Every once in awhile someone puts up a piece of art that I say "Man I just GOTTA ink that"! . . . When I saw Vampire lover's piece with Spider-woman and Firestar, I thought it was very kool and I wanted to do something with it . . . so I tweeked it a bit with my inking style and then had some fun coloring it up!

I was gonna spread this as an April Fools gag but chickened out, had an elaborate plan to collaborate with several comic and film websites in orchestrating the hoax stating it was a leaked still from The Dark Knight, but the fear of an internet backlash persuaded me otherwise (would have been hilarious though).  |

| Just finished reading a pretty good Wonder Woman novel and along with that and Cathryn being such a big fan of her too I wanted to do a shot of her. I still don't like the 'uniform' she wears so I designed one myself. I can't figure out if I like this picture or not. I like aspects of it and dislike others. Its hard to see past the flaws that I know are there. |

I'm proud to say I took part in a fan project called Transformers Mosaic. These are one page stories done by fans for fans and is officially recognized by Hasbro and IDW. The art on this piece is mine. The story is by Allison Mulattieri.
This is also the first time I worked from someone else's script.

Kimiyo Hoshi was the supervising astronomer at an observatory in Japan, overseeing a group of male astronomers charting the unnatural effects of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. (She is also a medical doctor, as shown in Justice League Annual #3 (1989) and Justice League America #55 (October 1991).)
Disgusted by the men's fear of the approaching antimatter cloud, she arrogantly tells them all off (including her own father), and orders them to leave, so she can study the phenomenon alone through her telescope.
Meanwhile, the Monitor, a being linked with all positive matter, senses his enemy, the Anti-Monitor, absorbing yet another positive-matter Earth with his antimatter cloud. In order to tip the scales for the heroes of the positive universe, the Monitor activates one last warrior. |

In many ways these lyrics made this render. I guess it is always darkest before the dawn, but waiting for the dawn has become very exhausting. This is one of the more darker pieces that I have done, not like the pin ups I have been doing. I guess it is true when they say that art comes from the soul.

Just one last test render using Ratteler's great armor. This is an image I've had in the back of my mind for sometime but until now I couldn't find any decent Iron Man armor. All elements done in DAZ 2.0 only some slight smudge work in post.Thanks once again for the Amazing Armor.

Alex Toth was a genius at character design. Spaceghost was one of the best ones he did. I wanted to do more of a serious shot of him rather than the humorous 'Coast to coast' persona. I was pretty pleased with this one almost all the way through it. It wasn't until the end of the coloring that something went wrong. I'm not sure if its his energy blasts, the background or the cape and cowl(if not all three) but something just isn't right. Or it could be something completely different that my conscious mind just isn't catching.
*After some of the great suggestions by fellow artists I fiddled with this one a bit. I like this new one. |
