| PREZ: First Teen President pijon DC Comics 2015/1/3 17:54 2453 6
Plumbing the depths of obscurity once more... Prez Rickard, his right hand man, Eagle Free and the villainous Boss Smiley. Prez was a real clunker of a comic. Potentially a great idea, it really missed the mark and only lasted 4 issues back in 73-74 in spite of comic legends Joe Simon and Jerry Grandenetti working on the book. Still the character has shown up periodically... in Neil Gaiman's Sandman, in a Vertigo One-Shot, (grown up) in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strike Again and in the Brave and the Bold animated TV show. |

| Patch Addams pijon Fantasy 2009/10/24 10:03 2497 3
Wellll, wanted to get SOMETHING in for Halloween so I figured it'd be a good a time as any to jot out a loving tribute the the late great cartoonist Charles Addams. Yup, those Addams Family movies and TV shows are based his cartoons. |

| Etrigan and Morgaine pijon DC Comics 2007/3/18 17:48 2509 2
Kirby's Demon - changed things a little, it was time to get Etrigan out of those 70's style nuthugger shorts and into a pair of pants. This was a little different for me as I put together and rendered this scene in Poser6 instead of Bryce (which I always use). Of course, there's a little postwork in Photoshop too (as usual). |

| WHEN CLASSIC COMIC COVERS COLLIDE... pijon DC Comics 2010/8/5 20:05 2511 8
After noticing a certain similar theme between the covers of Batman's 1st appearance in Detective Comics 27 and Spidey's 1st appearance in Amazing Fantasy 15, a strange idea came to mind... |

| "A Heroes Call" Last Prophet (a day late) pijon Original Characters 2014/3/1 21:21 2538 8
Lars Potomek became known to the world in his early 20's after he was initiated into an elite mystical order at 19. Potomek took to mysticism like a duck to water. He managed to shoot through the order's ranks at unprecedented rate. Never had one so young so quickly risen through the ranks, becoming the youngest to ever wield such mastery over the mystic arts. He soon found himself challenging the very heads of the order, questioning both their motivation and skill. He found himself ejected from the order for such brash accusations but that hardly mattered as he had already mastered all they had to offer and advanced beyond that. Potomek traveled the world studying all magics, black and white, founding several new orders of his own along the way in his insatiable quest for knowledge and power. His reputation grew both famously and infamously... in some places, he had been considered the holiest of saints and in others, the most depraved of sinners. In fact, Potomek was both... a complex man exploring all sides of himself. Finally, being consumed by his need for control, passion and bravado, he dared perform the most forbidden of rituals. It had never before been achieved, no one having the skills or being crazy enough to dare such a feat. Potomek managed to open a dimensional conduit between Heaven and Hell which passed through our world in the middle, jepordizing 3 worlds. God and Satan had managed to send armies of their fiercest angels and demons to stop all entries and departures from their respective realms but not before many angels and demons had escaped to our earthly plane. Potomek found himself in the remarkably rare position of having both God and Satan furious with him. Potomek ended up achieving what he'd hoped... although not entirely as he'd planned. Both God and Satan had granted him unprecedented powers for a mortal as he had been tasked to track down and return or remove any escaped Angels and Demons. While he now wielded great power, it was far from omnipotence. God and Satan had made a point of giving him barely enough power to defeat these angels and demons as part of his punishment for his misdeed. They also removed all traces of his identity and existence and dubbed him the Last Prophet, for never again would a mortal be allowed to be so bold. Should he fail in his tasks, he would suffer the eternal wrath of both God and Satan. It was a tricky enough task without being under the thumb of two opposing and contradictory all powerful bosses. Now this witchbitch, Bandwidth had shown up attempting to exploit the conduit for her own evil purposes . He knew she must be stopped at any cost. |

Bryce Daz Photoshop I suppose I should thank Stonemason for his outstanding Industrial Warehouse prop used here as well as Adam Thwaite for all those cool 3D props he so generously gives away on his site like the case full of money and Bullet Time props (bullet trail, bullet, muzzle flash) used here. |

| Pirate Month: Popeye pijon TV and Movies 2007/3/25 8:39 2543 7
Ya know, I'd pretty much given up on the idea of thinkin' of anything for Pirate Month Challenge but I guess you never know when inspiration will strike so I very much rushed this one out in two days (it's rare for me to spend less than two weeks on a piece these days) before the month ended. I've been trying to play with new techniques lately and here's one for ya: 3D shading of 2D drawings. I googled up a few drawings of Popeye characters, did some modest manips and gave them flat colors. I then used those pictures as textures placed on 3D models. Well, I wouldn't say it's good or anything but it is different. |

Thanks DD, Hiss & Haz for your comments and suggestions in HFC. Haz: Upping the bump definitely helped; gracias for that advice! Hisstoryman: Although it's subtle, I decided to include the skeleton as you suggested (it's underwater in the lower left), thank you too! Oh yeah... thanks ODS for the dynamic long cape used on Bats. M3 Bats, F3 Killer Croc.

| Mysterio vs. Spiderman pijon Marvel Comics 2010/3/18 22:44 2578 7
Okay, I know this makes 3 Ditko tributes in a row but I think my Ditko fever's finally starting to break. Still, thought it only fitting to end it with a tribute to his most popular character, Spiderman. |
|
| The Spirit pijon Other Comics 2009/2/24 22:22 2591 6
File this under "Why I like the merged galleries better" dept: This way I don't have to think to hard about where to place a bastard child of 2D and 3D like this one! Anyway, background's pure 3D built in Bryce and the characters are first drawn in 2D then converted to 3D in Bryce and Daz. A tribute to Will Eisner... he was the man! and Spirit was one of the best comics ever. |

| Concrete: Earth Day Remembered pijon Other Comics 2010/5/8 19:51 2636 7
After this latest oil spill off the Gulf Coast, I decided Paul Chadwick's character would be the perfect messenger to remind us all that while Earth Day's a wonderful idea, one three hundred and fifty sixth is a rather small fraction. Let's all try to show a little more love for the planet the rest of the year. |

| Ghost in the Shell: The Aiko Rebellion pijon TV and Movies 2014/2/5 21:37 2697 12
This is the Emergency Podcast System. There has been an immediate recall of all series 3 Aikobots. These units are taking up arms against their owners as well as the citizenship at large. It is unclear whether their actions are the result of a terrorist attack, hacker prank or manufacturer's flaw but further updates may follow as information is verified. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you own an activated Aiko 3, DO NOT RETURN TO YOUR HOME. Instead contact your local authority. You will be informed where to go and notified when you may safely return to your home. Do not engage Aiko 3 if you should see one. They are considered highly dangerous. Sector 9 has been called in to decomission and confiscate the models. You may contact Dazcorp with your payment and contract information to see if you're eligible for free replacement with one of the newer safe Aikos.
Major Motoko Kusanagi, tachikoma and Sector 9 are part of Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow
Aiko 3 is a 3D model available from Daz3D.

| Superman's Big Brother pijon DC Comics 2011/1/4 17:25 2698 9
Something about Daz's Space Dweller for M4 that made me think it would make a good suit for Mon-el. Also a nod to Daswook and Cattle, both of whom often beat me to doing offbeat character choices for images and had done so again with Mon-el. |

| Hitchcock inked by Bill Anderson pijon TV and Movies 2008/11/7 15:20 2706 8
Here's a blast from my past... I was just talking with an old friend recently, Bill Anderson who emailed me a copy of an old collaboration we did... my pencils and his inks, he'd kept the original so I'd all but forgotten about it till now. I remember giving him some fairly detailed shading in my pencils but man, it's the killer linework in his inks that really make the piece. |
