This is one of my favorite-ever pieces, and I had LOADS of help with this one.
Awhile back, when I first joined Heromorph, I posted a really basic version of this as a stand-alone manip. It was a small image and didn't get much response from anyone at the time. Now I've tweaked it and found a good use for it.
Some details: This began as a photo of me, actually wearing the tight, tiny Banzai Girl costume. In the photo shoot, we even had a fishing line to pull up my skirt for the always-helpful undies shot. And, of course, a fan was always blowing.
My "Team Banzai" friends did much of the photomanip work on this, working from -- and over -- my layout and drawing.
Then Jason Perkins, an amazing fellow Heromorpher, did the design work on this to turn it into a movie poster, even interpeting my BANZAI GIRL logo into some more fitting for a film. A big 27" x 40" print of this is proudly hanging in my house!
My hope is we will soon be able to show this in some Hollywood meetings to see if we can get some interest in an actual BANZAI GIRL movie.

thanks for visiting.
as you can see i've been really getting back into comic heroes.my last piece and a graphic novel got me to thinking about the alex ross flash from kingdom come.in it it said the flash had accelerated so fast he'd become part of the speed force all flashes get there meta powers from.in the graphic novel 'blackest night' there's a scene where the flash (barry allen) actually stops moving to contemplate in grief over what's happened.
that and a recent convo on my last image got me to thinking 'why not mix up those concepts and show what the flash might look like if he actually slowed down enough to see him?'
and wha la.this is what i envisioned.

F.A.K.K II is from the pages of Heavy Metal Illustrated. She was created by Simon Bisley for the second Heavy Metal movie. Originally Julie Strain was the model and actress for the character but I decided to use Amy (Lita) Dumas instead. Hope you like.  |

Jason Peter Garrick is a college student prior to 1940 (later retconned to 1938) who accidentally inhales hard water vapors after falling asleep in his laboratory where he had been working (later stories would change this to heavy water vapors). i had a blast putting together this image.i tried it once about 4 years ago with limited resources.i've had it filed away till now.it made a good base for this.for you die hard comic fans out there there are a few flaws in my design but one of my greatest joys is creating from scratch all the cool things i remember from my childhood just not always by tradition.
