| Spidey Time: My Spidey 3 Costume! effektdmentality Marvel Comics 2007/5/7 2:26 6443 4
So for Spidey 3 I decided to make my own suit and cosplay around the theatre on opening night. I had a lot of fun as the Red Power Ranger for Halloween a few years ago, and the Symbiote suit was a lot of the same process.
At first I wanted to be Venom, but seeing as how I have a small build, I instead opted for spidey.
The suit is once agin fully constructed out of stuff I've had lying around or found at thrift stores and the like. Most if not all of it is hotglued together, as I can't sew to save my life. So from the top down, here's my process:
The mask is some lycra from when I did band in high school (night competitions in the fall get pretty cold). The lenses are peices of a white mesh hat sandwiched between two layers of 2 litre soda bottle plastic. I can see pretty well out of them, and they photograph as pretty white, so it worked out great. The webs are dimensional fabric/puff paint. Velcro on the inside edges keep it attached slightly to my shirt.
The shirt was some under-armor type stuff I found at a thrift store sports section. I was lucky enough to find one that fit my body pretty well. The webs are again fabric paint. The front spider is fabric paint as well, the back spider (not visible) is silver sharpie, since I ran out of paint =D
The gloves are formal attire gloves I found at the thrift store again. Webs are fabric paint.
The pants are exercise/biking pants, so they were formfitting too. The web belt was painted onto the pants, and the pants overlap the shirt so that the belt matches up with the webs on the shirt. From far enough it looks like one piece.
The boots are long black socks, with fabric paint webs. I plan on hot gluing sandal bottoms to the bottom of the socks to make them actual skintight boots. We'll see.
And that's that. I plan on improving it and then wearing it to Super Con in San Jose later in the summer.

| Shanna The She Devil newbachu Marvel Comics 2007/5/6 23:06 2967 8
This is my try at a very un Frank Cho like Shanna the She Devil. Nothing wrong with the way he draws her, that's just not my style.
I wanted a pic with the dinosaurs that she hunted in the mini, but it a very anti hunter/prey kinda layout. I wanted it to feel like she owns the dinosaurs now. I'll freely admit I don't draw dinosaurs so two of them are mostly swiped from the Shanna/Frank Cho TPB. All done in pen and ink and because of my schedule lately this took about 4 months to finish (booo) |

Updated new version complete with fancy shading on the color parts. |

| Spider-Woman in Hydra's Grip Kallisti Marvel Comics 2007/5/6 11:39 4192 8
I really liked this base pic, and instantly envisioned Hydra's leader the Viper whispering instructions into a not-so-sure Spider-Woman's ear.
Happy with the costumes and wrinkles, not so thrilled about the eyes or the mask in general.
Let me know what you think! |

Hey guys! I've recently begun dabbling in manipping again, now that i have a machine that will behave at least half the time... looks like i'm a bit rusty! Everyone here has certainly progressed WAY beyond what i remember from the last time i posted here. I have some catching up to do!
This is just a basic Aria Giovanni WonderWoman job. Just making sure i still know how to do this...

As with Harvey Dent, I toned down some of the more cartoonish elements of the character (such as having her outfit made of vines). |

Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face. The first in a series of four portraits of Batman villains. I always thought the way they draw Two-Face with half his suit normal and half all crazy looked dumb, so I gave him a full normal suit.
Raven skin texture by Daio, suit by ISOP. Acid burn texture by ODS, available in AniMotions Free Stuff. |

| Oracle--Handi-capible SCTreeguy DC Comics 2007/5/5 0:35 3154 1
Babs was sitting in her new all-terrian wheelchair watching the waves from the beach. Just then, Bat-Man walked up. "Why are you crying, Oracle?" He asked. "I lost the use of my legs, Nightwing broke up with me and I am starting to realize that I'll never be screwed," she sobbed. The Bat-Man smiled, "Don't cry Barb, let me help you." He reached down and scooped her up in his powerful arms. Holding her close to his chest, he began to wade into the ocean. There eyes met and without warning he threw the helpless Oracle into the surf and started to walk back to the dry sand. Looking over his shoulder he called out, "NOW YOU'RE SCREWED!!!" |

| WOHS EMIT! petercotton DC Comics 2007/5/3 17:27 4150 4
this is my first attempt at Zatanna. argubley my favorite character design from DC(batgirl is my second), i've been avoiding attempting her cause i haven't wanted to post a messed up version. so this is my first attempt. i'm really happy with the face, but not the skin, as REAL pale skin in poser is hard to find, so i had to go for a mediterria look, which doesn't fit that well. i'm also happy with most of the costume, except for the chest piece, as it's really hard to find a good waist coat that's also sexy...
oh well. whats' your opinion? any helpful comments or advice would be welcome!
PS: i prolly won't post again this weekend cause i just got battlefield 2, and i wanna blow shit up!
WOLB TIHS PU!
hope i did that right....
Zatanna (C) to DC.
Oops. meant to say, that yes, the figure i use most is a VERY heavliy modded aiko 3. sorry, forget to mention it. |
