Well, it's not Halle Barry. It's an old manip with a member of Destiny's child as Storm (don't remember the name), but i thought I should submit it anyway. |

I have always wanted Iman to play Storm in the movies. And I think the original costume is still the best. This is my first photo-manip where none of the original photo is left. I completely painted over it in Photoshop. |

| Starjammer's Hepzibah - Britanny Murphy Angelophile 2003/12/4 2:30 5727 10
Done purely on a whim - when browsing through my X-men Encyclopedia I stumpled across an entry for Hepzibah - The Mephitisoid member of the Starjammers (that's alien cat-skunk person to me and you).
The 'actress' I've cast as Madame Hepzibah is Britanny Murphy (from 8 Mile amonst other things) who seemed to have the right dirty sexuality for a cat person. And the right hair. ;) |

This work is a quick one for me, roughly 8 hours over a 3 day period. I wanted to do another "dark art" piece....and this concept came to me. Originally wanted this to be Etrigan and Jason Blood....but I couldn't find a good base pic of Etrigan to work with. Enter Bruce Banner/Hulk. The giant chest wound is standard "dark Art" method. Basically took a pic of a pothole and overlayed it onto this Poser model. Did the same thing for the arm peeling effect. I textured the poser model by burning him with some natural brushes. I added some popping veins and overlayed them on the neck and hands. Hulk is from a statue i found on the Net (i can't remember the artist, Jim maybe) and some post work. The hand is from a hulk toy ad, matched it up and cut and pasted to get the hand in the right position. Added the text, as a space filler...and a little play on words. The background is from a hulk club shirt...with some rough coloring to it. Comments are welcome, as are questions on anything. Thanks for taking the time to look at this work.
Thanks to Biohaz, B, and Brick. Bruce Banner, B, Brick, Biohaz....wow...lots of "b" things. |

I saw a Ms. Marvel one another site a while ago and fell in LOVE with the manip. I decided it was time for me to try my hand at textures. This isn't anywhere near as talented as the other artists...(wish I could remember who it was! ) but it was the best I could do for now. I thought the throw back to Rogue's days of sharing her body with Ms. Marvel would be fun. |

| Spidey vs. the Lizard BillTurner 2006/1/5 15:27 4278 18
I've been working on this for a couple of months. I think it's done. I did nude poses of Spider-Man and Lizard in Poser and costumed them in Photoshop using air brushing, and Google reptile images. I found a brick section under a bridge and after a bunch of copy and paste and dodge and burn, turned it into a sewer tunnel. Look for Ant Man in the picture somewhere. There is also a cockroach. I've included a link to the full size version below. It's 3,000 pixels wide and about 3.5 mb. On that version you can make out Antman's facial expression and a reflection on the Lizard on Peter Parker's camera lens.

This was based on the first appearance of the Scorpion. The poses were created in Poser of the scene on page one os Spider-Man #20. The buildings in the foreground and background are from Bladerunner, Batman Returns and 3 or 4 others from Google. |

| Spidey vs. Sandman BillTurner 2004/8/12 21:06 3630 10
This is a poser redo of a Steve Ditko Spider-man picture that was in The Sinister Six annual. Sandman is Tom Sizemore. After smudging his face and eyes around to make him look angry he ended up looking like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I added the highlights to the hair to help the darker image show up against the black background. I scanned the Ditko picture and tried to reproduce the pose of Spider-man in poser. I got it almost perfect. I used the comic image of the Sandman and traced the outline of the pose on a transparent layer. I tried to do him in poser but it looked too much like a video game. I ended up doing him entirely with an airbrush and pen and the old dodge and burn. The logo at the top took hours. I did my own Spider-man costume and webbing. I'm getting so good at it I can do a full Spider-man in costume in about an hour and a half. I used a nude pose and I copied and pasted it on top of itself. I hued the one on the bottom red and the one on the top blue. I just cut the red parts of the costume out of the blue layer to reveal the red beneath. I did the webbing on a transparent layer with a 2 point pen tool. When I'm done I gausian blur the webbing layer .4 pixels. That is with a 600 pixel wide picture at 300 pixels per inch. I've seen the downloadable costumed poser figures but I like to do it myself. The sand was done with a tan airbrush and then I used the film grain filter set at varying degrees for effect.

| Spidey Time: My Spidey 3 Costume! effektdmentality 2007/5/7 2:26 6339 4
So for Spidey 3 I decided to make my own suit and cosplay around the theatre on opening night. I had a lot of fun as the Red Power Ranger for Halloween a few years ago, and the Symbiote suit was a lot of the same process.
At first I wanted to be Venom, but seeing as how I have a small build, I instead opted for spidey.
The suit is once agin fully constructed out of stuff I've had lying around or found at thrift stores and the like. Most if not all of it is hotglued together, as I can't sew to save my life. So from the top down, here's my process:
The mask is some lycra from when I did band in high school (night competitions in the fall get pretty cold). The lenses are peices of a white mesh hat sandwiched between two layers of 2 litre soda bottle plastic. I can see pretty well out of them, and they photograph as pretty white, so it worked out great. The webs are dimensional fabric/puff paint. Velcro on the inside edges keep it attached slightly to my shirt.
The shirt was some under-armor type stuff I found at a thrift store sports section. I was lucky enough to find one that fit my body pretty well. The webs are again fabric paint. The front spider is fabric paint as well, the back spider (not visible) is silver sharpie, since I ran out of paint =D
The gloves are formal attire gloves I found at the thrift store again. Webs are fabric paint.
The pants are exercise/biking pants, so they were formfitting too. The web belt was painted onto the pants, and the pants overlap the shirt so that the belt matches up with the webs on the shirt. From far enough it looks like one piece.
The boots are long black socks, with fabric paint webs. I plan on hot gluing sandal bottoms to the bottom of the socks to make them actual skintight boots. We'll see.
And that's that. I plan on improving it and then wearing it to Super Con in San Jose later in the summer.

| Spidey Time - New Red and Blue Wolverine1607 2007/5/18 23:25 5800 13
I used the same Model as the first one that was done. But of course there always is the Red and the Blue suit. I had to totally rebuild and do the costume from scratch. Webbing all. As well I gave it a moonlight background instead, seemed to fit better anyway. As You can see more of the details for the suit actually in this one. As far as the suit goes and detail I like this one better than the first one. Had to redo and try to give it a moonlight feel on her back as well. The webbing was done with paths and one line or curved web at a time. As well I tried a new technique for the costume texture on this, tried to match the Honeycomb feel to the suite. But take a look and let me know what you think.... always like comments. Thanks guys! |
