If someone were to ask, "What's the most difficult problem that schoolgirls face today in a Heromorph world?", what would be the answer?
Homework? Dating complications? Lecherous teachers? Windy drafts? Uniforms that tear too easily? The mind reels.
So: I took an informal poll of all the manga and anime` schoolgirls I know, including my best friend and my sister, and our overwhelming answer is: Tentacles!
Those pesky things seem to show up anywhere and everywhere. I don't think of fried calamari with sweet chili sauce to be so much as an appetizer as payback! :)

Update 2: Took some advice from below and attempted to better blend the models into the scene. I think in large part I succeeded, of course I leave that for you to judge.
Update note: Lowered the Opacity of a Texture blend on Purgatori and played around with OnOne's Intellihance pro. Seemed to help a bit with the res discrepency.

Remind me again never to work on stuff while watching Adult Swim.
This actually started out as an exercise in painting hair from scratch. (I know, I still suck at it, but I'm trying new things here, so live with it.)
As it moved along, Samurai Jack was on TV, and it turned into a fight scene between a Jinky Coronado wannabe schoolgirl and her evil sister.
Then Robot Chicken came on...needless to say, the lockers reminded me of the
"You Can't do that on Televeision" spoof, and thus MissVee and co_04 (in avatar form) make an inspired appearance.
The Red haired gal and "Redd" spray paint are, of course, a nod to Reddera, who had given me several tips on drawing hair,
which was actually the inspration for the start of the whole piece in the first place -- thanks again, Redd, I'm still working on all of your advice.

| My elf assassin, Silver. I emphasized the darkness in this pic, as she normally works under cover of night with her pistol of choice, a Mk24 SOCOM II Silenced. Her eyes are normally a silvery-black, but I plan to use different colors of glow to represent her separate vision modes, in this case green for night vision. Also, due to her smartlink, the laser is pointless, I just thought it looked cool. :p |

These two girls were originally created for a superhero RPG (of the dice, paper and pencil variety, this was years before CoH) that I developed years ago.
The blonde is Helen Furstin, the inmortal daughter of a XIVth Century alchemist, and the Goth is Marie Prichard, a XIXth Century French Vampiress. In the Universe that I developed for the RPG these two have been fighting evil together since the Pulp Era. |

My character Banzai Girl is caught among three worlds. In "real life," she's a schoolgirl worrying about homework, boys, and mythical monsters that have become all too real.
Meanwhile, her dreams alternate visions of herself as a Princess or as a Future Freedom Fighter.
And when all three realities intrude upon her, life becomes way too much to handle!
This is an art team-up, by the way. BATTLE OF THE PLANETS and WOLVERINE MANGA artist Wilson Tortosa worked on it with me.
