| Spider-Woman in Hydra's Grip Kallisti 2007/5/6 11:39 4096 8
I really liked this base pic, and instantly envisioned Hydra's leader the Viper whispering instructions into a not-so-sure Spider-Woman's ear.
Happy with the costumes and wrinkles, not so thrilled about the eyes or the mask in general.
Let me know what you think! |

| DreamSlayer VS SleepEnemy round 2: DreamQueen dreamslayer 2005/12/4 7:54 4095 12
I didnt like the costume design and coloring of this character at all, sholder pads, stupid long boots and the upper arm bands, I was really tempted to make some major changes to the costume but because of the ruls couldnt
Anyway hope you like the minor tweeks I have made. |

| Eva, upgraded matrixblur 2004/10/18 1:17 4092 8
whew, where to start. I worked on this, a little bit at a time for about 2 months. I wanted to try an integrated background, as most of the manips I do are of the "pin-up" variety. The only problem with pacing a project over a prolonged period, (say that ten times) is you tend to forget the steps you took for some of your effects. I think there might be 2 or 3 filters that I did not use on the background feature. I can say, that because of the intermittent pace, I decided to create all the "veins" using a simplified technique, that would be easy to assimilate each time. I picked a midtone periwinkle-like color, with a narrow brush and assigned a 2 pixel inner-bevel layer style. I drew the veins in and used the smudge tool to blend the ends. I have to say this project was a lot of fun, and time permitting, I'd like to do more manips with articulated backgrounds. |

| Lady Heromorph Challenge #1 - Wasp Escapes the Flytrap Wasmith 2006/12/1 17:42 4092 7
This image started out as a frank of a couple of the available base pics in the first challenge gallery. I added dragonfly wings from a photo I took myself. This is one of the Wasp's 14 million costumes.
I recall an old Atom cover years ago where he was trapped in a venus flytrap. I figured if it could happen to the Atom, it could happen to Janet. Here we see her escaping the trap.

| Sinister Six BillTurner 2004/8/12 12:38 4089 6
The background is the road from the first Batman movie after the Batplane had flown down the street. The body of Spider-man was done in poser and the costume was hand painted in photoshop. That's Ben Kinglsey as the Vulture, Oded Fehr is Kraven, Tom Sizemore is the Sandman. I added the car and the bus too. This was made to be a 1024 x 768 wallpaper |

| She Hulk VenomSoup 2004/12/22 22:13 4085 6
Another festive wallpaper for the holiday season.
In this episode, Gamma radiation treatments are outlawed by MLB! She Hulk ponders signing a 56 million dollar (4 years guaranteed) contract with the Mets, but has concerns about passing the physical.
Okay....maybe not

This was my first try using a tutorial to clothe a model. Any constructive critism besides the pic size would be great.
I can't figure out how to change the hair color. Anyone got some pointers?
Thanks everyone

Ocassionally I have to do a manip to remind you guys why I don't do them.

I didn't do too much to this at all. Model: Estelle Williams. |

Once upon a time somewhere, a warrior alled America...........Well, we know Captain America was invented during the second world war, but I wanted to make it look like he existed centurys ago. This photo from the movie Troja was perfect to make this photomanipulation. |

| Emma Frost B 2004/6/30 20:38 4046 5
Jaime Pressley as Emma Frost, caught in the middle of transforming into her diamond skin.
Face, hair and body Frankensteined together. The skin tone was all over the place, so I desaturated the piece to B&W and then recoloured everything. I did the usual stuff for the costuming. The diamond effect (which I'm really happy with) I created using a crystalline texture I made (a metallic Bryce abstract that I carved up into lots of little triangles) and a translucent mask. The light glinting off her hand I did based on a tutorial at Shiver 7 (http://www.shiver7.com/tutorials/), and the little refraction spectra were from scratch. The background (smudged Bryce, as usual) is the Xavier Institute from Grant Morrison's New X-Men.
For the logo-conscious, this was one of my first pics with a standardized logo. (I think Harley Quinn 2 was *the* first.) Yes, it's still just a handwritten B, but it's the *same* handwritten B I've used in every pic since.
I still really like this piece, though I've done better since. |

| Don't Blink psychegirl 2006/5/19 0:24 4044 11
This one I'm a wee bit iffy about, namely with the lighting, but I like how it turned out. And I tried to make it bigger than the BC/Spidey one.
I started out with an image of the lovely Ms. Avril Lavigne holding microphone and wearing a tiara. After editing them out, I stuck a piece of crystal that I found on a Google search into her hand and changed it purple. I also incorporated some Blink costume elements into the pic, such as the skirt thing and the collar to give it a "real world" feel.
Then I found the pic of the alley on google and stuck her on there, did the power effects with some brush work and some dodging and burning and...viola...Blink, AKA Clarice Ferguson. |

| Dazzler B 2007/8/23 17:09 4025 11
Hi, remember me?
My first post here in about 9 months or so... This is Dazzler in her New Excalibur costume. I wanted to do something involving power effects, and she seemed a good candidate. Body from Daz 3D, face collaged together from a variety of photos, costume and power effects from scratch.
The lighting on the face is wrong. I know this. I don't care enough to fix it. Thank you. |

| Jean Gey Project Part 2: Phenix major_paz 2005/9/3 15:19 4024 7
After Marvel Girl and the 60's, here comes Phenix of the 70's. Remenber the concept? 1) use a model of the year the comic's was drawn 2) try to make the costum look the way of the period 3) make her sexier over the years... The model is Claudia Jennings, playmate of november 69 (what a year!). |

| Magick Kallisti 2004/3/21 23:17 4018 5
Okay, so I've been working on this for a couple of days, and i don't feel like working on it anymore. Thanks to Matrixblur for giving me the link to his metal textures, unfortunately, i got the message right after completing the manip. For the metal I actually frankensteined a bunch of pics of armor i found on the web, and used the plastic wrap and chrome filters with adjustments to the brightness/contrast. I'm proud of this one, even though it needs work. Especially the boots, but hey, it's my first try at boots. Let me know what you think. |

| spiderwoman flinshady 2007/3/13 1:19 4016 18
Yet to see daylight, this manip took bloody ages and still frustrates me now it was just time to call it a day on this! I'm curious to know if ppl can work out whos face I used, my gf nicely posed for me but her face just didn't work for it, something I'm still paying for now! |

| "Hollow Man" - Generation X Angelophile 2005/1/6 0:13 4011 11
I was working on Jono as part of my ongoing Generation X photomanip (it's coming, slowly but surely), when I realised that this pic of Jono kinda worked by itself as a standalone image. So like the other manip I did of Monet, I stripped this out and set it up as its own image. Pretty pleased with the end result. His bio-nuclear psionic biokinetic field was almost as much of a bitch to manip as it is to spell. I used James Marsters as a Jono's 'actor'. |
