With some help here from seeing Chillyplasma's great Wonder Woman works last week. It got me inspired to finish one of my own. I've had the base image for a while on this one. Just have been busy with work items and all, so I decided to finish her up. So I guess in a sense ChillyP this one's for you here since you reminded me how much I like to do a good photomanip and its a break from work things. :) And who doesn't love a good Wonder Woman anyay? Thanks here in advance to those who look, and comment. They are always greatly appreicated.
The model used for this one was Alice Goodwin, I think she just has the perfect "look" for her. Wonder Woman character of course belongs to DC Comics, and artwork is me. |

After coming across this site a while ago, I decided to challenge myself to a photo manipulation challenge of Wonder Woman. I went for a more realistic approach to the outfit, a suit she would wear in battle and one that shows off her Greek heritage, I was thinking more of what they could make if and when they make the movie.
UPDATE - JUNE 2007: After my last 2 pieces had come up so well I had to revisit this and change it dramatically. Almost a complete reworking top to bottom. I remember Joss Whendon jokingly wanting Cobie Smulders in the role when he was doing the film, so I figured I change the model to her I did quite a bit of research in Greek armor to get this looking right. I tried to strike a balance between the traditional Wonder Woman costume and ancient Greek armor. The result is a lot better then the original to which I am much happier. |

I hate to repost and lose the vote of 10 (my first one too I think), but I want to make sure folks can see the picture. I hope no one minds.
Tera Patrick is the model I believe, and although not a primary choice for the superheroine, I couldn't resist doing a closeup manip of her.
You can find the larger version at my site which is accessible through the Partners link on the left. Be sure to click on the Characters, Ink. banner. Thanks! |

I saw Barbie Griffin in the cookie jar and it caused me to search the interwebs for any pics I could find. Found this one and it just screamed Wonder Woman to me. Of course I had to change her from blonde to brunette, but that was a minor problem. The biggest pain was her boots. They look alright to me, but let me know what you guys think.
Also, for a fourth manip I think I'm progressing nicely. |

I've been working on creating gold and silver. So naturally, I knew this is the hero to work on. |

I thought the Red, White and Blue Wonder Woman was too American for the Greek Goddess... So, I made the top toga-ish and limited the star to her tiara, changed the color to dirtywhite-gray... Not my favorite character, I mainly did her for the metal effects tutorials... |

An edgier, sexier WW for the times. Always said I would never do a Wonder Woman manip; there are too many out there already, but I came across this costume and thought it should be represented. I frankensteined this one quite a bit, because I already had the exact pose I wanted in mind. What took the longest time to do, was to find the perfect face and hair. Took me a couple days to find the right celeb face. Can you tell who it is? |

| WONDER WOMAN Hisstoryman 2008/6/22 21:33 3206 4
My first try at the Amazon princess herself. Not too shabby. She stands on Mount Olympus with the gods looking on her with approval.
Notes: This is one of the few times I have ever "Frankensteined" the model. I tried to stick to my unwritten rule that my heroes, and especially during this Wonder Woman kick I am on, that the model must be of the specific ethnic origin I am trying to represent. So, in this case at least some part of the model had to be Greek.
The choice of head was from Greek supermodel Evi Adam; and the body is adult film star Laura Lion. The original pics will be uploaded to the Cookie Jar.
The uniform is, for better or for worse, fully hand drawn. The only exception is for the stars on her bottom and the one in the tiara.
Behind her are the heads of the Greek Gods, taken from the film Clash of the Titans. |

| WONDER WOMAN & GIGANTA JustinBLong2003 2004/2/24 14:51 24645 15
I was trying to do a piece that told a story instead of a pin up. I know that it's not the greats picture reference, but i tried. What I work on first was Giganta. I increased her chest size to make her look bigger. Then I tried to lighten the areas that were further away from her. Then I changed the swimsuit on her to make it look like Giganta costume. It still looks like a bra. Then I put her into this city picture witch was not the best. I tried to make her bigger then the buildings, but she still looks like I just cut and pase it in. Then I put some rubble next to the buildings to make it look that Giganta is stomping through the city. Then I added smoke to the rubble. Then came in Wonder Woman. I added stars to her panties, scan in Alex Ross painting of Wonder Woman belt, then change her skin to the red part of here outfit. I added some one else hair to the body and tried to match the lighting to the sceen. Then I distorted her body to make it widder on the bottom then the top. I did not add the lasso because I though it would be a distraction. If this was a real picture, Wonder Woman would probably be blured, but I wanted to keep her in focus so that you can ejoy it. Over all I give a 7. |

I took a shot at a variant costume shown on the cover of Issue 20 of the latest series. Model is Ali Larter (I think). |

| Wonder Woman - new costume Android 2004/8/15 12:58 5749 10
1. Source: Adriana Sklenarikova from http://www.babefocus.com/viewgallery.php?celebid=8 Are you old enough to drive? No? Then you do not have permission to visit this site.
2. Commenting image: Our favorite princess starting a rescue mission to save some poor soul from the domain of Hades. Well... I don't think she should do that.
3. Making of: Step 01: the original Adriana's image had no legs and hands. It was a hard mission. Step 02: resizing head. The head was too big (visit the above site). I HAD to "fix" it. Step 03: the costume. This was the major problem. I made my best on making a "movie" costume but I am not an ancient costume researcher (I don't know if I wrote it right). I believe that an isolated civilization is condemned to evolve very slowly (as its fashion) but there is an enormous difference between what I think and what I can do. Step 04: background. A lot of cave images mixed together.
P.S.: Did you notice that Diana's comic book costume has nothing in common to an ancient greek culture? I believe this would have to be revisited. One more thing: I do not endorse the idea of having this woman in the Wonder Woman's role. I simply liked her pose in the original photo. |

| Wonder Woman - Rain Retry Wolverine1607 2007/9/23 13:20 6133 14
Anyway the other post can be deleted off here. This one should work fine. I won't acidentally kick the switch under my desk and lose all connections this time. But I started this about three months ago here at my work. So during my hour of lunch I would add details and work on this here or there. I have stuff I am working on at home, but I can't bring it here, so I started this one instead. Plus I can dedicate a lot more time at home to stuff than here. But the Model is Marta from PhotoDrumm. She was already wet... he he he. Anyway. I wanted a rainy background. Found this one floating around plus it seemed to go well with her colors scheme of her body. I added all the Rain into the picture. I also added the rain hitting the body, and since clothing and body will get wet and saturated, metal first beads up when it rains, I tried adding beads in places as well to match the image. Didn't come out totally like I wanted it to. But its close enough. I am happy with the results. Take a look guys and let me know what ya think. Like comments as always. Thanks so much. |

Well another Wonder Woman image. And why not practice makes perfect. Just as well cleaning up some old stuff I have hanging out there. My favorite model still I think for WW, which is Alice Goodwin. WW belongs of course to DC. Artwork is mine. And as always thanks for taking a look! |

| Wonder Woman 2 dreamslayer 2005/11/21 11:18 7107 33
I've been meaning to do another WW minip ever since I looked through my work and saw my first attempt at her. The costume was inspired by one of George Prez's WW covers, she's dressed in greek battle armour holding a spear and shield.
Anyway I hope you all liked the "teaser". |
