| Marvel Boy challenge - Jack Knight Ripoff Edition

You happy now, Force?
My version of Marvel Boy. I couldn't think of any "proper" costume that was sufficiently distinctive to stick out from all the cool stuff other people have come up with, so I ended up going with the Jack Knight Starman option: t-shirt, jeans and jacket with some elements specific to the character (logo and bracers). There y'go, now you can all go and vote for someone else's version. |

This nearly Killed me! I've been working on it for ages, as Leeta can tell you, and only just got it done. I've tried to "Real World" Spider-Womans costume. I've kept the wrinkles to a minimum again. The base picture was B&W so the face colour & lips have beed created from scratch.

This character appeared as a minor heroine in the book "Superboy and the Reavers" and was a villain on the Superman Adventures animated series.
Either way, I just wanted to see how the electricity would turn out. |

| Marvel Boy - Manga Style
Dark Wanderer Marvel Comics 2005/11/4 11:01

For this I gave him a manga style update. I figured I would incorperate the crown as a part of his armour instead of a tattoo or normal clothing. I even went with a visor like thing on his eyes. I debated for the longest time to add a cape or not, but it added arogence, and he looked pretty arogent in the end....... |

Well, this is my entry in this Bold challenge. The braclets, belt and knuckle protectors are in plain steel/chrome while the costume is blood red and white. Since, as I understand it, Marvel Boy died in a fight against Fantastic Four, I figured the first thing he should do is to settle the score. He's no villain, just a confused hero seeking revenge for the destruction of his home/family. That's why I gave his custume a bit of a 'uniform' style and so on. He should look a bit more hardcore.
(Ps. Yes, I know I used a computer to write the text, 'cus I can't do text worth a damn, but if that bothers anybody then i can submit a 'clean' one. ) |

FULL VERSION! http://www.zacpensol.com/gallery/halloween05.jpg
This is my Halloween picture. I wanted to do something creepy, then I thought I'd thrown in a bunch of comic book characters that are 'monster-like', so I picked Green Goblin (troll-type thing), Chastity (vampire), Spectre (ghost) and Solomon Grundy (Zombie). I was originally going to do Werewolf-by-night and Scarecrow, but ran out of time.
Thanks to my friend Toni for modeling for Chastity for me. Also, thanks to C2F/DCG artist Bill Turner for standing in as Grundy (though I altered his face considerably, Bill isn't THAT ugly). And thanks to my pal Nathan for originally modeling for Spectre, even though I ended up going with my own pics. Other thanks go to Adam and Nick for their advice and critiques.
I think that's it, I hate writing art notes. If anyone has any questions, just e-mail me. |

Okay so for a while, I've been wanting to do a close-as-possible reproduction of an actual comic cover. After finally deciding on a specific cover, and finding a model(Jana Cova, BB) that was as close to perfect as I could probably hope for, I was in business. I quick masked and painted on the costume(my first time trying seams and zippers-Jr, I hate you ), franked in the bench and rose, and got the wall, arch, grass, and walkway from a couple of paintings, then finally I found a tiny strand of ivy that I duplicated 37(!) times to cover the wall. I had to give Greg Horn credit on the cover, cause it is his concept, after all. Maybe now I can get some sleep, at least until I start on my tournament pic. Post away peoples, but rememeber, any emoticons and I'll be forced to.....uh.....drink this beer!(crap, this is empty. Better go get another hostage...) |

I???ve made the costume more of a modern ???realistic??? version, something she could wear out without everyone going ???hay, there???s a spandex clad superhero!??? |
