After being honored by being nominated for best 1st manip, I decided to post the revamp of the same pic after seeing some of the comments and pointers. I never uploaded it when it was done, but I redid the background so I could use it as the desktop on my laptop. Again, whoever nominated me, much gratitude. |

English glamour model, Lucy Pinder, as Lara Croft, crawling around in some evil-infested jungle ruin. This took a lot of work. The clothes were all from scratch and I had to redo her hair. The background was done in photoshop using 2-point perspective (this would have been easier if I had a 3D modeling app) and decorated with found photos. The reflection in the water is practically another manip. I Frankensteined parts of my original Lara onto another pic of Pinder. The pistol was a found photo. |

I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I found the base to this pic and loved the pose. The model was Briana Banks. I kinda like doing Spidergirl, as you can probably tell, but this piece really jumps out at you I think. I hope you enjoy this one. |

Thought I'd go with another unusual villain with this one, Starro the conqueror. Also there was a request to do more or an action cover, so here it is.

Well, what can I say about this one...mmm... this is my first male superheroe (it's difficult to find good male models), and also it's the firts time I tried to frankenstein a body, the guy in the base pic had a "girly" pose for a batman so I cut the head and I rotated in the right position, I also did the same thing with the body, The painting is the usual, except this time I added a leather texture on the cowl, and a wave texture on the costume, for the belt I used a comic image from Jim Lee's belt, and I repainted it (well it wasn't that easy!).
I found the "batcave" background in the net (**sorry I don't remember the site) and I adjusted the light and shadows to make the cave darker, I also used a color balance layer to add a blue tint on it. The rest of the elements I found them doing a google search (**) and I didn't expect to find all those items, and finally I added a floor. |

| Cheetara Android TV and Movies 2004/8/29 9:32 6756 17
1. Source: The model is Marie Pierre Ripert, another bodybuilder.
2. Commenting the image: Wonderful pose. Elegant shading. The image, however, was very dirty.
3. Making of: Basically the same steps used for “Panthro”. I liked the boots. Originally, this woman was bare-footed.
Note: Of course I don't think this model is the prettiest woman in the world... But the pose compensated everything. Cheetara would deserve more. |

Well, I seem to have struck gold with my last piece. Thanks for all the cool comments. This picture shows SG flying high above New York as she is leaving a "friend". She has that "I'll call you later" look on her face. Either that, or..."Thanks for a good time". LOL...Enjoy! |

| Birdman SilverAgeMage TV and Movies 2004/8/27 21:54 3475 4
Before he became Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law, Birdman was my favorite of Hanna-Barberas' animated super-heroes. He could fire solar blasts and create energy shields, which made him cooler than other winged characters. His eagle is Avenger, and, yes, folks, he's purple. They're both seen leaving the "Bird-lair". |

Here is the 2nd version of my lauren_anderson supergirl. As you can see, some changes on the boots, skirt, T-shirt and more. What do you think about ? Don't forget to check the original picture on the Adult side, if you want to see the original girl and possibly to assess the manipulation work. |

| Powergirl Issue #4 - Ulitmate Dream Team Issue! R_o_c_i_n_a_t_e DC Comics 2004/8/27 12:18 6489 7
For all the fanboys out there I thought I'd team-up DC two female powerhouses together for this cover. They would make a good team, I think. They have sort of a good cop/bad cop thing going.
Once again I used Charlie O'Neale (face) for Powergirl and Monica Bellucci as Wonder Woman.
I've also realized that these covers are in the vein of the old She-Hulk covers where she was actually speaking to the reader. Oh, well it works! |

| Supergirl Flies To The Rescue! Jedifan227 DC Comics 2004/8/26 0:31 6601 10
Well, I have to say this was my hardest manip ever, and probably my personal best. I took the idea from a manip I saw on here, featuring Superman,(I hope nobody minds), and I put my own spin on it. This was 3 seperate images to start, all in large format. The original to this pic is HUGE! I spent hours perfecting Supergirl herself, then working in the plane and the background. The overall theme of the pic is cool, but the final product to me is breathtaking! I would appreciate any and all comments that you might have. Gahhh, I tired!!! ENJOY!!!!! |

| Darkdevil QuantumFX Marvel Comics 2004/8/24 12:24 3265 1
Well, here's where I stray from the original A-Next Cover. Darkdevil's head is cut off in the original cover and quite frankly, his costume is too cool not to do. I'll crop it down in the final cover. For those of you non-Spidergirl readers Darkdevil here has the most convoluted-origin-ever! (Imagine I said that like the Simpons comic book guy.) It's the Spider-man clone's son with the remnants of Ghost Rider's abilities and Daredevil's spirit. |

As usual, been working on this a while with varying degrees of success. I almost scrapped the entire piece, but decided to persevere and I think things fell into place. Here Mutant X's Victor Webster has been cast as Gambit.
This was about 80 layers in all, the coat was a sunnuvabitch to manip/frankenstein together.
As always, comments welcome! |

1. Source: Sorry. I do not have such information. If somebody recognizes the man, please tell me.
2. Commenting image: The original image is fantastic. I almost did not use it because it would be very easy to reach the desired result. The pose and the shadows made a spectacular photo.

Hey guys! Been way to busy to even lurk here lately, but I wanted to post my latest. This is a pic I just finished for a kid w/ muscular dystrophy, and a huge spidey fan. That's actually me in a halloween costume made by my wife. I obviously enhanced the lighting (trying to correct it for the background) The rest is all me baby! (How do superheroes stand the heat of the summer months? I was sweating my @$$ off!) Anyway, It was for a good cause! Peace! -Leif. |

Well this is a manip I have been working on of Kristiana Locken as Supergirl (the actual photomanip isn't finished but I wanted to try something different with what I have done so far.) The original pic of Kristiana was of a magazine cover and she is wearing a purple swimsuit. I manipped on the costume (will provide details when I post the actual finished manip) and then have been trying to tweak it for the past week or so. Anyways I wanted to submit something new and I thought I might try giving it a sketchy look. I have tried this before with various levels of success and failure but I think this one turned out ok. I merged all the layers in my WIP together to get Kristiana in costume cut out on a layer of her own then I found a nice background at eldargraphics.com which matched the lighting and coloring of kristiana quite well. flipped the background to match pose and merged both layers together. duplicated the layer. On one layer I added some random white noise and then used my trusty old penpartner tablet and began to 'scratch' away at the picture to give the impression of pencil strokes. The other layer I used the edge preserving smooth at max and then enhanced edges and finally traced contours to give 'layout' lines and add some definition back to some of the shapes. all in all I think it came out quite well.. and now back to the manip itself. |

Some frankensteining was used with the cape. I used bedsheets from several pics and smudged em together. Her hand is from a pic of Jenny McCarthy. Some of her hair is from Torrie Wilson, which I touched up with the paintbrush. The model is Jamie Bergman from Son of the Beach. She was leaning against a lifeguard station railing so that's why I had to replace her hand. Done on Photoshop. |
