| This is my latest entry into the Universe of Obsidian Mask...I'm not sure where this is going at this point but I have some great ideas along the way...there'll be some character development, a deeper look into his relationships, as well as a better look at the less advanced worlds in Obsidian's universe. Action, adventure, and swashbuckling await...yes I said swashbuckling...(you'll see later I promise only a couple of Princess Bride nods/jokes)...anyhow..I have some assets in my inventory that I thought was about time folks got to see...BTW you may want to ask early about how I got a "Lorenzo Lorez" to wear such nice outfits. Cover for a manga that does not exist. And given how long it took me to complete just this, never will!
The concept came after casually browsing the managa shelves at a big comics store for memorable titles, then altering them slightly and trying to figure out what it would be about.
Thus the misadventures of an mostly female firm supplyng water coolers and bottled water, with a sideline in industrial espionage / crime fighting / saving the world from alien invasion.
Another title I'm considering is Black Butter. (It's a tough one!)

After pencilling there first version of my idea to have my more "realistic" Archies on stage and the classic version photographed on a fan's iPad, I realized I didn't take it far enough. The idea would be better if I actually worked with an iconic Archie image, such as the one with the whole group playing, as was shown on the cover to the first album of The Archies.
With this in mind, I re-posed Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead, and even Hot Dog in those original poses.
Here are my new, tight pencils.

I'd been thinking about creating an ARCHIE cover that played off the classic Archie style, so I decided on a scene with The Archies band -- Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, and Jughead -- playing on stage.
My idea was while the band would play onstage, someone in the audience takes their photo with their iPad....and the image on the iPad shows them in their classic style.
Here are the pencils of my first try. I thought it was cute!
