From the jungles of Colombia, here is MAKU.
Adventurous character who lives his adventures in the Colombian forest of the Amazon. His name comes from a tribe who lives near the borders of the Caquet? river. The Mak?, nomade people and, in addition, despised by the other tribes.
Maku story begun after he is saved by the tribe of the Mak?, who believes he was sent by the Gods to fulfill an ancient prophecy.
After he grows into an adult man, he is the chief of the tribe and he is kind of a mix between Tarzan and the Phantom.

I thought I'd chime in on this contest. Since I've been messing around with 3D I've been dying to do something in a comic book format. Thanx for the chance.
STORY SYNOPSIS: The plot revolves around a police investigation into criminal allegations against Joshua Dalembare, the CEO of a major munitions development corporation, who is said to have been selling black-market weapons on the streets. The local police have been pumping Dalembare's private secretary, Karen Howard, for information much to the dismay of her husband Ray. Finally she gives in and decides to speak with the law only to find out that there may be more to her boss than she knows...when what appears to be 2 agents from the National Security Organization show up at her doorstep. Who is Joshua Dalembare? What exactly does Karen know about him? How is the N.S.O. involved and what do they have in store for Karen and her family? Most importantly..why are the Howard family watching a surfing movie when Heroes is on? 
ART NOTES: This was my first image using the G2 figures Sydney & Simon and I am very impressed with them. I put a lot of work into the lighting [not my strongest suit] to project a believable nighttime atmosphere. More than anything I thought the camera angles were key to the story not so much for a dramatic effect, but so everything wasn't so linear and distant! After rendering each scene sepperately I brought each panel into PS7 and did some extra lightning work adding some key lensflares for the traffic scene. I then did all the dialogue in Illustrator and Voila!
This was fun! If I have enough time I may do another!  |

| Back around 1980, DC introduced a character called Superwoman who was a time traveler from the future. She was, I think, a history professor or something who came back in time to find out about a mysterious 'Superwoman' who showed up at that time to help Superman. Surprise, surprise, she finds out that the mysterious is none other than...herself. She was probably a casualty of the Crisis but if nothing else, she at least had a cool outfit. I wanted to do a pic of her so I have her walloping the evil Superman doppelganger from Earth....1 or 2 or whatever he's from called Ultraman. |

| Many of you here have seen my character The Christian. http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/myalbum3/photo.php?lid=2512 I've never been pleased with the design of him(much less the art but thats another story). I fear he evokes too much of Snake-eyes from G.I.Joe with the visor/goggles look and the dark blue outfit. I wanted his design to bring to mind how powerful he must be and hopefully even a couple of people might think it a cool design on its own but I don't feel the original look does that so I took a shot at a redesign. I went for an armored look this time. I think it looks cooler but that could just be because its new. I'll have to wait and see how it looks to me in a week. |

| This guy looked pretty cool zipping thru time in the old Armagedon 2001 series. The only challenge was finding the right colors for the time rainbow(actually 2 rainbows layered on each other) and the right blending modes to apply to his body to get that translucent look. After that it was just clone-blend-smudge, clone-blend-smudge... |

I don't really know how this came about. It was the base model's pose I think. She was beautiful, but sad looking, standing there holding what looked to be a black wall. So, the birth of an idea came to me. What if Kara is mourning the loss of Superman? And this is what I came up with. The whole pic took about 3 hours.
The statue of Superman came from a sculpture of the Kingdom Come Series. The model came from the web. Anyways, I hope you like it.

This is my Seraph (I'm sure at least one or two of you has started recognizing her by now!) done in an old sk00l pin up pose. I based it off a (omg!) pin up photo I found through google.
Pure digital painting, took me all day in PS 7 to get her done, and I messed up. I didn't do a larger version because sometimes I prefer to just work with the size it needs to be. So for this I started small, because it was to be my new I.D. on deviantART. Halfway through I realized it was turning out fairly nice...but I'd already spent so many hours on it already I didn't want to start over.
Anyway, I'm rather proud of it, regardless of how small she is. And I do not own a tablet! Everything I do with photoshop is done with a mouse. So there. :P
I mention that because people seem to think I have a tablet. I wish I did!
She doesn't have the wings in this picture, though I did another version with a set of paintbrush wings that I threw on there for an avatar. But it's even smaller than this, so I'm not putting it on here.
Next time I'll make a really really huge digi-painting. |
