| I thought about doing another Ice, perhaps a Golden Glider but I thought I would try my hand at a gender-bender manip and the base photo was way too hard to pass up. Obviously Captain Cold was chosen and instead of going with the traditional costume, I simply made one of my own. Hardly ornate or complex, but one I am extremely pleased with all around. |

| ok so for mary marvel i decided to take sort of a black adam approach, partly because i couldn't really decide on a modified costume i liked, and more because, well, black adam doesn't wear a cape and i didn't feel like doing one. so there. so here's Black Eve, or Mary Marvel if she wasn't much of a good guy. i just made a costume switch here, because this base model really captures a bit of brattiness that i've always associated with the young ms. mary for some reason. part four in an ongoing series. enjoy! comments appreciated. |

In issue number three I put Powergirl up against another relatively obscure villain, Knockout.
I've went back to Charile O'Neale for the face on this one. The arrogance in her expressions is perfect for Powergirl. For Knockout I used Tiffany Taylor.

This pic was an exercise in spandex, inspired by the spandex queen MisVee.
Body by DAZ, some elements of real spandex franked, some flat grey layers with film-grain added and selectively erased, dodge, burn and paint....
(damnit... she made it look easy!)
I have a lot to learn so rest assured, next time I see a woman in spandex I will study her very closely. |

Batboy99 asked me to do a manip of singer Alexz Johnson as Batgirl. Here's my effort, in a costume based on the animated version.
I decided to do this with the cowl off. No point using a hot babe like Alexz and covering up her face. With a cowl. And yes I could have drawn a cowl if I wanted to. So there.

I thought I posted it here but I didn't. The model is from PB, I can get her name here later. I tried some different metal techniques. | Well this is a manip I have been working on of Kristiana Locken as Supergirl (the actual photomanip isn't finished but I wanted to try something different with what I have done so far.) The original pic of Kristiana was of a magazine cover and she is wearing a purple swimsuit. I manipped on the costume (will provide details when I post the actual finished manip) and then have been trying to tweak it for the past week or so. Anyways I wanted to submit something new and I thought I might try giving it a sketchy look. I have tried this before with various levels of success and failure but I think this one turned out ok. I merged all the layers in my WIP together to get Kristiana in costume cut out on a layer of her own then I found a nice background at eldargraphics.com which matched the lighting and coloring of kristiana quite well. flipped the background to match pose and merged both layers together. duplicated the layer. On one layer I added some random white noise and then used my trusty old penpartner tablet and began to 'scratch' away at the picture to give the impression of pencil strokes. The other layer I used the edge preserving smooth at max and then enhanced edges and finally traced contours to give 'layout' lines and add some definition back to some of the shapes. all in all I think it came out quite well.. and now back to the manip itself. |
