Born in the Manchester section of Pittsburgh, Sapphire Nelson, beat the odds and made her way out of the slums. Attending Penn State and then entering the Peace Corp. Her volunteer duties brought her to Tanzania and the event that changed her life.
When rebels invaded the small village she was working in she led the survivors up one of the slopes of Kilimanjaro. While hiding in a cave Sapphire came upon an ancient altar holding a fist sized sapphire gem. When she picked it up the jewel glowed and then fused itself to her forehead. Imbued with the tremendous power the jewel held, Sapphire fought off the rebels and returned the villagers home.
Sapphire resides in her native Pittsburgh where she now lives as her cities protector.
Notes: Another childhood creation of mine. Although, she started off male and a knock off of Green Lantern. Over the years the concept changed and she probably received much of her look from Starfire. Too many years ago to remember...

Been a while, what with my computer practically blowing up and all.
So during this transition phase to a new, non-combustible computer,
I took some time to fight with photoshop on a strange system and finish some stuff I started.
My own version of an X-Men Trilogy.
With the original 5 in various timelines.
Creds to all whose hard work helped here...

Angel Wings are feathered wings from DAZ.
Blue Beast's hair is Jason Hair from DAZ.
Sinister's Cape is actually the poseable Ribbon from Adamthwaites (Mostdigital creations.com)
Archangel wings are pieced together photoshopped versions of the Serpentaillica snake wings from DAZ.
Sparkle and flare brushes by obsidiandawn.
Throw in some HeroFX from DAZ, M4, V4 and Freak4 textures, MATs and bodysuits by me,
and a lot of Photoshop postwork, and that pretty much sums it up.

| Now did you actually think I wasn't going to get around to doing Taz's favorite girl did ya. Maylen is probally the most popular of all the Unicorn characters if not the most seen. I won't go into her backstory too much as I'm sure most of you have already heard it before, the intersting thing is that I designed this figure months ago but was never truly satisfied with the outcome. I changed her looks slightly because I think a person with godly powers should look a little more regal...apologies to Taz. |

| Recreating Princess Gamma in 3D took a lot more out me than usual mostly because I wanted to keep her design as close to the original 2D version as possible without doing a lot of texture and trans mapping so I looked around for the parts and peices to make it work. PG is basically your typical amazon warrior woman from another planet who kicks major ass...but she holds a special place in the Unicorn universe because shes also the first and perhaps only bi-sexual hero we have. |

| My latest addition to both the Unicorn Universe and the growing list of Babes. Barbara Quincy was born a mutant with the ability to generate heated plasma usually in the form of flames. There's nothing really special about her powers..we've seen them in dozens of heroes. But I really liked her design typically because of the lack of the standard hero costume and the fact that she's so doggone cute. lol. Barbi Q has yet to make an appearance in any Unicorn story but I doubt it'll be too long before she does. |

In a previous posting, I showcased the Tikbalang, a half-human, half-horse creature that loves to trick humans and lead them astray.
Usually they are to be found in densely wooded areas, but once in a while they come out into the towns.
I based it on an idea from a Golden Age cover I saw recently...I think it was a Phantom Lady, with a blonde in her bed menaced by a crook pointing a gun in through her window....

Update: Reworked background as well as replaced the graffiti text with something more traditional. You may notice that elements of the Anti-Life equation are on the pulpit and that a better sense of depth is created by layering the new elements.

Backstory: It was the simplest task a Fury could have. Transport the cell of a prisoner to the temple of Glorious Godfrey for Sermon and Indoctrination. Perhaps the wayward adopted son of Darkseid would finally be reigned in.
Yet, here she was. Big Barda, trained by Granny Goodness personally, honed to cruel perfection by Darkseid himself, bested by a man hardly half her size.
She was impresses and intrigued by this rebel. Would they meet again?
Notes: While a lot of work went into Barda an equal amount of work (and more frustration) went into constructing Godfrey's temple and Apokolips outside. Does the name Victor von Frankenstein mean anything? Anyway my quest for clean edges and blended textures continues. I really like the model in this but have no idea who she is. her musculature was toned down (Believe it or not) and her breasts enhanced. |
