| Hot Dawg is the other of my two newest creations for the Animals gang, having been created just recently along with Fearless Flamingo and not in 1995 like the rest of them were. Unlike Fearless though, he did not have any basis of his creation that was dependent on the re-imagining of any of the other previous members. Rather, his creation lied solely on just making something of an opposite number for Cold 'Coon. I figured, if I've got one guy on the team who always appears to be cold, then why not have another guy who always appears to be hot? And, here is the guy who is the answer to that, and as you can read in the bio above, I have explained all of the reasons why he certainly exemplifies his name |

| Cold 'Coon started out as just a silly little raccoon character that was always bundled up in his winter gear all of the time and that was basically his only defining character trait. However, when I began to think about what I really wanted to do with all of these characters and really started to give them each their own individual defining back stories and the Animals grew into this bunch of animated heroes who all have unique skills, jobs, and talents that they combine for the betterment of their society, I knew that I had to have him be something more than just a silly chilly raccoon. So, I began brainstorming ways in which I could incorporate his defining character trait into a job that he could do and contribute to the team with. Since most of the members of the gang all have high profile jobs where they can perform and raise money for charities and whatnot, I decided that he could be a snowboarder. Yet, I also figured that it doesn't come easy for him like it does for the rest. He actually has to work at overcoming his fears to get on the board and do the tricks that make him a champion at it because his constant wearing of heavy clothing no matter what his location or the temperature might be has more to do with his personal anxieties than any real regulation of body temperature, as it's more of a security blanket than anything. But, he is so inquisitive and playful by nature as well, that despite his carefulness and reservations, he is still motivated to seek out such thrills in order to overcome it all. This all stems from the actual natures of real world raccoons who can be extremely curious about things and want to explore and get into things like your trash cans for food, but then also be easily skittish and scared away. |

| Merilith Class 8 demon

| Meriliths are demonic lords who govern regions of the underworld for masters far greater than themselves. They are trustworthy and fiercely loyal as well as highly intelligent. They are master strategists and make excellent generals. They are always armed with a vast number of weapons for their many hands. They do however prefer swords over more technological weapons, but that is not say to say you won't find one wielding firearms. Their powers are nearly as vast as their masters and they are able to grant wishes though with limited effect. Throughout the eons a certain reputation for a "Monkey's Paw" effect has made many a mortal balk at the idea of trading a soul with these beings so they are encouraged to help such mortals make better choices. Merilith do must take whatever trade is offered for their soul but despise stupid wishes like chickens raining from the sky or some such. If such an embarrassing wish occurs they will often seek out good heroes to remove the wish maker..permanently. Merelith's are well schooled in magic and not to be trifled with they are viscous killers and enjoy a challenge. |

| Nightmare Class 2 Demon

| Nightmares are demonic steeds summoned from the pits of Hades and are faster than any horse or equivalent creature in the 5 galaxies. They are immune to fire of all kinds and no form of hat can harm them. They can be summoned magically or tasked by an elder demon though the latter is rarer than one might think. These horses are not some simple dumb animal but intelligent beings just as capable at plotting evil as any denizen of Hell. They have been known to take inexperienced summoners on "shortcuts" through hell to travel faster, though they seldom tell their riders that the trip is often one way if one is not prepared for such a journey. They can speak most languages and are adept liars. They despise both Pgasai and unicorns but especially noble Pegasai with whom they are compelled to do battle with to the exclusion of all else, unto death...rider or no. They like most demons, can barter for souls though few would trade their soul for transportation. Their appearance is that of a flaming horse made of lava rock, and all extremities are aflame save for their large demonic wings. They are susceptible to cold and cold-based attacks and any attack that channels goodness or holiness. Unlike many denizens of darkness they require feeding while in the mortal realms which generally takes the form of freshly killed meat though they much prefer the taste of sentient beings they can survive on any fresh kill. They are considered class 2 demons for their sheer lack of demonic powers but their primary attack is a massive gout of flames with a range as great as any dragon's and ten times as hot. Their fire resistance/immunity does not extend to their riders and they have been know to conveniently forget this fact when seeking refuge in places such as volcanoes. They truly are a mount you ride at your own risk. As an important side note some powerful Evil warlords (including Death Knights.) are often granted one of these steeds as a reward for furthering some demon's agendas...such riders are one with their mounts and a formidable duo and should not be taken lightly. |

| Since the Animals were created back in 1995, I guess you could say that Surfer Frog is definitely a product of the times since he was created at a time when there were a lot of these extreme kinds of characters that participated in things such as surfing and other so-called extreme sports in media all over the place back then. I also made him something of a lifeguard to give him something of an extra talent besides just being the radical surfer dude of the gang, which I guess is partially influenced by the Baywatch craze that also perpetuated the 90's. |

| Sport Cat is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, member(s) of the Animals gang. He's even older than their two leaders, Kool Wolf and Fearless Flamingo. That doesn't mean that he doesn't like hanging out with them and being a part of the team though, because even though he is older than them, it's only by a year or two, and he enjoys being a role model to those in the gang that are even younger still, because he's all about good sportsmanship and doing your best for yourself and others. |

| Alright, if Phat Pig is the big guy who is always jovial and eating all of the time, then Lean Lizard is his complete opposite. He is the quite and not very talkative bean pole of a character who keeps slim and trim so that he can squeeze into all kinds of tight spaces and do the kinds of dirty jobs that no one else really likes to do. It's all in the name of keeping his city clean and helping out his friends though, and he would never use his talents for any wrong doing. That's exactly why he is with the Animals and not the Creatures. |

| This guy was originally just called Fat Pig, with just the regular spelling because he was just the stereotypical funny fat guy cartoon pig character that was always eating. In many ways he is still that kind of a character, but I decided that it would be better to change the spelling of his name to Phat Pig in order to, no pun intended this time, flesh him out, into a better character with more dimensions, even though he is just a 2D character. (OK, that one was a pun.) Now, instead of just being the funny fat guy who always eats, he is the funny fat guy who always eats who is also a celebrity chef complete with all of the hip style and attitude that goes along with it. |

| This is a revamp of my old image. I figured while I'm waiting around to install my new video card I'd take a few more good images with the old one. Obsidian takes a lot of memory and several need soooo much more so for now I'm keeping it simple. I liked my old Succubus but it needed updating and I wanted to play some on Photoshop...no speed painting (I don't have those skills) but some quick editing. |

| Smarty Fly is the super genius of the Animals gang. Every good team needs one, and he's their guy. With his brains he could be doing a lot more than just hanging around with the Animals and being stuck in one place, and I've mentioned it in the bio above, but what I also say is that while he could leave them and do so much more, he would also be very lonely and he values his friendship with the others much more than any desire to explore and learn more about the universe. So, he dutifully sticks with them to help them do what is good for his world and stays always the dreamer that someday his friends might be able to join him in his dreams. |

| As I noted in my comments about Fearless Flamingo, Game Bird here was originally the one who was a flamingo when I first created him back in 1995. However, since I like for my characters to have more than one meaning to their names, it didn't make much sense for a flamingo to be called a game bird, since birds that are hunted for game are chickens, ducks, quails, etc. and not flamingos. I could have just made him another rooster or duck, but I felt like those kinds of birds are too common in cartoons, so I decided to go with a black swan since it was different and it also allowed me to keep him with a similar design to his original look as a flamingo that ended up going to Fearless. He keeps the long skinny legs and neck while now being in line with what a game bird is, however, in my usual way of using word play, he is of course not hunted for game, but is rather an individual who hunts for games to play himself and is the undisputed master at it. |

Fearless Flamingo is the co-leader of the Animals who works along with Kool Wolf in piloting the gang to doing good for their world, and it's very appropriate that he is indeed a pilot! 
(Also, a bit of behind the scenes info about this character. The majority of this group of characters are actually quite old, having been created in 1995, but this guy and Hot Dawg, are new creations that I just made up now. I did this because, I needed to add two extra characters to make their numbers even with the Creatures, their rivals. Another thing with this guy is that the reason that he is a flamingo is that, Game Bird, another member of this team, was originally such a bird, but I did not feel that him being such an animal really matched to his name, so I decided to make him a different kind of water fowl that more appropriately fit, and he became a black swan, while this new character became the flamingo.) |

| My latest grouping of characters, and my first for 2017, The Animals, begins appropriately with their leader, the marvelous Kool Wolf. While each of the rest of the rest of the gang each have their own unique individual jobs and talents that flesh them out as individual personalities in the bunch, Kool Wolf is a bit more undefined. He's just kind of their leader and that's it. Wolves are mysterious creatures anyway, so that's why I pretty much left him like that. |

Mike Connors,‘Mannix’ Star, Dies at 91.
Best known for playing detective Joe Mannix
on 1960s and ’70s show “Mannix,” died on
Thursday in Tarzana, Calif.
He had been diagnosed a week ago with leukemia,
according to his son-in-law Mike Condon.
“Mannix” ran for eight seasons from 1968 to 1975
and was the last series from Desilu Productions.
Connors won a Golden Globe for his performance
as a tough, athletic investigator, who in
quintessential detective show style, insisted
on doing things his own way and often got beat
up in the process. He drove an impressive series
of muscle cars including a Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Camaro.
“Here’s Lucy” produced a crossover episode in
1971 with Connors and Ball, called “Lucy and
Mannix Are Held Hostage.”
As recently as 2007, he made a guest appearance
on “Two and a Half Men.” His other TV
appearances included “Murder, She Wrote,”
“Love Boat,” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
The handsome square-jawed actor also appeared
in early ’60s TV series “Tightrope!” and
“Today’s F.B.I.” in the early ’80s. He later
played Colonel Hack Peters in Herman Wouk
miniseries “War and Remembrance.” |

With both ships docked we get to work on running full diagnostics and pouring over the Runt's logs. They were attacked with precision and the enemy knew where they were most vulnerable. Going over the schematics reveals some serious design flaws. No Infinitium plating, and no cloaking system. This ship is NOT my Runt. Moreover the Zero-Men running this show are still wearing our Generation one armors which crumble to dust with the slightest pressure. The chemical composition has been fundamentally altered. Judging by their backup armors their suits were composed of only Absorbium 80 which is great but inferior to my current armor's 120. No servos, barley and scanners to speak of, and positively none of their gear was flashed. Magical scans reveal a type of vampirism that literally pulled the life essence right out of them.
"Somebody was feeding?"
I say out loud without noticing.
"Not feeding." a voice from behind says "They were taking the life energy and collecting it."
I spin around to face the voice from behind me, weapons drawn and ready to go. Before me stands a woman roughly my height and wearing armor similar to the one I wore during my stint as God of Intrigue. Hers however, is covered in purple webbing and there's no sense of divine anything about her. Next to her stands...me...or at least another me again wearing my old armor. In fact it's the armor I wore during The Infinity-Man crisis. It's also composed of Absorbium 80, no servos but it has a few perks. God slayer is extended and the golden blade has their attention, and they appear to know exactly what it is capable of because neither of them make a move. The female speaks softly, calmly as if trying to talk down a crazed gunman. I'm not crazed...freaked out, but not crazed.
"Relax Obsidian, we only came here to talk."
"So talk."
I point the blade at the guy in my old armor.
"You be silent."
He doesn't seem happy but he complies.
"Okay sweetheart, you don't have long, security is on it's way and they are standard issue Mantis style troops so this better be good or it will be a very short conversation.
"Right. Okay here's the jist of it: An alien force of unknown origin and number is targeting the multiverse looking for the myriad versions of Obsidian Mask, aka you. Some of the survivors have banded together to combat them. Thus far with little success. They are Immune to magic, save for the most powerful type such as your sword, and are capable of negating Absorbium 80. They also seem to be searching for one Obsidian in particular, a Prime Obsidian if you will. We don't know what they want with the Prime but we're trying to get to him or her first."
"How do you know the prime isn't one of your group?"
"Because they're still searching."
"Okay, I have recently been through some serious clone crap and some life altering alternate reality crap. How about I call in a favor and see if the Black Scorpion can help?"
"That's a good thought," says the one I told to remain silent, "But the entire empire declined. In nearly every reality and time. They don't want to be involved."
"After all I have done for them? We'll see about that."
I call up Karr and he gives me a speech about temporal imperatives and protecting the multiversal time lines and a bunch of other crap that basically means they're no gonna help. But I don't let him off that easy.
"Fine, I get it Karr, but now it's time for me to collect on your debt. You said NOTHING was off the table and what I want is a simple request."
"We won't get involved directly."
"I don't need you to, I need you to send me something you already have. Something the Black Mantis designed just for me."
"Heh Heh Heh, I'm a step ahead of you my friend."
"Oh?"
"You've had it this whole time."
"Seriously? That bastard lied to me?"
"He used to do that pretty much regularly."
"Fine, then I rescind my demand for another time if it's all the same to you."
Purple can't believe her ears or eyes. Apparently she's never interacted with Mantis or his people and is somewhat stunned by the fact that I have a direct line.
"You know them? Personally?"
"I would assume we all do."
"No, we don't." interjects the one who was supposed to remain silent.
"Then how did you contact them?"
"Obsidian God of Intrigue"
At that moment the ships alarms nut out.
INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT, UNAUTHORIZED PRESENCE IN MAIN ENGINEERING. SECURITY TEAMS REPORT TO MAIN ENGINEERING
The three of us make a Beeline to main engineering. If it's who we think it is, he's in the wrong place, and this is NOT the right day to be screwing with me or my ship.
The doors open and the first thing I see is Sabrina laid out against a nearby station her limp body slumped over. the engineering crew is in similar shape meaning their attacker is no joke. The two Obsidian's and I move cautiously into the room. Seemingly out of the shadows the lone alien figure grasps the male version of me by his helmet and I watch in horror as the life saving ore disintegrates in it's grasp, my alternate self lets out a scream for an instant and falls to the floor with a sickening thud. It turns it's attention to me and I smile beneath my domed helm.
I move to avoid it's grasp but it's faster than it looks and it grabs a firm hold of my...Infinitium Helmet. The Black Mantis deceived me when I told him not to modify my armor and to only upgrade it. This guy DID NOT get the memo and until today neither did I. He seems confused and attempts to dissolve my faceplate once again but I'm done with this. My weapons unlike my brethren's ARE flashed and I show this bastard exactly what that means as put three very large holes in him blowing his head clean off his torso. As it hits the ground it begins dissolving into an unidentifiable puddle of goo.
The spider lady is stunned. Quickly I run over to Sabrina who is luckily still alive, although a bit broken. The remaining Engineers are in similar shape. Medics arrive in no time along with a forensics squad.
Spider Lady walks up and like a winded fangirl exclaims
"That was freaking AWESOME!!! You totally Owned that alien asshole!"
Staring down at her partner her tone becomes more somber.
"That's usually the result of our conflicts, if they touch you, you die. No ifs ands or buts about it."
Through my own communications I hear my voice
"42 what is your situation, we detected an anomaly report."
"We're all good here sir, our guy took out one of the invaders, and sir...They touched his face."
"I think you may have located our Prime."
"Why's that?"
"The invaders abandoned all other Ops almost simultaneously. All groups are reporting back...You better bring your guy in. How is 22?"
"He...he didn't make it."
"Understood, he was a good man. Report back ASAP."
She turns to me but before she can speak I stop her.
"Let me clean up this mess and get the ball rolling from here. You stay till I'm ready, a day, two at the most and then I'll come meet your friends."
I don't like any of this but her friends may have answers I need. For now I need to get some things squared away here. |

"Same as the last twelve times, it's a damned slaughter. I got dead ninjas everywhere they took out the entire clan by the looks of it. How do they keep beating us to the punch?"
"Did the target have absorbium?"
"Roger, but no Infinitium."
"Resurrection defeated as always?"
"Yep. At least they're consistent. What about the other teams?"
"They found the same thing, every time."
"Alright we'll head back and , we'll discuss our options. We have to find the prime before they do or everyone, everywhere is screwed."
"You don't have to remind me Bloodmask we are all well aware of the consequences for failure. Cybermask out."
We're tired of coming up short, our victories are too few and their numbers are too great. They turn our armor to powder and preventing any hope of revivification. We only know for certain that they're after the prime and none of us are it. We have to get to him or her before they do, hopefully we'll find the prime first and bolster our ranks at the same time. The Black Mantis has refused to interfere as has his successor so we're on our own against this unknown threat. God help us all.
