From Jim Balent's "Tarot Witch of the Black Rose", comes the misanthropic Raven Hex, who wants to have witches replace humanity. Been wanting to do something with Tarot characters for a while, never got around to it.

The mother goddess XI-WANG MU and the Jade Emperor, YU-HUANG-SHANGDI, sought to end their loneliness by having a child. The emperor carved a statue of a girl from the keystone of his jade palace. XI-WANG MU, sprinkled her husband's creation with nectar from the fruit, of her Heavenly Peach Garden. The statue transformed into a child, which her parents name YUSHENG-LIJUAN (Beauty and grace, born of jade)
A band of demons seeking to destroy the eternal couple's happiness stole the child from her crib and hid her on earth, where she became mortal. She was found by a family of poor rice farmers and raised as their own. YUSHENG-LIJUAN, called NINGHONG (Tranquil red), by her adopted family, grew in intelligence, wisdom, and beauty.
The gods would find their daughter when she turned twenty-one. They blessed her with demi-god hood and charged her with defending the weak and helpless.
Notes: Another redo of an older manip. Changed the pose and applied some newer techniques that I have learned. Much of the costume was reworked as well The background colors were enhanced to give an almost ethereal feel to the piece. The model is still the beautiful Annie Chu.

| Red Howlet & Allies

It's never wise to become a neighborhood superhero without allies who've got your back. For Red Howlet, these are Enver and Qitta. Enver's a Turkish-descended powerhouse, super-strong, super-durable, and able to create shockwaves that can level buildings. His powers are mystical in origin (he creates shockwaves by speaking a magic word), and he's been told that one day he will be forced to use them in a way that will harm or kill many people in order to destroy a great evil. For the most part, though, he's a nice guy who enjoys playing a white knight for pretty girls, though occasionally, he overdoes it, as in this pic.
Qitta, by contrast, is not so much of a powerhouse. Born in Somalia, her family came to America during the war and relied heavily on the charity of 'Allam al-Wafiyah. When the man called Beit took over the Boston offices, he decided that her family owed a debt, and took her as payment, using her in an experiment to see if his powers were great enough to bestow superhuman abilities upon others. He turned her into a feral creature and unleashed her in Little Yugo, hoping she'd be enough of a threat to make the Red Howlet turn to him for help. The transformation crapped out, however, and Qitta reverted back to human form. Of course, Beit has not called off the debt, so Qitta still has to go out in costume whenever Beit orders her to make trouble. She usually ends up helping Red Howlet fight crime. (Thankfully, Beit never bothers to send anyone to make sure Qitta is actually making trouble.)
Of course, every alliance has risks. Both Enver and Qitta have ties to Beit, and Enver in particular believes that, whatever Beit's personal intentions, the coalition that Beit has formed can help him in his efforts to clean up his neighborhood, and would help Red Howlet if she were to join (not to mention the fact that part of him fears that Beit may be the great evil that he is destined to fight.) As such, Red Howlet is constantly aware that one day she might have to fight her friends. |

Cindy Clarke was born in Cherokee, North Carolina of a Caucasian father and a mixed Cherokee/Chickasaw Native American mother. Cindy spent her early years learning to love animals and the natural beauty of her Appalachian home.
Faced with the growing environmental devastation of her homeland Cindy took to law and eventually became the most feared environmental attorney in the South East.
One evening, Cindy's car was forced from the road and sank into the Nantahala River. Near death Cindy was saved by a visitation from Selu, the mother goddess. Selu granted the young woman abnormal strength, endurance and speed. The goddess then spun from the elements of the earth clothes for her new charge.
Combined with her already exceptional mind, Cindy became AysTf Afy (Warrior Woman, pronounced:Ah-yaw-sss-tee gee- Ah gee yaw). She now fights her battle on two fronts: the courtroom and clandestinely as a superhero.
Note: Same model but I like the pose much better as well as the better resolution of the photo. Adjusted and in some cases redid parts of the uniform.

The image is a little darker than I would have liked but I think I captured the essence of the classic cover. god I hate working with the light settings in poser. once you get the lighting just right in the preview page the renderer f#@ks it up.
I am still working on building the chrome gargoyles that should be at the bottom of the image so I left them out.

My attempt at one of my favorite french comics: Val?rian and laur?line.
I used a bit of 3D on the bodies to try to recreate the pose of one image I really like of this two and I tried to cover some mistakes with the ligthning. Not to happy with that, still trying to learn how to create a good image but pretty close to what I had in mind...
