| Metal-Lisa and Metal-Liza
darth_paul Original Characters 2016/6/6 6:57
1636 4
"Metal-Lisa" and "Metal-Liza" are the possible future daughters of "Dr. Phase" and "Metallica" sent through time and space through a faulty trans-dimensional portal while looking for their lost parents only to wind up finding past versions of them and opting to stay with those past versions until they can find the actual future ones that they belong with. I came up with their names as a bit of a pun on their mother's code name when developing them as characters. I guess that I thought that while they inherited the powers of both of their parents, and even borrowed costume elements from both, that they would mostly take after their mom. Good luck telling them apart though, as they are exactly identical, but for the purposes of this bio, I guess you could say that Lisa is on the left and Liza is on the right just as their names are ordered. |

No, she is not named for the band, she is named after the simple fact that the Latin word for metal is "Metallica." She is also of the same alien race as my character, "Transforma" of my super-hero team, the "Galactic Police Enforcers." They are not related in any way though. |

The situation between "Dr. Phase" and "Metallica" and their time-displaced future daughters, is of course inspired by the convoluted family dynamics of "Cyclops" and "Jean Grey" of the "X-Men." I just thought that I would try my hand at doing something similar with my own characters. |

| Toolz
darth_paul Original Characters 2016/5/31 7:02

Toolz rounds out the original trio that I had created many years ago as the first concepts of what has now become the E2DJF. The other two were Jack Rabbit and Grasshopper, with the rest such as Shielda and Beach Bunny, to come much later but to be added into their roles on the team a I saw fit in my behind-the-scenes writings while fleshing them out. As with many of my characters, my ideas for them come from a lot of different influences that I like to throw into a blender and see what mixes. This guy gets the youthful idealism and idolization of his older peers as a hero from the classic teen hero template, the ability to transform his arms into tools from any number of stretchy or mechanized shape-shifters, and lastly his inability to speak in any language but his own, yet be able to be understood by and understand others speaking to him in their language, from how this kind of thing always goes on in the Star Wars Universe with no problems. I usually just write his dialog in English though, but just in brackets, and make a notation somewhere to the side of the comics that it's been translated for the reader, but he really only speaks in his native Zith tongue. Also, the part in the bio above where it says that he is trying to learn how to speak universal English and learn more about human culture, but gets a little confused due to his unfamiliarity and attempts to look cool, should not be taken as me trying to make fun of anyone like that. It's purely, me setting a background for a character. The part about him changing his name from "Tool" to "Toolz" is however, a bit of self-depreciating humor on my part because I did have his name originally be "Tool," and knew that it was a bit unflattering, but I had always wanted the character to be kind of awkward and not really realizing why his chosen codename was so bad, because to him it just meant that he could make tools, or that he was a valuable tool for others, and not really ever get the other negative connotations of the word. Therefore, I decided to make it into an "extreme misspelling" so that it would be plural, in a sense, and still exemplify the awkwardness of a character trying too hard to be a cool super-hero, but couldn't really help it because he's an alien in a strange world that he's not familiar with, but doing his best to fit in. |

| Grasshopper

In terms of the hierarchy of the E2DJF, if Shielda is the founding mother, and Jack Rabbit can be likened to the first president, then Grasshopper is the first lady. She is fiercely loyal to them and shows her constant support by always doing all that she can to promote their goals of protecting those in need. Her bio is a lot shorter than most, not really because of the lack of space, since Grasshopper and her logo take up a large part of it, which did leave me with having to be short and to the point with her, but mainly because while she is a character that I like a lot and intend to obviously have a major role with this team, what you see written here pretty much is all that I've written about her, so this layout worked itself out. |

Shielda is the founder of Earth-II Defense, the parent organization behind the Justice Force, hence why she has both logos featured at the bottom of her bio. She's a tough chick who takes no crap from anyone and does whatever it takes to defend those in need. |

| Aleister Crowley
Mikeall Other Comics 2016/5/25 7:32
2072 2
Roused from his drug induced revelry, by a needy 1920’s metropolitan constabulary, Eddie Skelson’s wonderful Aleister Crowley proceeds to skilfully diagnose, and then wilfully circumvent, a Lovecraftian nightmare gestating in the Kensington home of society ‘faux’ occultist, Roman Ravensblack. The story that unfolds, as Eddie Skelson reminds us in the author’s note, is made up and presents a version of Aleister Crowley somewhat artistically removed from the occultist, drug addict, social provocateur, and mountaineer, who gained his notoriety at the turn of the 20th century. What propels Skelson’s thoroughly entertaining narrative so effectively, apart from rune- inscribed potatoes having more punch than firearms, is his version of Crowley, especially how he chooses to heighten the characters sense of purpose. Given the impediments before Crowley, from functioning in his dressing gown and leather slippers late at night alongside cynical uniformed policemen, to outwitting an increasingly desperate Mokoi, brought forth by Ravensblack’s amateur occult dablings, and now prone to literally fashion sharp dining cutlery and dead society guests into its preferred automatic weapons of choice, we still find it perfectly credible that Crowley’s sole motivation to succeed is money and the promise by Inspector Bryson of a coveted object from Ravenblack’s own collection of occult ephemera. Self-interest and self-preservation are Cowley’s strongest and best characteristics and we like him the more for them, especially when they are embellished with hilarious profanities that somehow, given the period, work brilliantly to extend the character to the point of authenticity – perhaps anticipating further appearances? | Doctor Omega and Fred
Obsidian Original Characters 2016/5/21 13:30
1537 0
Doctor Omega, is the mysterious inventor of a projectile-shaped spacecraft dubbed Cosmos which can also function on land and under water. The Cosmos is 13 meters long and 3 meters in diameter. It outer hull is composed of is an element found only on one asteroid thus far (all of which has been used in the construction of the Cosmos) called Repulsite which when charged warps space\time barrier and enables it to travel in the temporal plane thus allowing for time travel. The interior is divided into four sections, the ship powered by the unique Omnicore drive which uses compressed antimatter derived from Quadrocite to power the small vessel. The windows are composed of Stellite (a transparent form of Repulsite). In addition to the pilot compartment, the sections of the ship include a cargo bay/armory, and ample sleeping quarters as well as a highly advanced temporal navigation room. It is important to note that Repulsite creates within the ship a type of temporal displacement field which causes those within to remain unaffected by any changes in the space/time continuum. Doctor Omega is a rare specimen indeed being an immortal and human, he is impervious to all forms of death save for extremes (disintegration, dissection, decapitation, and full body compression or the like) The doctor can be temporarily "Killed" by normal means during which time his body regenerates. Using a soul Stone the good doctor's life long companion Fred (The last Racaenoid in existence.) remains alive so long as the good Doctor does...their life forces inexorably linked to one another. Fred has all of the same weaknesses as the doctor with the notable exception that Fred is not harmed by non magical conventional weaponry. Fred also possesses cybernetic implants which glow brightly beneath his skin. The implants grant Fred superhuman speed (up to 550 mph), and colossal strength (Fred can lift in excess of 100 tons), Fred, while not highly intelligent does have enough experience to pilot the cosmos through both space and time and can plot rudimentary courses and activate the on board medical equipment. |

Obsidian Sci-fi 2016/5/16 16:36
1976 0
Anubis (aka Chaz) Guardian of the gates of the e\afterlife and guide to the dead. The original Anubis was killed by an immortal named Charles "Chaz" Wilkinson when he used an ancient relic of power known as the "Beast slayer blade" Chaz had gained his immortality by birthright and is currently no longer considered among the born immortals in their struggle for the "One". Upon killing Anubis Chaz was immediately bestowed with a Divine form (pictured here) and powers and knowledge of his newly gained Portfolio. As Anubis he stands, vigilantly guarding the underworld from would be trespassers and those seeking to contact the deceased. Chaz has a mortal life and adventures much as he did in life but when duty calls he is instantly transported across time and space to the gates of the underworld where he confronts anyone seeking entrance to the afterlife. He is also present when the dead are being judged, holding the scales that weigh their hearts. He has convinced the other gods to only judge the dead once per year freeing everyone up for other matters. Anubis (Chaz) is hated by Seth who despises Chaz for killing his son and is secretly plotting to remove Chaz from power so that he can kill him in the only way Birthright immortals can be killed...by removing his head. |

| Bastet
Obsidian Sci-fi 2016/5/16 5:28
1768 1
Every good ship needs a captain and the Sphinx is no different. Bastet however is no mere captain or commander. Bastet is a goddess, and the Egyptian god unlike other gods, have no avatars and appear in their immortal flesh. Bastet is a goddess of War, and a protector of the Egyptian territories which are not members of the IGFW. As divine beings mortal weapons and magic and even many superpowers, have no effect on them whatsoever. However, if someone should find a way to kill these powerful beings then these particular gods would be destroyed permanently since killing any god in it's native realm results in permanent death. This tends to make the Egyptian gods less tolerant of rebellions and uprisings and mortals in general. Though a few are incredibly arrogant, and what one might call "ignorant" of what mortals in the 44th century are capable of. Anubis was one such example and he paid with his life...his divine role is now filled by Chaz, Guardian of the realm of the dead and Guide of souls. A position Chaz is none too happy with but performs dutifully. |

When designing a bridge I usually start with a Trekkie type design. Captain center of everyone and navigation in a forward position all the other stations can be wherever although I like the idea of having tactical behind the captain's chair. But this one was a little different. I had to add elements of an Egyptian culture and still keep it sci-fi. Some Stargate props sure helped out and make for great aesthetics. |
