I'd like to get back to this at some point and do more with this after my computer gets up to par but due to technical dificulties, this is about as far as I can get on this one before everything goes CRASH! Poser and Daz imported into Bryce. Very little postwork. Thanks Biohaz for the helpful suggestions. |

Been trying to motivate myself into doing something new so I figured I'd start by redoing my last piece... wasn't so happy with the woman in the piece the first time so I redid her. I like this one better but the rest of the pic is the same. |

| Nick Fury and the Agents of Shield pijon Marvel Comics 2012/4/27 23:30 2890 10
From Left to Right: SHIELD agents Dum Dum Dugan, Nick Fury and the Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine A couple of years ago, I had attempted to do a Nick Fury pic with a nod to artist Jim Steranko thrown in. In the end, I don't think it did a terribly effective job at paying tribute to Nick Fury or Steranko or showcasing my skills either. So... in an attempt to draw inspiration from my own lack of inspiration, I decided to see if I couldn't do a little better job on the subject (which isn't saying much). On a technical note, 2 M4's and one V4 used, bodysuits for everyone, Ghost Agent harness, M4 Witch Hunter boots, V4 Biker boots and various belts from different sets. I did a fair amount of original modeling here... Shield logos modeled and rendered in Bryce (Everything else rendered in DS3). I also built a number of items in Hexagon like Dum Dum's derby and 'stache, holsters, arm and wrist bracers and all firearm. Updated: Bouncier boobs (Contessa only) and a few other more modest upgrades |

| Killjoy pijon Other Comics 2008/11/24 17:44 3062 8
Okay, guess I'm really plumbing the depths of obscurity this time! Google "Ditko Killjoy" and you might even find online reprints of Killjoy's two appearances as a backup feature in Charlton's E-Man. It is Steve Ditko at his most irreverent and at his silliest. Anyway I realized hadn't really done a decent Ditko tribute piece so I thought I'd attempt one with Killjoy attempting to land a shot on the very slippery S.S.S. Snake. |

Decided to see if I couldn't dust off this old piece of mine and see if I couldn't make it look a little better. Same models (M3's), scene, lights, props, textures, etc.. The only thing I changed in the render file was the direction and color of GL's eyes. However, I did tweak a couple of render settings and play around in Photoshop a bit.

| Bat Lash pijon DC Comics 2008/10/21 11:17 3411 11
Yeah, I'm still trying to see just how many characters I can jam into a pic. Bat prevents a young Cowpoke from making the fatal mistake of drawing on his deadly friend with his usual disarming sense of humor. I figured I might be making a pretty obscure choice here till I discovered there's a new Bat Lash series out now while researching this pic on the net. Good to see John Severin still drawing the hell out of a comic at 85 yrs old! |

| 70's Smackdown: Avengers vs. X-Men by Starchild and pijon Marvel Comics 2007/6/30 18:16 3489 9
PIJON: I know I haven't been around in a while and all the time I spent on this pic had alot to do with that. Starchild and I have been secretly plotting a 3D collaboration for some time now and this is the result. Neither of us had really seen any 3D collaborative pieces (nor 70's Neal Adams style X-Men for that matter) on any of "the sites" so we figured we'd give it a shot. I think 3D collaborations are rife with all sorts of possibilities and while I think we've barely scratched the tip of that iceberg, I'm quite happy with our results. We each picked 3 battle pairings and came up with models, poses and textures for each set and then I put it all together in Bryce. I tried using some other folks' stuff here so a shout out and thanks to Musketeer for the Cap texture, PhilH & JimM for Caps's boots and gloves and Dan Swofford for his Hawkeye figure. Thanks again, Star... it was blast, man!
STARCHILD: No thank you sir! It was a pleasure working with you. I already had a lot of respect for what you can do with Bryce but watching you put together this scene peice by peice was truly a joy. Now before everyone starts patting me on the back..I really didn't do that much although I am proud of the textures I created for Beast, Angel, Havok [Pijon created the headpeice] and the Panther. This peice was inspired by nostalgia and the cover of Avengers#53. For interested I will divulge my part in this peice. My characters were Angel vs Goliath, Beast vs Panther and Havok vs Vision. I did use stand alone figures of both Vision and Goliath [Hasdrubal] only because they were put together so well. The thought process behind each match-up was to show action and respresent battle without actually giving an advantage to either participant. I think both myself and Pijon pulled it off greatly. The most trying part of this was selecting a proper background scene and once again PIJ pulled it off with the Roman Colloseum [where else?]. In conclusion this was fun and I can't wait until the next one. Hint Hint PIJ.

| Avengers Japan by Lord Kuyohashi and pijon Marvel Comics 2007/7/2 9:09 3648 7
Pijon: I've been a fan of Lord Kuyohashi's for quite some time. I'd been impressed by his knowledge of the source material and an incredible ability to "mix it up" in terms of both subject matter and technique and his prolific output of material. When he publicly mentioned me as one of the people he wanted to collaborate with, I was more than a little surprised... I mean I knew he was always looking to try new things but with him being a 2D guy and me working 3D, I wasn't really sure that we'd ever find a middle ground which could showcase both of our styles. None the less, I was quick to agree to the collaboration as I did think it a most interesting opportunity. Actually getting to it was another matter though. Having limited time to work on art and being rather slow in my production, it took me close to a year to get to it. After Lord K asked me what I wanted to do, I'd mentioned characters of his I'd seen from a couple of previous pieces: White Cloak (an original of his) and Avengers Japan. He picked Avengers Japan and I asked him to send me some basic line drawings of the characters (with flat color if he liked) so that I could try a new technique I'd been working on of converting 2D art into 3D images. Well, Lord K quickly produced a series of great images for me to work with. On my end, things went poorly... as I'd only tried this style one previous time, I was finding it wasn't working out as I'd hoped. After several restarts and failures, I tried another collaboration and a few drawn pieces before returning to it. It went much better the second time around. So those are my excuses for making you wait so long Lord K! Anyway, I thouht his Manga/Anime influenced version of the Avengers the coolest thing (well, why do ya think i picked it?!!)! I still haven't perfected my 2D to 3D technique but I have refined it somewhat since my previous attempt. It was alot of work trying to pull this off but still, challenging and fun too. Hope you like it, Lord K!
Lord K: I have a pencil. Now I have pictures.Yay me!. *********** Clockwise from the Left: Daredevil, Wasp, Spidey, Kuma, Thor, Luke Cage, Captain Japan, Hulk, Spiderwoman

| Hero Out of Time: Caveman Wildcat pijon Monthly and other challenges 2017/5/22 8:01 3686 9
As I'd mentioned in the forum, I love this challenge but I didn't have an idea for it. I'm not sure what the ruling is here but hopefully what I did isn't a disqualifier. I recently ran across an old low rez pencil drawing pic that I'd done nearly a decade ago but hadn't posted here which seemed to fit the challenge. So I added a second character and background and and inked it. So here's Caveman Wildcat (and friend). |

| Pijon's Influence Map pijon Monthly and other challenges 2012/8/6 17:52 3700 8
Matthew M. Laskowski AKA fox-orion has created something called an Influence Map. The idea is a very simple one: you take a 1462 H x 1000 W and divide it into a grid. You then fill those grids with 3x3, 2x2, 2x1 and 1x1 tiles containing images of whatever has inspired you as an artist. Whatever you want... photos, paintings, comics, your art, someone else's art, 3D, vector, whatever... hell, if you wanna go off the grid, go nuts! I suggested this as a monthly challenge in the forums and all I hear is crickets chirping. Everybody SEZ they want challenges but do they really? I say yr all little be-yotches who won't step up! I'm openly challenging all members, mods and lurkers to step up and do one... if you think it's too hard, it's not... if you think it's too easy you'll find it's not that either. I've opened my brain and showed you what spilled out... let's see what's in your head! You can be sure I'll be doing this little exercise again in the future. *updated- fixed category |

A bird in the hand... This one's for Miss Vee. Sorry it took so long to get around to it, Vee but because it did, I wanted to do something special. It's been so long, I can't even remember the last time I tried to draw a full color scene but it's certainly the first time I attempted to do it completely digitally (no pencil and paper). I know... I should probably stick to 3D! |
