I have every one of the old Marvel Star Wars comics. It was the only way to get a SW fix at the time.
Leia was always drawn sexier than she was portrayed in the films, so this pic follows that style. |

So I actually feel like posting one of my drawings here. It's probably the only one I'll post. But here's what I wrote about it on Deviant.

I've been seeing lots of artists do a gray background under their lines, and then shade them. I've always thought this was cool but never got to trying it.
I love Jean Grey (The Phoenix) she's my favorite comic book character of all time. So I wanted to test the gray shading with her. I've had this picture of Angelica Bridges that reminds me of Jean. So I used that as a reference. There is a lot more here than the original pose that Angelica is doing. It really took a life of it's own. I'm going to try out the color masking thing with this tomorrow. It's late now.
But let me know what you think. I personally think my art is getting a more professional look to it. That's often my goal. Don't worry I love to improve and try new stuff so I'm not saying I'm done learning. I'm saying it is getting to what I think I want my art to look like professionally.
Anyway, this is a big fav for me. Can't wait to do more.
The eyes remind me of my hero and one of my favorite artists character eyes (AH!) that makes me want to jump up and down with joy. He's so cool, but It's still my style. Which I'm not really sure what that looks like. lol

Didn't sleep last night. This is what I did instead.
Thought it was cool, the body is Agelicia Bridges, I don't know who the face is, the background is from Batman: The dark Knight, the fire is from a forest fire image. The rest is painted.

| I drew the image 10 years ago, added the color a year or so after that for online use, and touched it up a few months later. Voila--my first digital image, and inspiration behind the "A Light in the Shadows" Phoenix ten years later. |

Wooohoo, I still remember how to draw. It's not the worlds most ambitious picture, but I think it came out nice looking.
I drew this as part of a prize for an on-line contest I held on an Avengers message board. I simply didn't have the time to ink it, but I think the pencil version looks good. I wish I hadn't run out of paper, I would have liked to have put more work into the phoenix behind phoenix. |
