The door opened and Cassie was shoved roughly into the basement. Trembling in terror she backed away as the vile man who’d grabbed her while going home from school strode in. chuckling wickedly he looked the teenager over and licked his lips. “You’re gonna be number thirteen,” he declared. “You’re skinnier’n I usually like, but you’ll do just fine.” He then grinned showing ghastly rotting teeth that made Cassie flinch.
“S-stay away from me!” a Cassie stammered. “P-please… Just-just l-let me go!”
The fiend merely chuckled. “Why do you always say that? Do you really expect me to actually let you go? You’re about to die, little girl!” he then laughed.
“HELP!!!” Cassie screamed. “SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!”
The monster laughed even louder. “Scream all you like! Nobody can hear you! I soundproofed this basement.”
Fearfully, Cassie looked about for something to defend herself with. Spotting a hammer on a workbench she grabbed it and, brandishing it charged forward swing only for the fiend to effortlessly wrench it from her grasp and toss it away. He then shoved the frightened girl toward a dingy mattress.
“I like em feisty! I love it when they fight back!” then grinning as if hit with inspiration the serial killer bent low and turned his head, presenting his jaw. “Tell ya what,” he declared. “I’ll give ya a fightin’ chance. Go ahead, do it, hit me with yer best shot! Whattaya got to lose?” he then laughed.
“N-nothing at all.” Mustering up all her courage Cassie drew back her fist, took careful aim at the fiend’s jaw and threw the hardest punch she could.
Neither had any way of knowing that would be the very moment Cassies latent superhuman strength would emerge….

The DC Universe's Old West Bounty Hunter get's himself irradiated with some doggawn Marvel Universe gamma particles and winds up bustin' out of his hat inta the Hex-Hulk. Yeehaw. The greenest - and meanest gun in the Old West. Plus, he's real ugly!
I don't know that much about Jonah Hex - just what I saw in the Animated Batman episode 'Showdown' really. He did appear occasionally in the DC event comics - but to a very limited cameo-level degree as I recall.
As for the Hulk? Well, you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

THE IRON-BAT
Twenty or-so years ago, Bruce Stark's parents were murdered in a supposed-car accident before his eyes, leaving him the world's wealthiest orphan - and badly-injured by shrapnel. Young Bruce grew into an inventive genius, expanding his family empire - while secretly pursuing a means to repair his shrapnel-damaged body and fight the injustice which claimed his parents. Fate intervenes when Stark is captured by The League of Shadows and forced to build a weapon for Ra's al Ghul. His old wounds aggravated during his abduction, Bruce uses the tools Ra's supplies him to instead enable the repairs his body has long-required, constructing an advanced armoured suit. The chest-plate of this suit now serves to regulate Bruce's heart, while the armour facilitates his escape. Upon his return, Stark revises the design of the armour and - inspired by the frightening inhabitants of his new secret-lab/cave beneath the Stark Mansion - enhances certain elements of the suit to become the fierce IronBat.

Done in an Anime [sorta] style it shows how normal kids must adjust to drastic changes in their lives and hopefully become true warriors in the process. |
