with them not quite the Equal of the that which Legendary Steed Dragons and their riders share. However, it is as close as one can get. Understandably Steed dragons are not found on this world though it seems all others are. |

| The Sortail attempting to take the Rainbow Dragon's fresh kill is obviously a yearling...this is a mistake one only makes once. It would have been better had it been the dragon's prey instead of the bird. Rainbow Dragons neurotoxin breath will cause the Sortail's muscles to contract so violently that it will crush itself to death. The Rainbow Dragon will eat well today. Few people settle on worlds populated by Rainbow dragons and those that do fly regular patrols to keep the ferocious beasts at bay. |
