| Batmic Begins BatMic Marvel Comics 2007/4/21 10:06 2954 7
hi folks, oh it's been a long time since i've done any pics. sorry i've been away for a while but u have tried to keep up with things here at HM.the quality of work is still pretty high here but i guess that was never going to change.
i always feel that a human torch pic helps me get back into the swing of things, so here's one. |
| iceman by batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/7/19 10:10 3045 6
this was originaly going to be colossus and that is why the guy is so big, but as i was playing with different chrome effects i came up with this and so iceman was born. i used quite a few tutorials for this to create different ice effects but the one for iceman is all me. |
| Human Torch 2 BatMic Marvel Comics 2005/3/2 7:24 3091 7
hi guys, i've been fairly quite for a while mainly due to a lack of inspiration, but hopefully this should put me back into the swing of things. |
| Daredevil by Batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/2/18 13:19 3144 1
why is so difficult to find a good photo of a male model. this was a toss-up between DD and Spider-man, i might Spider-man sometime but all the negative remarks about how difficult it is to do the webs kinda puts me off.

| nova by batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/6/18 15:29 3233 6
i've had this base for a while and that other pic of nova was the push i needed to do something with it. the only thing i can't seem to work out is getting the starry reflections on the body, right now it just looks like gold paint. if any one has any ideas please let me know. |
| viggo as batman. BatMic DC Comics 2004/8/6 23:25 3254 6
a quickie. whenever i see batman maniped it is very hard to make out any detail because the image is so dark, hopfully i managed a nice balance with this. the model is Viggo Mortensen. |
| Human Torch by batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/4/6 15:19 3387 7
the inspiration for this was the "torch on patrol pic" and seeing the image of a swimmer diving off. it allowed me to try some different techniques too. also the background pic was from the 9/11 tribute. i hope i haven't upset anyone, but it was a lovely image and appropriate i felt for the FF. |
| original character #2 BatMic Original Characters 2004/10/18 1:52 3456 6
this one took ages, most of the time was trying to figure out a decent setting, thanks to all who helped steer me in the right direction. i used a screen capture of Barad-dur from The Lord of the Rings and i think it turned out ok. the original pic was HUGE so much of the texture on the suit has been lost when i shrank it down. |
| PUNISHER by Batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/2/19 15:15 3511 5
this was done in a few hours. maybe i could have spent more time on the belt but i really didn't know what to do with it. the pouches were cut and paste and seem to work.
anyway that's enough apology, now tell me what's wrong with it. |
| Spider-Man BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/2/20 9:34 3522 5
i enjoyed doing this pic. i think when you start to do an image that you are dreading and suddenly you can see it working out, it can be a surprise. i drew in the webs, added some extra shading and also tilted his head up a bit. the base pic was a guy lying on the floor and when i rotaed it the head seemed to hang downwards. i also experimented with light sources on this one.

| nova II by batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/6/22 10:22 3553 10
another nova from me. i have a thing right now for fiery femmes, my next one will be fire star. quite a simple pic, the base was just some chick jumping in the air so i desaturated it, inverted it and using the curves, created a more metallic look. the fire was done using the clouds filter and different lighting effects but what i like the most is the reflections. it makes her more a part of the pic rather than simply being placed on top of a baxkground.
oh! and i did the background from scratch in case anyone was wondering. enjoy! |
| super-colossus the mutant of steel BatMic Original Characters 2005/1/14 11:05 3651 13
what if colossus was raised on a farm in kansas?just a quickie entry for january's challange. |
| Spider-man black BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/7/25 15:01 3654 5
just fooling around. alot of the SP2 pics have this sort of twilight look to them and i thought it would look good in a teaser for SP3 assuming they use the much cooler venom suit. |
| The Venom Suit BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/7/2 8:15 3656 3
brand new pic. only took me about 2hours. the main thing that i wanted to get across was that the venom suit (ultimate spiderman that is) was not black but a dark velvety purple. ialso added some noise to the model so that he blended more into the pic. |
| marvel team up BatMic Marvel Comics 2005/8/17 16:44 3727 8
i saw this background of the future Freedom Tower, and thought it would be cool to see two of New York's finest heroes in front of it. i did spidey in black for a change cos we all know he'll be in this suit for the third movie ( fingers crossed) . Enjoy. |
| Superman to the rescue BatMic DC Comics 2004/7/14 10:26 3748 18
thought you all might be interested in this. superman was lifted from a comic so that's why he looks abit cartoony but the main thing i'm quite proud of is the explosions, just a little tweaking like the adding of a lens flare at the point of origin and the reflection on the plane. it was quite a fun piece to do actually, makes a nice change from T&A pics. |
| firestar BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/7/6 23:31 3763 6
this has took a while. the legs on the model took the longest i just couldn't get them right so i swapped them for these.still not happy with the fire effect i can't imagine what a microwave heat would look like. i think i have to try ice-man now just to complete the set. |
| hellbat BatMic DC Comics 2004/2/2 14:37 3847 7
someone else did this with a hellboy image and i liked it so much i tried my own version. |
| poison ivy cover BatMic DC Comics 2004/8/16 15:01 3975 6
i was in the middle of doing this when the other excellent ivy cover was posted. some of the techniques used were probably the same but hopefully they each stand out as two very different pics. |
| astro city by batmic BatMic Other Comics 2004/6/12 23:42 4024 9
okay first an apology to winterhawk, whom i borrowed this image from partly because i thought that it wasn't getting used. i couldn't resist doing this one, it was going to be superman but then i remembered the samaritan from astro city and it just clicked. it didn't take that long, the only thing i 'm not too happy with is the skin tone 'cos the original was black and white. well i hope you like it and i never meant any offense. put it in the right gallery now . |
| fantastic 4 BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/10/26 17:58 4041 4
first i did thing, then i tought it would be nice to have the torch in there. and then i had this pic of jamie pressly so i put sue in and well i flung reed in there because i may as well finish the set. oh and of course doc doom was put in for the background. not a very well planned pic but i enjoyed doing it.
| elektra BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/2/6 10:06 4152 5
tried elektra . i thought the pose could really work but i just got frustrated with it. i could do with some pointers. |
| Spider-girl 2 BatMic Marvel Comics 2005/1/3 14:15 4170 13
a combination of the movie design and the comic design. i gave her exposed hair just to make it more obvious that it is a girl. the really hard part was making her fit into the background. |
| the bat & the cat BatMic DC Comics 2004/5/8 11:08 4185 5
i really need some help when it comes to backgrounds. this is the recent catwoman suit which is more realistic but not as sexy ( i think ) as her old ones. the bat i kept simple, just cowl, cape and chin. thoughts? |
| tom cruise as nightwing by batmic BatMic DC Comics 2004/5/1 12:50 4237 9
this is a very quick one that's been bouncing in my head ever since i got MI:II on dvd. it's a screen capture and i added the mask with the same methods i used for Black Cat. i have a few more different pics i'm working on but i had to get this one up when i found the site online again. |
| iron fist gender swap BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/3/31 23:18 4385 5
to be honest i would be more excited about the iron fist movie if this chick was starring rather than ray park. the guy is a good martial artist but he's no actor. the costume here is slightly different but i hope i kept the oriental feel to it. |
| supergirl sketch BatMic DC Comics 2004/9/21 14:57 4387 11
thought i'd try something different. i wanted a pastel sort of sketch effect and i think it turned out okay. |
| spider-girl by batmic BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/6/14 9:47 4616 11
i did something quite stupid with this. i started off making just the mask and i liked how it turned out so then i began making the rest of the suit but i couldn't get the mask and the suit to look the same. it hopefully isn't that noticeable but to me it sticks out a mile.
next time i'll leave the rest of her costume and post it i the adult gallery, i'm sure there's an audience for naked swinging spider-chicks.
this is also the debut of my logo, almost every one has one, so....! |
| Raven by batmic BatMic Original Characters 2004/7/11 18:36 4623 10
here's my entry for the original character contest. this is a design i've had for a number of years now i call him Raven. now i know that there are other characters with that name, but if we can have two different Captain Marvels then this should be okay. in short, this is my batman. in the future the central belt of Scotland has merged to become one big city, with crime escalating and rival gangs, The Glazwieginz and the Edinboyz fighting, one man rises to the call. with superior strength, reflexes and intelligence they don't stand a chance. he also has retractable wings, and enhanced vision. hope you like it! |
| SPIDER-WOMAN BatMic Marvel Comics 2004/2/7 16:56 4681 6
this is yana cova as spider-woman and my first attempt at this character. i don't think the lighting is quite right but, overall i am happy with the way it turned out. |
