wanted to try a more stylized effect for a change. took a manip I did of zealot and put her into a Bryce scene and added a .3ds dragon. Brought the compiled pic into Photoshop and played with color. Lots of color. I airbrushed the lava drool in photoshop. using levels and saturation, I got a look thats a bit more "painted" than photorealistic. could've spent more time on the finishing details, but I liked the colors, so I stopped. |

| Zakarella OCP 2008/3/11 16:03 7960 17
Zakarella is kind of the Vampirella in my Country. Had a few comics published in the 70's and was a huge hit... Even today, there's a lot of fans... Thanx to everyboby who gave some advice on this manip.
UPDATE: Following Bio's advices, I retouched this image a little on the boobs plates and also retouched the cape a bit and added a little texture filter. Hope it's better. |

| Wunder Woman Masterchief 2011/8/18 12:02 3154 4
Here is my Christina Carter morph again but this time as Wunder Woman which she also plays. The boot texture is custom made by myself and it turned out pretty well. The suit is a hodge podge of TerryMcG and Tyler McDowells sets. This is one of several images that are being made for Christina Carter. |

| World Tour in Comics: United kingdom OCP 2009/2/15 18:49 2998 7
For the Uk, I've been waiting until my skill at manips increase a bit so that I could make one of my favourite comic characters from that country. Altough on many covers, the character wears a yellow suit, on the comics he wears black, for the gadgets I decided to go more on a retro look. I also realize my choice of actor to play the Spider isn't the best, this dude is too young and with little resemblance to the character but my reason here was mostly because of the expression on the original base image that for me it's perfect for a cold vigilante.
The Spider appeared in the 26th June 1965 edition of Lion magazine created by Ted Cowan, aiming to be the new king of crime by recruiting an army of criminals. Later, he changed sides and begun to fight crime instead. The Spider isn't a super-powered hero but in many of his adventures, we learn that he has super intelect and a wide array of skills (including the ability to climb walls without apparatus, and hypnotism), a bullet-proof costume (which included a jet-pack), and a massive arsenal of gadgets. |

| World Tour in Comics: UAE OCP 2008/11/24 6:06 3942 6
Ajaaj is the first UAE superhero and the star of the first of comic book series launched by Watani, the social development program, since August 2007. Ajaaj is a mysterious storm that can morph into a well-built young UAE man or a wall or even a bridge. He has the power to fly and solidify, as well as turn into fine dust and infiltrate tightly locked areas. He can also turn into a massive wall to stop a bullet fast train.
Ajaaj or sand storm is a superhero, which many people consider as merely a storm that originated in the UAE deserts. His stories are located in the UAE in the year 2020 and he can only be seen by two twin children, Shamma and Humaid, as a young man. For the other people including the parents of the two characters, Ajaaj is nothing but clouds of dust and is therefore completely misunderstood.

| World Tour in Comics: U.S.A. OCP 2007/11/22 6:54 4480 11
First, let me say the only reason why I choose this character was because she is a very obscure one. And because for U.S., well? we have lots to choose from and I?m trying to show in this series some more unknown characters. I also tried some new things in this one, like a new technique for fire, some ?frankensteining? and tried to make her uniform to look a bit like metal. About the character, her powers are from magic origin and she?s able to control and create flames. Her control is such that she can create weapons out of flame (I tried to show that with her axe). She was publish by Quality Comics, in the Smash Comics comic book. Created by Bob Turner and Jim Mooney in 1941. Oh yeah, her name is Wildfire.

| World Tour in Comics: Sweden OCP 2007/8/29 13:06 3532 6
For Sweden, I decided to go in a different direction and instead of your regular superhero (didn?t want to do Captain Sweden) so, I present you Pippi L?ngstrump ( Pippi Longstocking ). I realize that in the original stories, Pippi Longstocking is a children's books, but I took some artistic liberty here and decided to do a kind of ?what if?? pic; just imagine her grown up and in a superhero suit. After all, she has super-strengh. Pippi Longstocking is the creation of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Pippi, the daughter of a seldom-seen pirate, has long red ponytails, piles of gold, superhuman strength and boundless mirth. Her books are among the most translated children's books in the world, and have been adapted to television, film and animation. Another attempt with filters and saturation and such in Photoshop, with this one I had very fun doing. Hope y?all like? Ps. I found the base image at Lady Heromorph?s Challenge #1 so I also like to add this one to it. ***update** Thank you, CDA. I didn't saw that.

Has been so long I don?t post anything that I almost forgot how do do it.
Anyhoo... This is a character that I never thought to make since the only info I could find was about an obscure film from 1978 and even so, without any images to use as reference. That is until a couple weeks ago when I found an article about the character WITH pics.
About the character: Quote: After being shot by thieves during a supermarket robbery, police officer Danny Ndhlomo was forced to retire due to his injury. Eventually he discovered a strange race of underground creatures who treated his wound, and a bonus transformed him into a superhuman. Deciding to continue to fight for justice and law, he became Mighty Man.
Created by Richard Manville.

| World Tour in Comics: Serbia OCP 2010/3/23 11:21 3815 6
Carol Connor, an introverted university biology student, was scratched by a cat which had been used in an experiment. Later that same evening, when she attempted to shut down an experiment in Dr. Baker's lab she was exposed to "Sigma radiation." As a result, Carol found she had developed a cat's agility and claw-like fingernails. She was also superhumanly strong and could see in the dark almost as well as during the day.
Co-created by Serbian artist Branislav Kerac and writer Svetozar Obradović.
Kerac stated in a 1991 interview: "I tried to imagine what the wet dream of every male pig would look like, and Cat Claw was the answer."

| World Tour in Comics: Russia OCP 2007/9/2 16:25 4421 8
From Russia, here's Octobriana. Now, about this character I find more interesting the story about her real origin than the character itself. "According to the 1971 book Octobriana and the Russian Underground by Peter Sadecky, Octobriana was created in the 1960?s by a group of dissident Russian artists calling themselves Progressive Political Pornography (PPP). However it has been suggested that the story given by Sadecky was untrue and that Octobriana was, in fact, his own creation. Other sources sugest that Sadecky stole the character from two Czech artists, Bohuslav Konecny and Zdenek Burian, in creating a comic centering around the character of "Amazona." Since Octobriana is still widely thought to be the product of dissident cells within the U.S.S.R., she is not copyrighted, and has appeared in a variety of artistic incarnations around the world. ( source: Wikipedia)" I did everything in Photoshop, found a nice site with lots of cool tutorials and wanted to try some in this one. The chains, the necklace and the hair were created following that. Let me know what you think. **update** After Dragondack picture, add the bullets and the snake. |

| World Tour in Comics: Philippines OCP 2008/7/5 19:18 4037 10
Back to another character to my World Tour in comics, this time from Phillipines. I choosed to make kind of an amalgam version from a couple versions of her (past and present) that I found googling but I think it didn't came out that bad: Darna is a superheroine created by Mars Ravelo. In her more popular incarnations, she is a warrior from outer space manifesting herself through a girl from Earth, named Narda. Darna was originally known as Varga and first appeared in Bulaklak Magazine, Volume 4, #17, on July 23, 1947. Ravelo had differences with the editors of Bulaklak Magazine and Varga's name was changed to "Darna". The character was re-launched on May 13, 1950. Nestor Redondo drew the first Darna. Regardless of her many incarnations, the 1950's origin of Darna begins with a village girl named Narda who finds a small white stone, a tiny meteorite from outer space. Narda swallows the stone and shouts "Darna!" - becoming a mighty warrior ready to defend Earth from evil forces. (Thankz Wikip?dia) |

"You're born, you live, and you die. That's the way it should be, right? But what do you do if you can't die? What if you find out that you're not quite as human as you thought that you were? For Scar, it's not a philosophical question - it's her life. But once she discovers the Gyrath's Gates, she finds a way to finally discover who she is, and what Fate intends for her to do..."
That's the preview of the number 0 of the Gyrath's Gate Scar, introducing the character Scar from New Zealand created by V.L. Dreyer and published by Blue Scar Productions.
Can't say I know much about this character, just found it on a random search on the web, but I like what I read about it so far... |

| World Tour in Comics: Mexico OCP 2007/7/15 18:57 3576 8
From Mexico I choose not to go to your average superhero, instead here it is CerDotado (something like SuperPig or Gifted Pig) created by Polo Jasse. From what I could find he's kinda a pig with superpowers and an anti-hero atitude. Like I said, not your average SuperHero.
*update* : just found a tutorial on how to clean over pixilated images and since I was not happy with the cape as well, though this pic was a good one to give it a try. |

| World Tour in Comics: Japan OCP 2009/1/26 18:27 3072 5
And I'm back to my World Tour serie, this time with 8 Man, the first cyborg character created in 1963 by Kazumasa Hirai and Jiro Kuwata from Japan. Already with a live action movie and a couple animated series, the Wikipedia says this character was the inspiration for the movie Robocop due to the similarities in both origins. |

| World Tour in Comics: Italy OCP 2007/8/11 7:15 2978 5
Introducing from Italy: Magico Vento (Magic Wind), created by Gianfranco Manfredi, and published by Bonneli Comics, this one was very fun to do because I?m a big fan of this character since his creation in 1997. This character was inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis in the Last of the Mohicans so I choose a base pic from a movie poster of that movie. Also tried some new things in Photoshop and I like how it came out. Hope you like it. Bio of this character in the first post.

| World Tour in Comics: Israel v2.0 Oz2y 2019/6/28 13:30 2193 3
Almost in the beginning of my World Tour in Comics, I made this character for Israel: Never really liked how it came out. Mostly due to my own fault, just a few weeks after started doing manips... But the fact remain that I really don't like many of my early images... and this one was no exception!
No matter, not that I'm good this days but I like to think that I improved a tiny bit since those early days.
Lately I've been republishing my World Tour in Comics at my new blog and thought, why not redo some of the ones I don't like?
So... Here is again, presenting for Israel: Uri-On (apparently, it writes both ways: Uri-On and Uri Oan), created by Michael Netzer.
From my old post: Quote: He was a former soldier given superpowers by a secret agency to defend Earth against an alien race. His bracelets has the control panel to a lot of different powers and they can also fire energy bolts. The symbol on his chest represents a Jewish temple lamp (thank you internationalhero site).

| World Tour in Comics: Holland OCP 2007/7/15 8:06 2884 4
From Holland, here it is Gutsman, the masked defender of male inadequacy (words from his creator in his website), created by Erik Kriek. First time I try to make a suit all in black and white colors, so any tips on how to improve will be very welcome. Wanted to add his sidekick/lover Tigra as well, but didn't look good for this background from the country. Maybe in the future will do it with a diferent background... |

| World Tour in Comics: Greece OCP 2010/3/9 18:09 2675 3
From Greece, I bring you Mythos the Arcadian (Μύθος ο Αρκάδιος), a hero probably inspired by Conan the Barbarian and sharing some traits with him, namely the fighting, climbing and leadership abilities. But Mythos permanently wears some mysterious metal bracers of which the left one can radiate a transparent magical shield on the wearer's command and unlike Conan, it's implied in his adventures that he has either divine origins or is a servant to greater, divine or mythological powers.
Created and drawn by Kostas Frangiadakis. |

| World Tour in Comics: Germany OCP 2007/8/9 15:59 3491 6
From Germany introducing Wanda Caramba. Created by Eckart Breitschuh, the only thing I can say about this charather is that she seems to be a bad girl with a lust for danger and sex. Couldn't find out any bio in english and german is not one of the languages I speak well, so if anyone know anything about her, I appreciate the info. |

Here's Jalila, a female scientist who at the age of 16 survived an explosion at the Dimodona nuclear plant and gained super-powers from the radiation. She protects the City of All Faiths from the warring Zios Army and the United Liberation Force (Thanx Wikipedia) , created by Dr. Ayman Kandeel and art by R.V. Valdez. Publish by AK comics, these characters are created by Egyptian writers but most of the art is from the Brazilian 'PopArt Comics Studio'. This image was my real first try at Photoshop, starded in PSP9 and finish with Photoshop. Any tips how to improve are welcome . |

Student Arno Olsen, fed up with the world's corrupt and political ways, decides to become a superhero to save mankind. He has an "accident" involving a potion in his school laboratory, granting him super powers. He is then given a superhero license by the superhero license office in Copenhagen, and begins to fight crime as Dukse Drengen His main enemy is the money worshipping Count Scroogeness. I tried to find out who created this charater but the only thing I could find was that his debut was on a parody TV show before gaining his own comic from the danish Cool Comics. Yakro, the lizard man . Coming from a civilization of great technological and social advance, in a distant nebula, whose damaged ship falls in the planet Earth, in pre-historical times and must deal with the earthlings who just start their presence in this planet. Yakro was a creation of Orestes Su?rez Lemus and began his life by 1990, in the comic magazine Pablo, and was one of the few Cuban comic charaters for adults that I could find. Heck, even find this one was a surprise to me? And if you?re wondering, the background is from a farm in Cuba. |

| World Tour in Comics: Croatia OCP 2007/9/13 15:42 3460 9
Mister Mačak is a black-and-white Croatian comic drawn by Robert Solanović and written by Darko Macan and Tihomir Tikulin - Tico. Mister Mačak means Mister Cat in Croatian, but it's translated as Mister Meow. Two albums are published.
Mister Mačak: Parody of Batman. His real name is Miroslav. Everything he possesses has mister or mačak in its name (Telemačak, mačkofon, Mistermobil...). He has a small black aircraft (Mistermobil) and lots of friends who usually need his help.
I really don't like this background for this "hero", but I'm trying to use one image from each country. |
