Another Justice Babe...this time Aqua(Wo)Man.
And in keeping with the Aquatic babe theme, the model is Olympic Swimmer Stephanie Rice.
In addition, since she hails from Australia, the underwater city is modeled after her own Brisbane's cityscape-with Sydney's opera house thrown in for its architectural genius.

Thought this was going to be a total travesty but it turned out to only be a semi-travesty so I guess I can live with that. Gave me good practice with shading anyway. BTW if anyone wants to manip Lionheart, don't bother trying to get her exact costume because it was different in every pic of her I found. |

Ok, so I wanted to do something a little different for this member of the League.
I picked an appropriate model for the character, not just because of her...um...assets.
This is Iveta Lalova, a Bulgarian sprinter, and sincerely one of the 25 fastest women on the planet.
I found the pic of her in an awesome pose and created a new background with help from a few brushes I found online (smoke type from taze485 and falln-stock, and flame style from obsidiandawn)
The coloring of the smoke and flames took a lot of trail and error to get it to look right.
I think it came out pretty interesting.

Another line art piece by Jamie, this time just for fun. Mockingbird of Marvel Comics/Avengers/West Coast Avengers fame, in honor of her return. Mock's one of my favorite characters, second only to Moira, and has been dead for a good long time now. Because Marvel likes to spite me, and likes to kill any competent, intelligent, sarcastic kickass unpowered women in their comics.
Colored in PSP, while holding an infant in my lap. So it's probably not my best work, but I'm just thrilled to be doing any art again. |

The mace I borrowed from an online medieval weapons catalog and spiffed up with some effects inspired by
ReddEra's Hawgirl (Thanks for making that one so sweet!)
The model I thought was a perfect fit...Jennifer "Hawkins"...I think a Miss Universe, or America or something.
I don't know why Paris...I just liked the wallpaper photo (found at DesktopWallpapers.com)
The rest I made myself...came out OK I think.

First issue cover. Synopsis: While following a lead to an underground Vegas drug connection (the town is only referred to as Vegas, never Las Vegas) Miss V uncovers the secret lair of The Queen-of-Nice, an arms smuggler for the trade, and the first in a series of super villains. The origins of Miss V are also introduced in back story sequences.
The artwork took me much longer to compose than usual. I initially held an image in my mind that was not in its entirety. It had to be fleshed out, though piecemeal, on paper and in PS. Special thanks to Mr. Android and his wonderful artistic sensibilities for helping me get past a few creative blocks, and Mr. MC and his expertise with firearms. |
