| DEATH . . . by KER1 KER1 2008/4/16 19:12 2543 6
Vertigo comics has a comic character called Death, it was a pretty good book back in the day . . . haven't read it recently but always thought she was pretty kool.

I just like Powergirl / Galatea. She's a lot better than that Kryptonian Supergirl. |

| Miss Marvel DAGhoul 2008/4/20 13:55 2483 2
Mary Marvel was the best, before those jerks in DC turned her into a power-lusting freak of a skank. |

I always thought she was cool (pun intended). |

This is what I did first to be honest I thought it was poison Ivy at first look so hey I figured why not. Hope you don't mind VL. |

Would you believe this is the FIRST time I've done a finished pic of a solo Green Lantern? I've done JLA group shots with GL but for some reason I had never done a solo shot. This is also the first time that I inked a whole picture in photoshop. The only thing done on paper for this one was the pencil sketch. I know there are anatomical problems but I'm really psyched with how the color turned out. |

Julia is a known accomplice of a hitman known as Antonio Rodriguez. Many speculate she may be a live-in girlfriend, but to most she is merely his right-hand girl. Does anyone recognise her? |

| Heromorph (Back) Issues II co_04 2008/5/8 12:46 4770 7
One thing I must say about MissVee's art is that she creates some of the most provocative & sexy poses for women. I would even say that they are under appreciated or at least underrated, but I always admire them. For instance, with "BG Seduced by Scarecrow" (http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum3/photo.php?lid=3974) I saw the immediate value in the work for making some new comic art. I simply took Vee's pose of Batgirl here, and plundered it for my own misuse. However, the homage is paid by digging out the masthead that was implemented previously by yours truly of A Wonder Woman-Black Cat cover (see "Heromorph [Back] Issues", http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum3/photo.php?lid=2909 ), also based on original art by MV.
The style is a throwback to the old Bronze Age comics. |

| Heromorph (Back) Issues III co_04 2008/5/8 17:54 4994 8
Another HM cover for the Vee Stories title, this is a variation on a theme from a previous manip, "Batgirl v. Joker", http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=7992. The art is stylized once again in the manner of the Bronze Age comic style (hence the 25c and no UPC). This time it's Harley Quinn rather than Joker administering the mayhem on Batgirl, using one of MissVee's very favorite recipes.
Not sure why I left off Harley's tights. |

Just a quick little marker sketch I did the other night. It's a prelim lighting test for a cover I'll be doing for Ultimate Batman #10 over at Newsarama. |

| The Heromorph Triathlon - Supergirl Alex 2008/5/20 18:10 3782 10
Third attempt, other ideas didn?t work out and this started as a sketch hence the slight roughness. Originally started out as a Hawkgirl but got pissed off at the pose so changed the pose and ended up as Supergirl. Her cape was meant to be a sort of homage to Hawkgirl but wings are hard and turned into more of a bat, found out that Cassandra is returning as Batgirl so its on my mind a lot. This is my first real attempt at hands, usually try to cover them with hair or capes but think they come out fantastically. |

| The REAL reason for Ray Palmer's disappearance . . . by KER1 KER1 2008/5/22 16:03 2648 7
I don't if anyone has been following the whole "Search for Ray Palmer" story line at DC, but I guess he's missing or something . . . I thought it would be funny if he just simply stumbled onto a mouse trap and that was THAT! I figure sooner or later someone will smell something funny and find his little corpse and alert the Justice League, heehee!

| Harley Quinn - No Innocence joshmc 2008/6/5 0:06 3467 11
Third in my illustrative series. Pure Painter IX this time, Wet Gouache and Sponge, no Photoshop this time round. This is based off another Harley Quinn design of mine, I went with a more looser style of clothing, almost pajama like, I think I'm now finally content with this Nolan-ised Harley design, I've tried several different versions, but this design is the best. This were going along well until I realised I accidentally reversed the colours, but I kept it as is coz it was gonna be too much trouble changing them around. Used an image of Kristen Bell as reference, at least 10 hours work. |

| Project 14 DAGhoul 2008/6/8 19:40 2381 2
After Superboy started gaining Superman's powers in the new Teen Titans series, a group of friends and I were pissed. We like his telekinetics powers. This is Project 14; he's a clone of Paul Westfield with all of Superboy's powers before he became a Teen Titan. |

| HM (Back) Issues IV co_04 2008/6/11 7:53 4322 12
Somehow these back issues keep turning up, vintage 1971-72 or so. I didn't know HM was even in business then, let alone had an imprint. Anyway, this is a combination of themes from Detective Comics #341, where Joker is disguised as Batman, & Harley Quinn #10, where Harley impersonates Batgirl.
Of all the Vee covers done thus far, to me this is the most convincing of that late Silver/early Bronze Age comic style.
So what other titles will turn up from the vaults--"House of VampireLover?" "Dungeons & DragonDack?" WonderWas?" "Jr Chronicles of McDeath?"

Don't know much about the character. But google did some inspiring. If anyone wants a shot at coloring it. Be my guest. Enjoy. |

OK, this is not a contest between OCP and myself. We just both happened to color the same great drawing.
It is ok to like one more than the other (I really like what OCP did) but I also like mine.
I don't know what I am talking about anymore so I will just say comments are welcome. |

| Supergirl redone Alex 2008/6/19 14:44 3503 5
I hated the bat cape too, didn?t turn out like I wanted. So here is Supergirl from my HeroMorph triathlon entry with a normal cape and inked, to the best that understand inking, hey its my first attempt at it |

Joker: Hi all, just did a fast color, not as good as my buddy jwebster would have done. However this one I had to do, its in the rough but Im ok with the results. 100% drawn and colored with a pen tablet;) I hope you all like. CHEERs. |

| Batman watercolour test ODS 2008/6/23 18:04 2862 5
Inspired by the fantastic work of Dustin Nguyen (duss005.deviantart.com), I decided to try my hand at watercolours. This is the first time I've attempted to use watercolours since I was in high school, so while the pic isn't that great, I'm still pleased with it. I didn't prepare the paper beforehand and I think it might have looked smoother if I had. I enjoyed the process, though, so I will definitely be trying more of these as time permits. |

| Airbrushed Wonder Woman joshmc 2008/6/23 21:25 4204 10
This started as a black and white tonal exercise that later got coloured. The design is based of one of my earlier WW photo manipulations but with some further tweaks. Not really a big fan of airbrushing as I like to see artistic strokes but I thought I'd try something different. Used a stock image as reference from Marcus Ranum over at Deviant Art (http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com), about 12 hours work I'd say for the black and white portion and about 90 mins or so for the colouring. |
