| Another one of the original ladies of Unicorn Comics. Gwen Chin Lao has been kicking major butt in the UC universe for a long time and looks just as lovely now as she did wayyyy back then. Tiger Lily not only is a master of several forms of martial arts but she also happens to come from a secret village called Kem Ta tha dwells in another dimension [sounds kinda familiar dont it?]. While other female martial artists are depicted as soft natured individuals who abhore violence..TL's the exact opposite. She loves a good scrap now and then. This is based on an idea a friend of mine had. He wrote a script for the comic, hired an artist, and asked me to do the colors. Typical zombie apocalypse story, but the main character was based on his girlfriend at the time. She loves both zombies and comic books and this was meant to be a gift for her. Sadly, she ended it with him before the artist (who backed out of the project shortly before) could even draw the first page. I still liked the concept, though, and I have yet to do a horror style image, so here it is. Comments are encouraged, especially since this is my first foray into horror.
One thing I am aware of is the absence of any shadows created by the figures in the image. This was just because I rendered each detail as a seperate layer and patched them together in photoshop and I couldn't quite get the shadows to work right. I did try to arrange them in a way that keeps you from noticing unless you're looking really closely, though |

A fantasy genre character I call Moon Tracker. Reputedly she can track a mouse 3 days after a snowfall and put an arrow through a quarter sized coin at 100 meters. Who knows? Even myths have some foundation though.
Image uses Vicky 4, Ranger morph and outfit (seemed appropriate), using Tawhak character. Lighting uses Light Dome Pro. Post work (snow build up around feet, breath condensation, tracks) done in PaintShop Pro.

While rock climbing Rene Ironknife suddenly fell through into a cave containing an ancient alter. Upon touching it she was bestowed the power to fly and create ethereal flame. Dragging her kicking and screaming into the life of a reluctant super heroine.
(although arguably Rene admits she does look REALLY good in spandex) |

BEATA ADAMCZYK grew up on the rough streets of Sunset Park, a formally Polish family. While others moved on and moved out the Adamczyk's stayed. Brought up in a strict Catholic household Beata's faith would also lead to the transformation of her life.
After a Sunday mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa her mother, father, and brother were gunned down in broad daylight by gang members. Beata all of sixteen ran and took to the streets,and began contemplating her revenge.
Where she gained her skill with firearms or brutal martial arts skill is unknown. Taking the name Killer Bee the girl, now a woman has carved a bloody swath through NYC's underworld.
Notes: Taken from an old sketch (a really bad one), the Killer Bee is done in my usual love it or hate it style. I tried a bit more with the shading here to give a more 3d look. Jackets are still a pain in the posterior! Anyway finish work was done in Tiffen FX 1.0 an app I am quickly learning I cannot live without.

After way over a month out of commission, thanx to a corrupted 1TB Hard Drive, in which I had lost everything, Family pics & vids, music, all my art, personal docs and what not, after 3 weeks 24/7 nonstop, Hard Drive data recovery with.. Recover My Files, which has earned an honorable mention from me... http://www.recovermyfiles.com/
I am back to duty. Recovered all my personal data, some of my not so personal and a portion of My extensive runtime library.
Unfortunately I will not be able to participate in this months awesome challenge, with an awesome prize, due to all the down time but hey, I'll be ready for the next one....
*Update* No particular, theme, or meaning to this pic other than to check everything is working at 100%. Over 25 dsf, texture files where missing before this could finalize... |

| My favorite Unicorn character creation. Tantrum is actually a tribute to my eldest daughter Tiffani Bell [even carrying her actual name]. Possessing super strength, invulnerability and a never surrender attitude, Tantrum is perhaps the strongest female in UC Comics. Much like the Hulk her strengths grow as her anger does..and she gets angry quite often. My partner Henry Samson is responsible for the battlesuit costume design and I am glad to have recreated it in this media. Tantrum is the first in a series of images I'm posting as a tribute to some of my first and favorite female characters of the Unicorn Universe.
