We haven?t had a Supergirl in? oh? I?d say about two weeks so I guess we are due. Here is free spirited Kara having fun with her power of flight.
I would like to thank Android for the base image and also for his inspirational versions of Supergirl.
The background for this image, similar to the one used in Angel of Light, was painted in Photoshop.

Had not done this character yet and thought that this picture would make a good jade. You can find the base in the models submission section. Also it has been used before to make 2 different versions of wonder woman. |

Finished this one up today. Couldn't put it in Marvel or DC because it's both.
There are several discussions out there about a Wonder Woman/Ms. Marvel battle. I honestly don't know which would win. |

Over at C2F, they had a challenge to do a manip in one hour. You had to include time for base model searching and any other prep work in your one hour time limit. For the full rules of this challenge you can find it here ( http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum7/HTML/003168.html ). I thought that it was an interesting Idea so I took part. Normally, I work pretty fast but this one really had me rushed. I did this on thurdays evening just after diner. Here is a breakdown of how I spent my time. 6:20 started 6:21 had base picture & opened it in photoshop 6:35 Finished making skirt from scratch using dodge and burn on a solid colour. 6:38 Finished cleaning mess on hands and arms from skirt I made. 6:45 finished making blue shirt 6:50 finished internet search for "s" symbol 6:55 cut and pasted "s" symbol onto shirt 7:00 added in some details, drop shadows and a couple of wrinkle. 7:15 finished cape 7:17 clean up from cape. 7:18 added my "W" logo 7:19 croped picture and re-sized 7:20 saved optimized for web I was really surprised on what I could do in a single hour. It was fun. Some of you guys might want to try it, it was a good training exercise if nothing else. |

More from the secret police files from the Gotham City Police Dept. Batgirl takes a nosedive. Find out who the culprit is and win a prize from MissVee...at least, I think that's how it works.

An edgier, sexier WW for the times. Always said I would never do a Wonder Woman manip; there are too many out there already, but I came across this costume and thought it should be represented. I frankensteined this one quite a bit, because I already had the exact pose I wanted in mind. What took the longest time to do, was to find the perfect face and hair. Took me a couple days to find the right celeb face. Can you tell who it is? |

this is the darkest pic i've done so far, and i'm not just referring to the lighting. so she's captured, her would-be killer is waiting but that look in her eye makes me think he's just where she wants him.

Yes, I've finally done a Supergirl manip. Pray for my soul. This was for a Cheesecake theme day at C2F (mmm, cheesecake...)
This is WWE diva Torrie Wilson as Linda Danvers, aka Peter David's version of Supergirl. I decided specifically to do this version of the character because (a) I'm a huge fan of PAD's work on her and (b) I cordially dislike the new version of Kara Zor-El and have some serious issues with her character and the writing in her series.
A side benefit of doing Linda is that it allows me to use a somewhat older model than I could for the teenaged Supergirl... but I'm still not a huge fan of the casting here. Ah, well.
Costuming from scratch, ditto the rooftop she's standing, the background is a photo of New York with some alterations. The sky and easter egg I made in 3D in Bryce.
Enjoy! |

Enough of my own viral marketing, here it is! I said I'd never do another Batgirl, but that damn Chris Nolan had to go a head and change the suit design for the sequel so I figured I might as well follow suit. Basically, the only reference I used, indeed the only reference I had for a long time was the profile shot of the new outfit release a few months back. It was all pretty much guess work and when those leaked pics got out on the net a few weeks ago, I was finally able to tweak the design even further. This is the most complex thing I've ever created, something like 300 layers were used, lots of custom pieces, countless hours in my spare time. Anne Hathaway suited the role before, so there's was no point changing that, just used a slightly different image. The result is 1000 times better than the original Batgirl I did before, infact it pains me to look at that one. The Dark Knightess has arrived! |

Been wanting to do a Batgirl image for a while now. Tried some new things here. So I guess this falls somewhere in between for me. I painted all the hair into this one. Not totally satisfied with it exactly but it does the trick. I did try a new technique with the cape in the background though. Same way you would render and create a curtain from scratch in photoshop, just with quite a few pieces. What do you think? As well I chose the newer uniform style to go with as well. I do like the newer look quite a bit here than most. Took some liberties of course with the outfit, but tried to stay close. Been working on trying to re-create items better as I need them. So not sure on this one, but I am still satisfied with it. Thanks for all the comments and or critiques if you leave them, they are very much apprecaited. May be a few before I get to work on another image here, have a busy next six to eight months or so with work coming up, but wanted to get one more in. The model for this one was a 3D model from Pozer and Daz combo, found for a general search on the internet, under google for such. As well Batgirl belongs to DC of course. Artwork is my attempt here. |

My take on Robin. In my sort of Elseworlds version, Batgirl becomes deeply distraught after her lover, Robin the Boy Wonder, is killed by Catwoman. After a period of mourning, she modifies her costume, and her mission, and becomes Robin, Woman of Wonder! |

Shazam! Here is another in this series. For Mary Marvel I made some changes to the costume, most notably the boot length and skirt length. I changed the colour of her cape from white to a darker red and made the whole suit out of a more PVC type material. All of these changes were done in an attempt to make her a bit more sexy looking. That seems to be the theme that I am carrying over in this set of covers both visually and in attitude.
Enjoy!

I've been meaning to do another WW minip ever since I looked through my work and saw my first attempt at her. The costume was inspired by one of George Prez's WW covers, she's dressed in greek battle armour holding a spear and shield.
Anyway I hope you all liked the "teaser". |

This is defiantly the most labor intensive piece I have ever done. By the end I had to get rid of a few elements because it became too difficult to figure out what was going on. I also had a few more super heroines that I wanted to add but space became an issue. Some are in there but you can????????t even see them because they obscured by other. I could tool with this thing forever, but at some point you just have to say ???????enough????????.
The story behind this image:
???????Basically an alien android fleet appears in Earth????????s orbit. Deciding that this planet is a suitable target to conquer, they quickly surmise that human males are the dominant of the species. To subdue these opponents they bombard Earth with a nullifying beam, rendering all males powerless. Confident that Earth is now an easy target they deploy the troops. But it seems that their mission isn????????t going to be as easy as they thought??????????????
Enjoy!

This was my first (what I would consider) decent attempt at a complete manip starting with a nude base. I liked the evil supergirl outfit from the latest issues and decided to go with it. Hoepfully I have some time to make some other versions using different bases as well. I'm sure I can make some improvements, so any constructive suggestions are appreciated. |
