Sometimes tasks need to be performed that require more meticulous detail than current drones can accomplish yet are far too hazardous for living beings and the cost for large quantities of well programmed androids is very prohibitive. Enter the "Frame" a hollow shell designed to house a human essence.  The living subject is downloaded into the frame and essentially posses the machine. The pi;lots original body is kept in stasis until the end of the assignment. While in the frame the pilot feels no pain or any sensation of any kind nor does the pilot require food or water. For all intents and purposes the pilot is a machine and subject to the same physical limitations. Prolonged confinement within the frame can cause a detachment from humanity and drive less willed people insane so it is common practice to screen applicant thoroughly before transfer. In the event of catastrophic destruction of the original most contracts include a genetic clone clause to replace the original body. Typical contracts last up to 5 years and as one might expect the frames are reusable and can be used by multiple clients though only one pilot can occupy a given Frame at a time.

I had this costume in my library and since i did the research that helped create it i thought i should do something with it. Terry McG created it (he usually does ladies costumes as most here know) but at my humble request he created this costume. This will be a worthy image for his work and of the Avenger known as Hawkeye.

As noted with their individual descriptions Griffins and hippogriffs despise one another to the point where they'll attack each other on sight (and they can see for miles). There have been many specualtions for this animosity but none quite fit, it is true that they resemble predator and prey, but when you consider that they seek each other out it doesn't quite fit. One scholar suggested that it may be a matter of competition but even when competing for food they will stop hunting to fight...the best explanation is possibly that they originated as some form of magically created hybrid and that the magics used in their separate creations somehow cause this animosity as a form of compulsion. In any case no one knows for sure but many have witnessed this hatred first hand.

I have posted an image of a griffin before but this time I have a new lighting setup. Of course griffins are commonly used as mounts and although synthetic versions are cheaper and more easily recovered from injuries. Additionally synthetic versions have many advantages over living griffins being machines as they are.  Griffins hate hippogriffs and hippogriffs hate griffins, this hatred is unheard of among non-sentient species and is profound when you consider that even when mounted they will attack one another on sight ignoring any commands and attempts by their riders who may be injured in the fight. Griffins and hippogriffs make no distinction between living and synthetic versions attack either with equal fervor and zeal. Why then would anyone want to ride a Griffin? They are loyal beyond words and very nearly sentient making them unparalleled for use as a mount and companion.

The Legendary Griffin majestic hybrid of Lion and Eagle, andoften serving as a loyal mount and companion. These grand beasts can be found soaring the skies of many worlds and have few natural enemies. However, they have what one could only describe as a supernatural hatred of one species in particular...Hippogriiffs. Griffins will attack Hippogriffs in preference to all other combatants regardless of their own personal safety or that of any rider. This aggressive behavior is thought to be a magical/genetic compulsion the cause and purpose of which is as yet unknown.

A character I'm developing I'm not sure what powers to give him beyond flight, strength, Heat expulsion, Immortality, enhanced distance vision, limited invulnerability, healing and the ability to understand any language, spoken or written.

For a back story I'm thinking he always was the phoenix and just doesn't remember his past life before his latest resurrection, a sort of amnesia affects him every time he is reborn and takes quite a bit of time to regain his lost knowledge. For the time being he poses as a hero and as his normal job he is a linguistics professor. Name Peter Nixon. Whatcha think?

I have returned to Namae where I hope to find some clue as to what happened to Ichio and I am greeted by the local authorities.  They explain that because of my diplomatic ties I must be escorted while on the planet and that my ship must remain docked.  I do manage to get clearance for my hovercycle while here so it's not a total wash. They assign me a cyborg (yeah like it could keep up) and I am told she's one of the most powerful on the planet.  Knowing the Namae...that's saying something. I begin by searching Ichio's home in the high rise district, and area so densely populated that the residential area is all high rise buildings. Ichio's apartment is on the 29th floor of one of these high rises which makes for one helluvah climb as the elevator quite naturally, is out.  Combing through his apartment I find a receipt for his charter flight and the name and logo of the agency who booked it. I also pick up residual traces of nanotech on the card itself. in the letters, and it doesn't take long for my suit's scanners to apeshit.

"WARNING Nano-intrusion detected!  Activating countermeasures." a low powerwed EMP stops the little buggers in their tracks and the sub-nanite scrubbers collect the little bots and contain them for the time being. I say nothing to the cyborg police woman who seems oblivious to the event. As I leave she puts her hand on my shoulder and asks:

"You were planning to share that evidence yes?"

No flies on this one here.

"Of course, I'll get you a sample when we return to the station."

She is far more perceptive than she lets on. Something I'll have to be mindful of in the future. I have tried repeatedly to scan her systems but her masking tech is some of the best I have ever seen and my sensors can break it.

"Where to now Mister...Mask is it?"

"Obsidian, just call me Obsidian or Kokuyōgan in your tongue."

"Ah so you speak our languages then?"

"A couple of them yes.  I spent some time here a few decades actually."

"Were you here for the Nacron invasion?"

"No just after during the cleanup."

"That was a terrible tragedy, for the whole planet."

"It seemed so to me."

"May I ask, are you expecting this to be the same or similar?"

"I hope not but my sources say there's no system safe from these Maetriks are apparently cyborgs like yourself except that they're out to end all life that they cannot control and add to their collective or hive or whatever they call themselves."

"My understanding is that they can usurp electronic devices and basically anything with a computer."

"If you're wondering if you'd be at risk the answer is yes.  Ichio was killed by these machines and gods only know what happened to him. He wasn't a cyborg in fact he was just a man and they used him to lure me out.  Now It's my mission to make sure that's a decision they live to regret."

"It sounds like you cared deeply for your friend."

"He saved my life many times, and he was a good man. You mortals are a rare bunch and we elves don't like to get to close to too many of you.  You are bright sparks in the universe, with a light more brilliant than the stars themselves then you're gone in an instant. Once in a while a mortal comes along and changes our lives forever, the way we think, act, or feel...I think that's a mortal's true purpose...to change the way the immortal races view the universe.  Ichio did such a thing for me."

"I can see why you would want justice for him then."

"Justice? No my friend this has nothing to do with justice.  Justice is for beings capable of regret.  The machines have no understanding of the concept."

"So you are seeking vengance?"

"Absolu- what the?"

Looking out of the apartment window my eyes cannot believe what they're seeing. Beings who have not made their presence known in eons are hovering high above the city. A giant pyramid shaped starship hovers ominously overhead and the cyborg and I high tail it to the street below.

"What is that thing, I'm not familiar with the type of ship."

The cyborg's words are lost on me as I frantically scan the ship to find the damned emblems that identify the GOD it belongs to.  Egyptian gods aren't like other gods, they do not exist in some distant dimension like say the Olympians, or the Asgardians, no they exist here in the mortal realm, with their full divine strength. I say a silent prayer to whatever gods may be listening and hope there is some kind of divine intervention coming.  It's one thing to challenge an avatar, but quite another to challenge a god in person. Finally my scanners locate the symbol...Osiris god of the afterlife.  At least it isn't Seth or Anubis.

The ship is quickly surrounded by Namaean forces but according to my scans they're just asking to be destroyed. The egyptian gods tech is among the best the entire known universe has to offer.  Their most formidable weapon...an antimatter cannon.  How that even works I have no clue.

"We need to help evacuate these people Obsidian, if that thing wants a fight these people are right int the mid-"

"If that thing wants a fight we're all dead.  I need to speak to them...now.  I need access to my ship."

"Why YOUR ship?"

"Because my ship has the power to drive these guys out of here if they get nasty and your don't."

"I see, in that case..." She pauses for a minute her eyes roll nearly to the back of her head and I can tell she's accessing a mainframe (robot tells)."Access granted you now have clearance to be in our airspace."

In an instant we're aboard the Lillun-2 and I hail the giant pyramid, a ship which vastly dwarfs my own. The ship's insignia identify it as the Nyuserre.

"Attention, Nyuserre this is Obsidian Mask, please state your purpose and intent."

After a moment...we receive a reply. Text only.  Tne message reads: "Move over."

I step to one side and instantly there stands before me a massive green skinned man,  with a pharaoh's beard, partially mummy-wrapped at the legs, wearing a distinctive crown with two large ostrich feathers at either side. In his hands is a large book with only two visible pages.  He looks down at me and says.

"You are Obsidian mask? Answer truthfully and know that the eye of Osiris compels you."

I can feel the power of the god's eye but I was gonna answer anyway.

"I am. What do you want of me Oh god of the afterlife?"

Gods love all the formal crap, makes me sick to my stomach actually.

"I have come to gift you, who seeks the destruction of the Maetriks.  A gidt of great power so that you might find and destroy this enemy of all."

Egyptian gods value and use technology as much as anyone in this universe and as such they would probably be susceptible to the Maetriks should they choose to attack them, and they most likely would.

"Thank you lord Osiris, I humbly accept your most generous offer (don't laugh it's not easy for me to talk like this.).  What mighty gift have you seen fit to grace this humble servant with?"

"I give you the book of Thoth, that you make undertstand the animals of the universe and the other is to understand the minds of the gods."

"A truly generous gift great Osiris, and I am honored to recieve it from your in person. You do my house great honor indeed."

Having a god grant you an audience is pretty awesome, having one pay you a personal visit is unheard of...unless you know the gods I know.

"The honor Obsidian is mine, I have learned of your great deeds from the God Karr and his pantheon, the universe is many times in your debt.  I ma saddened that we must ask you once again to place yourself in danger for those who will never know the good you do. Upon your successful return my peers and I would like to show our gratitude for all you have done."

I bow, genuinely. "Thank you.  It's an honor to hear you speak those words, and I mean that. I rarely receive thanks for my deeds and I would never presume to ask for any, but it warms my heart to hear it nonetheless."

With that, the mighty god of the afterlife places the tome in my hand and returns to his vessel.  For once I'm a bit speechless.  The mighty Pyramid ship departs with haste and I am left there feeling for the first time that what I do and the sacrifices I make are noticed by someone at least and appreciated by at least a few.
I bid the cyborg farewell and set course for Kryllia 4 the home base for the Travel agency that Icio used to book his ship. Time to get some answers.

I have teleported to the planet's surface. The divine being known as Gredienar is expecting me to kneel, bow, and scrape, to save my life and that of my crew but that's not why I'm here.  No I am here as a matter of defiance, I have pushed around by the Black Mantis, and enough so called GODS to last me my immortal life, and I have had enough of this place and I want to go home!!!  I summon my sword to my hand keeping the blade retracted, if this guy is an elder god he'll know what he's in for and he won't show his face.  This demonstrates he is clearly not an Elder god and and appears in giant form (a favorite of gods ruling through intimidation) he stands roughly ten meters tall and looks really menacing.  There are many tribes in attendance here to watch me grovel but boy are they in for a surprise.  In a booming voice they "God of the people" addresses the crowd.

"Many of you know this man, and thought him a demon or a god.  I have brought him low and proved him false before you. I have made him tremble for his life and instilled fear in him and his people. His lies are laid bare for all to see and none will challenge my right to rule as your GOD!!!"

The crowd is in awe and fear as they look upon me, many of them are jeering and booing me while still other look dejected at the thought of my being a false god.

"Now he will confess before you of his falseness.  Speak to them false one and tell them the truth of your deception."

I take a deep breath and cast a spell increasing the volume of my voice so people on the other side of the world might hear me, okay maybe not that loud but easily enough to match this god.

"Good people, you have called me god, or demon, but I have never said I was these things.  I am not in fact either of these things.  I am like you save that you are mortal.  I  am untouched by time but fate and misfortune are my enemy as much as they are yours.  I am sorry if you have been misled it was not my intention and do not want you to worship me.  I cannot hear your prayers and will not be able to answer them. It was never my intention to mislead you"

It is clear from the look on many faces that my words have left them dejected and still others are smiling with a smug grin, I hate that but I don't say anything. In truth all I really want is for this god to leave me alone but then he opens his mouth one more time and says something that I make certain he regrets for the rest of his immortal life.

"he has taken from you wives for himself, and promised you eternal peace.  There will be no peace with him or his people!!!  I will demonstrate that I am the true god of the people and destroy them all starting with this one."

You almost have to laugh when someone says something like without taking even a second to figure out what they're up against.  Now at first you might think to yourself "But Obsidian this guy is a greater god, capable of rending the continents you're totally screwed right?"  and under normal circumstances you'd be right but I'm about to do something that will kind of even the odds.

"Gredienar!  Would you challenge me with your weak, pathetic, and feeble avatar hiding your true self far away?  Go ahead then show these people how much you truly fear me by hiding your true self away. Demonstrate the cowardice that is your true self."

Now I have basically just called this guy out and he has two choices: Eradicate me on the spot with his avatar or do the thing I just know he's gonna do.  Instead he surprises even me with the thing he says next.

"I do not fear you mortal, you stand before me in my true form already. I ma a god and have nothing to fear from the likes of you."

That's music to my ears. I release the blade from within the handle and utter the words.

"Wanna bet?"

The gigantic being laughs at my audacity, apparently someone has tried this stunt before. Well not the way I'm about to do it. His hand glows and he calmly says

"Begone insect."

As a blast of white energy engulfs me and vaporizes the ground I was just standing on. it takes a second for the dust and smoke to clear, but when it does the look on this guy's face is priceless.  Lo and behold, yours truly is standing defiantly before him without a scratch, although the power sinks in my armor read ten percent of full capacity, and to be honest that's pretty impressive considering a one megaton explosion wouldn't get half of a percent.  Still the armor won't take but a few more of those and I honestly think he was holding back because the look of confusion on his face is replaced quickly with rage.

"You live? No matter I will destroy you once and for all."

Another blast only this time I don't stick around to absorb the energy.  Again the smoke clears only this time he lets out a hearty chuckle and says to those watching.

"See now I have destroyed him.  Now bow before your...GAHHHHH!!!"

He creams as I take my enchanted blade across his back cutting a gash nearly as long and I am tall. he falls to one knee and the look of rage returns as he has just realized....I can hurt him.

The crowd screams and flees in a panic trampling over each other in a desperate bid to escape the onslaught of destruction they know will surely ensue. A bolt of fire screams past me and impacts not far away leaving a massive crater large enough to fit a bus in.  I toss one of my own via my sword and it hits him square in the face knocking his ornate headdress clean off. it disintegrates to nothing consumed by the magical flames.  he reels from the pain and a bolt of lightning screams towards me. it hits me in the chest and the armor again absorbs the power.  The sinks are now charged to thirty percent.  I guess he stopped holding back.  The earth beneath my feet cracks open in an attempt to cause me to plummet to my death and he is not amused to see me hovering above the newly created chasm.  he pulls out two odd looking crescent blades and I laugh out loud this time. and extend my blade once more.

"Who are you?"  He screams in rage.  "How do you resiste my power? How can you defy me?"

"I am Obsidian Mask, I am Luminesti, an immortal elf, and this is my blade God Slayer, want to guess how it got it's name?"

For just a moment I watch his eyes as he begins to comprehend the gravity of the situation.  You see there are very few ways to kill a god such as: Being and equally or more powerful god, or combining divine power to equal a more powerful god, or (as in my case) be an immortal being with a relic. What is a relic? A relic is a magical item of extreme power, so extreme that most  divine beings try to conceal them, unable to destroy them by any means. My sword is such an item. It's power is insane, it can cast spells many times more powerful than mortal spells, and I can slay anyone who wields it with but a word, and most importantly the damage it does is not even close to proportional to it's appearance. What does this mean to our friend Gredienar? it means that he has just realized not only can I hurt him, but I can actually kill him.  The only problem for me is that I don't want his power nor his obligations and they would all be mine just as Mooshadow's were when  I gained her divine power accidentally.

The divine giant attacks again and again and my power armor absorbs each attack again and again.  The power sinks filling more and more.  he tries to use his swords but my relic makes short work of them cutting them to pieces. I retaliate again and again cutting him a little deeper each time burning him electrocuting and even freezing him little by little.  Were it not for my armor he would've had made short work of me and he knows it.  Twice he tries to teleport my weapons and armor away and twice I recall them to me. He is in full out panic mode and unleashes raw energy from his hands in a desperate attempt to destroy me. My armor takes it and I can feel it shudder as it absorbs more energy than I ever though possible.  In a final bid to end this fight which has laid waste to everything for miles I take a flying leap at his head and transfer all of the stored power  to my kinetic gauntlet for one finishing blow. Under normal circumstances I can lift about twenty tonnes but my gauntlets add all the power he's been thrown at me and it's just too much for him to take. With a thundering boom  I connect solidly with his jaw and two of his divine teeth go flying knocking him cold.  When he finally regains consciousness he is much smaller in stature, and nearly powerless.  My blade is resting against his throat and he knows he's a dead man that is until...

"You know I could just kill you?"

"Then why don't you?"

"Because I don't want to."

"What is it you want?"

"What I want, is for you to do right by these people and let me and my people go home.  In return you can tell them you defeated me and I was destroyed."

"And if I choose not to?"

"I have placed enough spells on you to make you go away for a long long time. I will banish you to the freaking void never to return again.  Now you wasted a lot of power here today and I don't imagine you'll regain it any time soon without these people to worship you. So choose wisely."

'Fine so be it."

"My wives will leave with me, I will not turn my back on my responsibilities, and you will give them your approval.  I will not have them going through some kind of inner conflict between you and me.  Do this and I let bygones be bygones...refuse and God Slayer here lives up to it's name.  Deal?"

"Deal."

Gods are unlike demons in one very important aspect, they are somehow compelled to keep their word, well most of them anyway. Here's hoping this one is one of the former.

In the end he lives up to his word, he repairs the damage we wrought, even resurrecting the people who died in the conflict (that's costly to a god by the way) and gives my wives his blessing and his leave. The vortex reappears once more right where it should be and we are on our way home. We have been here only a few short days but at home it has only been a few minutes...all in all I would call this a success. assuming of course that we arrive at home on the other side. I have all stations report in and once ready we make the jump. The ride back is every bit as rough as the ride in but knowing what to expect has helped us better fortify our systems and the damage is nearly so bad as the first time. The debris field remains and the vortex is somehow smaller afar less intense. We leave this place "the ghost world"  behind and I hope I never return.

As we travel through the slipstream to Kryllia prime I find myself alone in my office with a moment of quiet contemplation. As I stare out into the swirling light of the stream, a voice speaks from out of nowhere, a famailiar voice I had hope to never hear again.

"You're welcome Obsidian."

I turn on a dime to see the diminutive form of none other than the Black Mantis himself. Fear and panic rise up inside me and anyone who has ever encountered this man knows both are well deserved.

"What?"

I ask trying to conceal the terror in my voice. I have known this being for centuries now and I would rather fight ten gods than be in his presence. Still, he just said you're welcome, and I need to know why.  He walks over my desk sits down and props his feet on my desktop.

"You didn't really think you defeated Gredienar, so easily all by your little lonesome did you?"

"It' didn't feel like easy to me."

"Well it was, Your armor isn't what it used to be is it? No you should never have been able to absorb that much power.  I mean come on he was a Greater god for crying out loud. Still I couldn't just let him destroy you.  No I have plans for you, so I just thought I'd let you know I'm looking out for you....Heh heh."

With that he vanishes, and I'm shaking in my boots. He and I were finished, but it's clear now he's neer gonna give up trying to make a minion out of me, and there's no way to defeat him and no one I know of who can challenge him.  What am I going to do?

So I had this idea for my game which helped to explain some Earth mythology. A prison ship on it's way to a penal planet was struck by an meteor or some such forcing it to land on the primitive 15th century Earth. The crew and most of the prisoners survived though nearly all of them escaped. These escapees humans would call "Monsters" and being that they were the worst examples of their species, Solarans (humans) simply assumed that all of them were evil. This superstition combined with some mispronunciation lead to many of the mythologies that human in my game believed in for centuries. It also explains why in later centuries all of these "Monsters" seemingly disappeared. The above creature is one of those "Monster" species a Gobellian (Often mispronounced Goblin), they are from the planet Gobell (Pronounced: go-bell as in slow and well) they are diminutive creatures being only about 3 and a half feet tall. There greatest accomplishments lie in weapons technology having developed some of the most powerful explosives in the five galaxies. Their skin is brown or green and covered in scales suggesting that they may have been descended from reptiles. Good and evil run equally among their people as in Solarans (humans).

I begin my search for Nechronos by first hunting down Takashi's killer, and it doesn't take long to
find my little clone, holed up in a warehouse yet. I decide to handle this old school and begin making my way through the vents. Fortunately for me this warehouse doesn't house anything sensitive so they don't have any sensors in their ventilation shafts. I don't make a sound and it impressed even me how silent I have become. My new powers grant me a level of stealth I have never known before, I mean it's one thing to not make a noise come from you, but no noise comes from anything I touch this means even if I rolled around in these vents nobody would hear the metal buckle. It's creepy actually but as an assassin, dear gods it's frightening.  I spot my quarry below me about 30 feet down and he's discussing his report with an Hadean underling who I let leave without incident...no sense killing when I don't have to. I slowly descend upside down on a single strand of webbing, it doesn't creak like rope or cable and  numb nuts doesn't suspect a thing. I am taken bu surprise when he speaks, seriously.

"Come to finish me off?"

He says as he turns to face me. I'm dying to know how he knew I was there but I play it off like it's nothing.

"Word is you did Takashi."

"I did. He was interfering with Nechronos' plans so i was ordered to pay him off or dispose of him. He wouldn't accept the money so..."

"So he basically signed his own death warrant."

"Exactly. I'm surprised you're here, I know you didn't care for him..he was so very pushy."

"Don't get it twisted cloneboy, I'm not here for vengance, I'm here for answers. I want to know what Nechronos is planning and where he's hiding."

"I don't have those answers and if I did I'm certain he would compel me to keep them secret."

He draws his sword, to my utter disbelief. The last time we met I spared him, and gave him his free will.

"I grant you your freedom and this is what you do with it? You do know I'll not be so forgiving this time right?"

"What are you talking about? Until now we have never met. Ah you must be talking about 7, he was...disposed of as well...In truth none of us wanted to do it but that damned compulsion."

"I could free you like I did him. We could use your help and two of me would be incredibly formidable."

"The master has thought of that...he has an eternity crystal...and none of us will be free so long as he lives!"

With that, the moron lunges with his sword, presumably to catch me off guard. I repay his stupidity with a well place fist upside his forehead which sends him flying across the length of the building stopping only when his body meets the reinforced walls. With a flick of my wrists I secure the exits with a powerful webbing that would be difficult for me to cut. He begins to visibly panic scanning the room quickly for an alternate means of escape. There isn't any and he knows it, now he'll fight like the caged animal I just turned him into.

He assumes the standard Djinok ninja fighting stance, and I laugh.

"That's not going to work you know?"

"I'm compelled to do whatever is necessary to complete my mission or die in the attempt.  I can't let you stop me."

He lunges for me again but this time I head butt him sending him reeling from the impact. he swings his blade even more fiercely again and again locking swords with me in this form is practically an exercise in stupidity and tantamount to suicide, I catch his arm under mine pinning him. With the tip of my blade at this throat, I ask him just one question.

"Give me one good reason not to shove this blade straight through your skull."

"One huh?  How about this: I hate Nechronos as much as you do."

"What?"

The answer is really good and I ease my grip...just a little.

"Say that again?"

"We all hate him. We're you...we remember everything you do. We know he caused 7 to kill Moonshadow...and there's nothing we can do about it.  We have to obey him...but..."

"But what?"

"We are somewhat rebellious, we can act outside his orders or twist them..when he's not careful we can do a lot of damage to his plans."

"What do you mean?"

"If for instance he tells me to kill someone I can choose when so long as he doesn't specify. Right now in this situation, I can negotiate my way out if I deem it necessary."

"Because you're compelled to do WHATEVER is necessary to complete your mission."

"Precisely. We are compelled to obey him, but..."

"But what?"

"If he were no longer in a position to give orders, like say if he were stone dead. Then we would all be free."

"You keep saying we, and all, exactly how many of me are there?"

"In total thirty seven were created. Thus far twelve have been sacrificed for whatever this plan of his is."

"Holy shit!!! All that from n arm?"

"There's more.  Five of us have your technology and armor."

"Fantastic!  Well at least I know how to dispose of them if I need to.  How did they get hold of my technology though? I mean that is a lot of Absorbium-80 to make 5 suits, we usually recycle ours."

"Nechronos has a man inside the Black Mantis's ranks who has been funneling resources to him. I don't know how he contacts him or any details but I have overheard him speaking to someone he calls Shadowmaster."

"Okay so lets assume I believe all of this...what exactly are you proposing?"

"Nechronos never once told us to be loyal, he told us to obey, and we do. If you promise to kill him and set us all free I'll deliver information to you that will help you stop him...think of me as a mole. If he finds out though he'll wise up and correct the situation. In which case you'll be screwed."

"If that happens i may have no choice but to kill all of you."

"It's a risk we're willing to take, for her. No matter what though, you make that sonofabitch pay for Moonshadow."

"I'm going to risk this, just this once, I know you're not lying, but if you go back on this agreement of your own free will..."

"I know the consequences."

I release his arm and he walks over to a nearby computer. He taps a few buttons and waves me over.

"Take this."

To my surprise he holds up  a data storage chip. Then adds.

"This is a copy of the information I was sent here to get. I was ordered to destroy it when i was done recovering it but he never said I couldn't make a copy for you before i recovered the data.  Like I said...We all hate him."

With a wave of my hand the webbing sealing the exits dissipates and he the clone nods.

"Just one last thing Obsidian."

"What's that?"

"You're gonna have to do some damage..or he'll never believe a word i tell him and he'll make me tell him the truth so if you want to this chip you're gonna have to pry it out of my fingers."

The words no sooner escape his mouth when I send him crashing into another wall with a single blow.  I take the chip from his unconscious body and check to make sure there's no permanent damage and take my leave.  Dissension in the ranks? I'm actually flattered that even a clone of me would still find a way to be as much me as they could. Not sure what'll happen if they all gain their freedom, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna cost me some contracts.

I arrive on campus and am directed to doctor Ragoone's office, as I approach the door I hear what sounds like someone turning the place upside down. Instinctively I kick in the door and am greeted by on old fashioned, honest to goodness, genuine, Japanese Ninja. He turns to face me and drops a smoke bomb at my feet to obscure his movements but that is a very useless tactic with my cybernetics. I grab him by the collar and fling him across the room. He lands rather deftly on his feet and reaches for the sword strapped to his back...I can't help but start laughing. He's all business though and takes a stance to fight. I would normally just drop this guy but I'm curious as to what his deal is. My cursory scans reveal a whole inventory of ancient Ninja weapons and tools but no tech, and no magic...this guy is a relic...I draw my sword and extend the blade, his eyes get a bit wider and I know I have his undivided attention...and that he's never seen anything like that before. I speak Japanese so I ask him do you know the the date? His answer comes as no surprise to me...time travel is such a bitch.

This is an image of an automated nano-surgical table standard on all IGFW starships. This sort of treatment is usually for a quick repair of un-salvageable limbs and is for immediate repairs only, Personnel can opt to have cloned limbs replaced at a facility better equipped to handle such procedures. Tactile sensation of modern Cybernetic implants is 90 percent which is quite high. The minor loss of sensation usually only takes a couple of weeks of adjustment. If necessary full replacement of all organs and skeletal structures with a loss of only 8% of tactile sensation and many people do opt for such replacements as they are a great way to extend one's life span but such a procedure is not without it's drawbacks after all a full cyborg is still a machine and machines break and have their own set of vulnerabilities and legal restrictions. Synthetic Cyborgs are still in their early trials and as yet no full conversion Syntheborgs have been attempted.

On an artistic note, the image seen here has no post-work and is a raw image, one I must say I'm very proud of.

IGFW Database 47265 Elephant  (Pachyderm): Elephants are mammals of the family Elephantidae and the largest existing land animals. Three species are currently recognized: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. Elephantidae is the only surviving family of the order Proboscidea; extinct members include the mastodons. The family Elephantidae also contains several now-extinct groups, including the mammoths and straight-tusked elephants. African elephants have larger ears and concave backs, whereas Asian elephants have smaller ears, and convex or level backs. Distinctive features of all elephants include a long trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, massive legs, and tough but sensitive skin. The trunk, also called a proboscis, is used for breathing, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. The pillar-like legs carry their great weight.

Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia and are found in different habitats, including savannahs, forests, deserts, and marshes. They are herbivorous, and they stay near water when it is accessible. They are considered to be keystone species, due to their impact on their environments. Other animals tend to keep their distance from elephants; the exception is their predators such as lions, tigers, hyenas, and wild dogs, which usually target only young elephants (calves). Elephants have a fission-fusion society, in which multiple family groups come together to socialize. Females (cows) tend to live in family groups, which can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with offspring. The groups, which do not include bulls, are led by the (usually) oldest cow, known as the matriarch. (Wiki entry)

IGFW Database 377265 Canine (Dog): Known as "Man's best friend"  Canines are still kept as pets in many Solaran households.  These animals are considered highly intelligent and come in dozens of different breeds and can often be found in some workplaces as more than a simple mascot. They are often fiercely loyal but can be rather territorial.  A well-trained dog can be a formidable adversary in combat and many have been bred for just such a purpose.  War dogs are battle-hardened against gunfire and explosions and place the safety of their handler above their own. Their powerful senses have even made them candidates for Genetic engineering though current law (due to treaties with the Lunari) prohibits artificially evolving them into feraloids. War dogs are, however, far larger than their civilian counterparts.

IGFW Database 21187 (Alligator): Alligators, similarly Crocodiles, Caimans and their various other cousins are large carnivorous reptiles that make their homes near large bodies of water often swamps or murky inland lakes but can also be found in large oceans usually near shorelines. These Carnivorous creatures attack most often by ambush bu can also chase prey despite their cumbersome appearance achieving speeds as fast as 30 MPH in water and  11MPH on land at full gallop. They have quick reflexes and powerful jaws that can easily;y snap bones but the tactic they are most famous for is the roll wherein they grab their prey and pull it into the water and roll rapidly drowning their prey.  caution should be used when traveling in areas where these creatures are known to inhabit.

IGFW Mid-Range fighters are now the standard for the fleet replacing the older fighters.  The F-357 nicknamed the "Magnum"  or  "The Widowmaker" is a warp capable multi-role trans-atmospheric fighter.  Carrying a standard payload of no less than 32 long range antimatter intercept missiles 24 fire and forget AAI (Advance artificial intelligence) missiles capable of "dogging" a target and evading enemy fire, and 8 multipurpose IFC (in flight configurable) multifunction missiles and a single omni-directional Antiproton beam generator. The F-357 is a formidable warbird.  Fast sleek and stealth capable this machine is the pinnacle in federation fighter technology. The F-357 boasts regenerative shields capable of withstanding a direct hit from a 20 gigaton warhead.  Survivability on the battlefield was the primary concern for designers going forward and the effort shows. The craft is considerably larger than most space fighters at roughly 6 meters in length and 2.5 meters wide the large profile would seem to make it an easy target and were it not for the sensor-spoof technology it most certainly would be but getting a positive target lock on one of these death machines is easier said than done as it sends false readings which cause most sensors to falsely indicate that it is nearly 20 meters from its actual position.  Pinpoint  VMG thrusters allow this agile craft to turn 180 degrees in an instant these are synced with the Inertial invertors to prevent undue stress on the pilot. The powerplant is a JK Riggs dual antiproton injected core lined with Absorbium 120 which boasts a maximum output of 2.2 million gigawatts per hour for 6 hours at maximum output. The F-357 is capable of traveling at 5xLS5  for maximum range of roughly 10.7 light years before needing to refuel with an emergency reserve for an additional 30 minutes of flight time.  An Adamantine reinforced pilot's compartment with built in maneuvering thrusters (which can be ejected in the event of catastrophic or impending damage) is resistant to tractor emitters and is visible most scanners as simple debris.  Upon ejecting the warp cores are designed to breach destroying the fighter in a spectacular explosion which also acts to cloak the pilot's escape. Sensor scans of the fighter will detect only debris allowing the pilot to escape once the aggressors have departed. The federation does not consider any of it's fighter pilots or other crew expendable and works tirelessly to insure mission success and survivability are paramount.
