| World Tour in Comics: UAE OCP Other Comics 2008/11/24 6:06 3802 6
Ajaaj is the first UAE superhero and the star of the first of comic book series launched by Watani, the social development program, since August 2007. Ajaaj is a mysterious storm that can morph into a well-built young UAE man or a wall or even a bridge. He has the power to fly and solidify, as well as turn into fine dust and infiltrate tightly locked areas. He can also turn into a massive wall to stop a bullet fast train.
Ajaaj or sand storm is a superhero, which many people consider as merely a storm that originated in the UAE deserts. His stories are located in the UAE in the year 2020 and he can only be seen by two twin children, Shamma and Humaid, as a young man. For the other people including the parents of the two characters, Ajaaj is nothing but clouds of dust and is therefore completely misunderstood.

| World Tour in Comics: Philippines OCP Other Comics 2008/7/5 19:18 3940 10
Back to another character to my World Tour in comics, this time from Phillipines. I choosed to make kind of an amalgam version from a couple versions of her (past and present) that I found googling but I think it didn't came out that bad: Darna is a superheroine created by Mars Ravelo. In her more popular incarnations, she is a warrior from outer space manifesting herself through a girl from Earth, named Narda. Darna was originally known as Varga and first appeared in Bulaklak Magazine, Volume 4, #17, on July 23, 1947. Ravelo had differences with the editors of Bulaklak Magazine and Varga's name was changed to "Darna". The character was re-launched on May 13, 1950. Nestor Redondo drew the first Darna. Regardless of her many incarnations, the 1950's origin of Darna begins with a village girl named Narda who finds a small white stone, a tiny meteorite from outer space. Narda swallows the stone and shouts "Darna!" - becoming a mighty warrior ready to defend Earth from evil forces. (Thankz Wikip?dia) |

| She-Hulk OCP Marvel Comics 2008/5/5 15:34 3982 9
She-Hulk must be one of the easiest characters to manip. This is just a quickie, took me more time to find a model than to make it, about 30 min. doing the manip.
Background by Biohaz's Background Pack 1.
*update* : Fixed the gloves and upper back uniform. Thankz bhm, Hisstoryman, Android, BRaZZZil, Dryad and chowyspizz for your comments about the errors on this image. My only excuse was I was only paying attention to the colors and forget the other things. |

Heys Guys, We have extended the due date to enter this contest with your images until Feb 14/2009.
This is an example of what it should be in the image: Earth = Marble (the stone), that's the statue Wind = Flying Creature (insects are included), that's the eagle Fire = Lightning, they are on the background
Of course, the elements I used here are just an example.

| Gutsman & Tigra OCP Other Comics 2007/7/25 1:03 4008 6
Just had to do a Tigra manip from Gutsman comics. And since I had this base image waiting for something, well, it just look perfect for this. Almost everything done in Photoshop, my second try at it. Tried JrMcDeath way of cleaning the image on Gutsman face ( the base had a beard) and in Erik Kriek's ( the base was very small). I know I made some mistakes at it, and I still have a lot to learn about Photoshop, but I'm pretty happy with the end result. |

Cricket-Man (Homem-Grilo) is a brazilian superhero that was created as a parody of very well known superheroes. His adventures are also a parody to the brazilian way of like and such. A very funny online comic (if you can read the language ) : Official webpage(portuguese) - ComicSpace page (english) |

| World Tour in Comics: Russia OCP Other Comics 2007/9/2 16:25 4253 8
From Russia, here's Octobriana. Now, about this character I find more interesting the story about her real origin than the character itself. "According to the 1971 book Octobriana and the Russian Underground by Peter Sadecky, Octobriana was created in the 1960?s by a group of dissident Russian artists calling themselves Progressive Political Pornography (PPP). However it has been suggested that the story given by Sadecky was untrue and that Octobriana was, in fact, his own creation. Other sources sugest that Sadecky stole the character from two Czech artists, Bohuslav Konecny and Zdenek Burian, in creating a comic centering around the character of "Amazona." Since Octobriana is still widely thought to be the product of dissident cells within the U.S.S.R., she is not copyrighted, and has appeared in a variety of artistic incarnations around the world. ( source: Wikipedia)" I did everything in Photoshop, found a nice site with lots of cool tutorials and wanted to try some in this one. The chains, the necklace and the hair were created following that. Let me know what you think. **update** After Dragondack picture, add the bullets and the snake. |

| World Tour in Comics: U.S.A. OCP Other Comics 2007/11/22 6:54 4355 11
First, let me say the only reason why I choose this character was because she is a very obscure one. And because for U.S., well? we have lots to choose from and I?m trying to show in this series some more unknown characters. I also tried some new things in this one, like a new technique for fire, some ?frankensteining? and tried to make her uniform to look a bit like metal. About the character, her powers are from magic origin and she?s able to control and create flames. Her control is such that she can create weapons out of flame (I tried to show that with her axe). She was publish by Quality Comics, in the Smash Comics comic book. Created by Bob Turner and Jim Mooney in 1941. Oh yeah, her name is Wildfire.

I just got myself Photoshop CS4 and wanted to try new things. Still not happy with the black symbol (star?) on her chest, but I like how the blast effect came out. This was a character I've been wanting to make since I did my first manip, I hope I had made her justice.

First I want to thank CDA for his suggestion (sorry, didn't feel like doing Northguard), who lead me to this character: Fleur-de-Lys,a major supporting character in the Northguard series, also appeared on a Canadian postage stamp in 1995 as part of the Canadian Superhero Stamp Series. Created by Mark Shainblum and Gabriel Morrissette. Ok, finaly I did the Canadian character,so... |

| Jade OCP Other Comics 2008/10/12 16:53 4871 15
Jade is a 4000-year-old vampire-sorceress who has been the leader of a powerful, Shanghai crime family for over a millennia, a position she inherited from her father. For ages, it was a position she filled based upon honor. Her competitors believe "Jade" is a title given to the woman who controlled the family in each generation.
In the 20th century, she comes to believe that China has lost much of its honor and dignity. In an effort to restore honor, she is using her supernatural powers to bring all the other Triad families under her control and through them, take control of China itself. (Thankz Wikipedia )
Oh, and finally I have my computer back. |

| Girl of the Week : Aquagirl OCP DC Comics 2007/7/31 19:19 4927 10
My atempt at the girl of the week. I choose Aquagirl II (hope this is the rigth one) because Aquagirl I is like a gender bender of Aquaman, blond girl and even the costume is the same. Did everything in Photoshop, except for minor ajustments in the background that I'm not able to do in Photoshop yet... Anyway, I think I'm getting how to work with now... You'll be the judges of it. |
